Raw 8/31/09 LD, featuring Cody's Dad

The main events only rule made it about 300x better to me. It makes it a lot better than every match. That's my issue with Lockdown: just make the big ones cage matches. It takes away the specialness of it.

Cody is gonna assault his father before the end of the night.

Is WWE re-airing the HBK/Taker match instead of actually having an ECW tomorrow or something? I guess they don't care about the ECW brand. That match will take up over half of the ECW timeslot.

It's more of they have their interview guy doing play-by-play. And that segment was certainly a blast from the past, how I almost forgot that bit... ohh...

Actually, Josh Matthews did commentary before he did backstage interviews. He used to do commentary on WWE Velocity (and I think heat at one point too). Either way, they try to enforce the brand split but then don't enforce it at the same time.

What happened to special guest referees wearing referee shirts? When did that stop? Cena looks rather stupid without one.

Ha, that was actually pretty intelligent, having Dusty do the heel turn there for his son to and Legacy to beat on Cena. Very nicely done swerve.

Oh Christ, what is Cena going to be the newest member of DX or something?

the Wrestlemania show wasn't a re-air. They put highlight packages of the matches to music, and did some interviews.

So who wants to guess what the Chavo/Hornswoggle match will be? They always have something to do with the host.

You gotta love how the Champion is introduced first, then the Challenger, then the ref. That seems pretty ass backward to me.

When was that? I never watched Heat or Velocity, but I know Matthews was at least doing interviews back in early 2003 at the least.

So what was the talk like when Orton talked to Dusty?

"Sorry for kicking your head in a few years ago."

"Don't worry Randy. I didn't sell it anyway. We cool."
