I am not going to go over people's old points but i think the only reason i will be buying this on DVD is to hear Austin's (unedited) HOF speech i mean near enough the whole thing was a joke. I am not going to grade every match like some ppl on here because i would just be rehasing old points by other ppl but some highlights for me were:

Suprise at the MITB winner (although looking at the participants i suppose the only choice!)
HBK vs Undertaker - two of the oldest veterans in WWE prove that they are still the best thing WWE has right now
Finding out Steamboat can still pull off some actual moves! I mean i thought he had Jericho with that scoop slam!

Some of the downers
Santino cannot be taken seriously as a male competitor so they put him in drag and place him in a Diva's battle royal! Why doesnt he use this win to go on and compete for the Women's Title! (Plus they didnt even announce who was in the match, only the truely unique Divas stood out, ie Victoria!)
Not seeing the Tag Title Unification match but instead we get 5 minutes of Kid Rock playing some of his random (i suppose you could call them hits) this was a bathroom break.
Once again getting the same WWE title winners John Cena and Triple H.

Overall i would have to say C

I think it was absoloutely shocking tbh... Vince could've had someone like Batista running into the Triple H and Orton match, knocking Triple H out while the referee was down or something... Without a doubt the Taker and HBK match was the best of the night but even that failed to stand out as a 'Wrestlemania match'... Vince needs to get his act together for WM 26 cause for the past 2 Wrestlemanias nothing has been happening..

I was there live & seeing it live was pretty great. Anyways with the exception of the Money In The Bank Match(I was hoping Punk didn't win even though I am a fan of his) & of course the best match of the show in the HBK/Undertaker match, I thought was pretty stale & it did not really live up to the expectations that it was supposed to live up to. I agree with DhA about the Orton/Triple H match. I am pissed about that match cause they build Orton up so much with so much momentum only for him to job to Triple H cleanly. It's outrageous & to make things more outrageous their match was shit. I hope the idiotic creative team comes up with a great way for Orton to win cause like DhA said, any reason for Orton to continue this feud is gonna be stupid.

Hm... WM25 had some good moments, but the bad ones unfortunately outweighed them.

MITB
As usual a spotfest that is quite entertaining, but there were a couple of botches too many, and really - I didn't like seeing CM Punk win this one. He hasn't really been doing any significant lately, and WWE didn't manage to keep his momentum going after his World title win last year. I would have much preferred to see MVP win, actually. Of all the guys in that match, I had the feeling that MVP was getting by far the biggest fan reaction! I could even have lived with Kane winning, for crying out loud.

I guess a lot of people had their money on Christian, but it really is just too soon after his comeback I guess... I think WWE felt he first has to "earn his spot" again, after "deserting" to TNA, so I never really thought he was going to take it. They also could've FINALLY given it to Shelton Benjamin, but he and main event just isn't gonna happen in this life. Personally, I think they really should've tried to have a surprise appearance by Batista (despite him being still being out after his injury, maybe he could've gone to WM if his rehab was ahead of schedule), entering somehow into the match. He's pretty over with the fans, he just should've somehow snatched the case, and challenged John Cena... but well, Punk it is I guess.

The Diva-Battle Royal was just a waste of precious time that did NOTHING for any of the ladies, and only had five minutes of Santino Marella doing a drag queen dance. Great. They might've gotten some reaction out of the fans if they had at least formally introduced some of the returned divas (esp. Sunny!), but the way they did this match, the crowd was just dead silent for the entire painful procedure. Ugh, what a waste of time and space. Great move WWE, just keep Miz/Morrison vs the Colons for the Tag Titles off the card for THIS! Bleh...

JBL vs Mysterio... well... um... at least JBL seems to be gone now. Maybe his reign and now Mysterio's can do something for the value of the IC title. The match itself was pointless. Though Mysterio's outfit rocked, this time.

Jericho vs the Legends: Well, as I already posted in the other thread... bad choice having Jimmy Snuka in there, good choice to have Ricky Steamboat - tremendous effort, that guy still rocks at 56 years old! The finish with Rourke was too drawn out and a little lame too - a run in of Rourke's would've worked better instead of Y2J challenging him and all that. This way, it made only Jericho look bad.

Jeff vs Matt: Well, basically the only other really interesting match from a wrestling point of view. Surprisingly few spots actually, and a pretty good finish... that chair-Twist of Fate looked pretty dangerous (and probably also was pretty dangerous). Matt going over Jeff in this one was definitely also good; Jeff is waaay over anyway, and Matt still needs a little push for people to finally take him seriously as a real main event candidate.

Cena vs Edge vs Big ShowWell... Triple Threats at WM... this can work, as Benoit/Trips/HBK showed at WM20. However this one didn't. They really could've worked in some more interesting spots instead of just a few douple team suplexes. This match really did not build up any drama whatsoever; I was definitely missing one or the other false finish. Pretty amazing display by Cena, lifting both Show and Edge though... but we know this guy is a freak in the strength department. Still, a predictable finish. I would have preferred Edge to win, and CM Punk to cash in MITB on the spot, heh.

Triple H vs Orton
Definitely the let down of the evening. This should have been a match of epic proportions, with all the drama and emotion involved. Instead, Triple H appeared a little too dominant for the biggest part of the match, and considering that the build up to this match was so personal, it was pretty much a given Triple H had to take this one home. I mean, he hasn't won at a WM in quite a long time, so maybe a victory is in order... Though him being in his particular match for the WWE title in the first place is questionable. They should by all means have made this 3 Stages of Hell; maybe then it would have delivered. But this way, it was just a half-a**ed effort and a very much basic standard match. The only remarkable thing about it was that both Orton and HHH hit their finishers very early on for the first time. This could've been much more, and if you need to know what a one-on-one contest at a WM main event has to look like, just refer back to Edge vs Undertaker from last year's WM.

HBK vs Undertaker
I'm discussing this last, because this should by all means have been the Main Event of the evening - and in truth, it was. Of course... the main titles should be the main focus of any PPV, but in this particular case, those two guys would have deserved more. This was easily the greatest match on that card (which is no big feat in and of itself, unfortunately), but also one of the best matches ever. Had me on the edge of my seat, and delivered everything I expected from it. This could and should have been anyone's sole reason to watch WM25. And it just goes to show just why HBK and Taker are the best at what they do. And if anyone ever again comes up, saying the streak is the only thing that defines the Undertaker's career... hell, just watch this match, and even if no one knew that Taker had that streak going, it would STILL be one of the greatest matches ever. Simply because those two are that good. Maybe the only thing that keeps this from reaching the level of Angle/Taker from NWO is the fact that we are all (rightfully) expecting Taker to win in the end, because it was WM. Still a tremendous match, and plain and simple a showcase of how it is supposed to be done if you face off one on one at Wrestlemania (you hear that, Triple H and Randy Orton?), but if this had taken place at another big PPV such as Summer Slam, RR or Survivor Series, it might've been even more interesting since in that case, the odds would have been perfectly even.

But thankfully, there was at least one match on the card that didn't disappoint, and if anything, exceeded expectations.

All in all not exactly a great Wrestlemania. I was really expecting a little more, at least from the Main Events. And I'm still annoyed the kept the Diva Battle Royal while scrapping the Tag Team match. Now I'm kinda curious about the draft, actually. Going to see SD live on April 19th here, so I'm definitely wondering who'll be around... I hope Cena and Edge stay on SD though (as I have not yet seen either guy live), and Taker again would also be nice. Guess we'll have to wait and see...

On a side note: Is anyone else growing tired of Stone Cold? I know you all love the guy, and he is the reason many of you are watching wrestling etc etc... but seriously, he has been doing NOTHING significant whatsoever for years now, and you can only so often come down to the ring, and drink beer. This time, he didn't even get to hit the Stunner on anyone, good grief. But well... from the looks of it, he seems to be done with wrestling, and moving on to movies as well. But of course he doesn't sell out like the Rock did. Even though they essentially quit at the same time (ok ok, I know Stone Cold's body isn't holding up anymore while Rock could technically still go). But I digress... Anyway, I know Stone Cold revolutionized wrestling in the Attitude era, and helped keep WWE and wrestling itself alive. And there is no taking that from him, and his place in the Hall of Fame is more than well deserved. But I have really seen little point in all his appearances ever since his retirement; Hogan at least always added a storyline to it when he did his short comebacks. It was definitely nice to have him as a part of WM25... but he also could've interfered in the legends match somehow or something... I just don't like him coming out, doing nothing of significance. But at least he got the crowd off their seats for a few moments, heh.

The best bit of WM 25 was......................

Edge did the Mr Perfect "Chewing Gum Swat" on the way to the ring for his match!!!!!!!

Well, I can think of roughly 300 better ways to spend 55 bucks and only half of them are combinations of alcohol purchases.

I went into it assuming there'd be at least two good matches, and Wrestlemania met my expectations with two good matches.

MITB- Easily the least interesting MITB so far, made even less interesting with another CM Punk win. Definitely makes me question the WWE's vision, even as short-sighted and nonsensical as I already know it is. Kofi looked great, really impressed me. But Christian was hardly even in the match. I went nuts when he he kicked himself and the ladder back up, and while I picked MVP to win, I really think they should've just ended with that. C+

25 diva battle royale- I'm actually pissed at this one. Granted, to me this match was "no tickee, no laundry": either Victoria wins or fuck it. But not only did she not win, but Santino Morella did, which begs the question: "If the WWE think that Women's wrestling is a joke, why the fuck have they been making me put up with it for so many years." They cram absolute pieces of shit down my throat, each day a new glorified stripper who can half-ass an arm-drag; and then one day, poof, like one extended April Fools joke and Vince just sits there with his shit eatting grin motioning towards Santino Morella, as if to say "get it?" No, I don't get it, and I'm sorry for being a party-pooper, but that's not funny. F-

Jericho def. Legends- what many were expecting to be the shittiest match of the night turned out to be pretty damn decent, and holy shit, did my half-Hawaiian grandfather just powerslam Jericho? Steamboat stole another Mania, it only took 22 years. The only thing that sucked about this match was the inevitable celebrity one-punch...boo. Match- B+; Aftermath- D.

Rey Misterio def. JiBLets. I'm not sure what happened here. It was basically a squash but in Rey-Rey's favor for once, and JBL's "making history" was pretty much just more bullshit from a guy who seems to only get over ever because he says something stupid on television, and this time WWE didn't give him anything. Sucks for me, because I picked him to win in our pool because of his stupid "talk" because usually Vinnie Mac likes nothing more than to stroke the JiBLer, jr. F+ (plus is only because JBL said he quit afterwards. I hope he means it, at least for a few months, or goes back to announcing. I heard Smackdown's got a position available)

Matt Hardy def. Jeff Hardy- by far, the next best match after the obvious. Matt won, which was great for me as I had called every match wrong at that point in the night, but it was an outstanding effort by both competitors. Awesome match. A-

Undertaker def. Michaels- I don't need to say anything about this. Everyone expected this match to be great, it was probably even better than that. Fuck yeah, this is what we paid for. But calling this the best match of the night is like calling Nerds your favorite candy when all your other options are dog dick. Yeah, Nerds are great, but all the others are dog dick. A++++

Cena def. Big Show and Edge- I only enjoyed this match because I was way behind in the pool and was the only one in my group to pick Cena. But, I didn't understand why this match turned out this way considering the match that came after. I was honestly expecting a Cena heel turn (Cena gets with Vickie) but who knows, maybe that's still in the works. Other, than that, yeah, dog dick. Not worth mentioning. An apathetic C-.

HHH def. Orton- Oh yeah, now I remember! HHH sucks. What a fucking terrible wrestler. God, does everything have to be in slow motion when he's in the ring. You know what, people keep talking about the end of the attitude era, and as far as HHH is concerned all I can say "good riddance". You've been boring-up my main events (particularly at Manias) for over a decade, and I'm fucking sick of it. We gave you a great storyline, a great competitor and you still find a way to make a match look like two ******s trying to swim through molasses. As Stone Cold would say **holds up both middle fingers** F---- (minuses only because this was a super squander of a main event and a great storyline, otherwise, just plain old F)

Tag team match- as far as I know this match never took place. At the last minute Vince said, "hey, this motherfucker only costs $55, we better cut something to make them buy the DVD." Jokes on you, Vince. We'll wait until Taker V. Michaels and the Hardyz match end up on other collections with other good matches.

All-in-all, Mania 25 was alot like Mania 24 which was alot like 23, a few good matches (notably involving Shawn Michaels and Taker) and a bunch of built-up let-downs. I give meaningless bonus points to Steamboat and Kingston, but altogether, the show was dog dick. I'd like to say it's even worse in comparison to other Mania's, but I'm starting to think the standard of Mania has dropped enough already so that isn't really a valid comparison. In PPV terms, a solid C. In Mania terms, maybe a D.

I realize there are similar threads but I just wanted to start one where we could actually go through each match etc and give our thoughts. So here is my take on the event...

Firstly, I thought the Reliant Stadium looked immense and the crowd was obviously befitting of a Wrestlemania audience. So it definately had the 'Mania feel to it from that standpoint. The staging and the ways in which the show were shot were immense in my opinion, as were the the pyro displays...so well done Kevin Dunn for that!!

I thought the Pussycat Doll did a decent version of 'America the Beautiful'....

I was suprised to see the MITB start first but I suppose this is a good way to start the show and get the live audience pumped up. I thought the match was great and it featured the usual nice spots we have come to expect. I was glad Kofi Kingston was allowed to shine here and I was impressed by his involvement. Similar story with Shelton Benjamin who was fantastic...his leap from the ladder was immense imo and though he and MVP botched a powerbomb attempt off the ladder, they both recovered well. On a personal note, Kane being my favourite performer I would have liked if he could have at the very least gotton some offence in there but what can you expect eh? Overall, a nice way to start the show but don't think CM Punk should have won as it just felt like last year's match all over again at that point!!!

So onto Kid Rock and a collection of his songs. Not being a Kid Rock fan, I took the opportunity to have a wee snooze here..ah not really, it was ok I suppose. This led us to the 25 Diva battleroyal to crown 'Miss Wrestlemania'. One word is appropriate here. TERRIBLE. Now in fairness I wasn't expecting much but unfortunately for me it was worse than I expected. In the very least I was looking forward to seeing some old faces again but with no proper introductions or any help from the commentators, it might as well have been 25 randomers. I think I just about managed to pick out Molly Holly and that was about it. 'Santina' provided some comic relief in the end and I laughed because if I hadn't I would have cried!!!

That then brought us to Jericho v the Legends. As expected, Piper and Snuka's involvement was shaddy to say the least. Make no mistake, these guys were entertaining but not now. When Piper got hung up on the ropes I had another laugh. Anyway, hat goes off to Ricky Steamoat...he was impressive and his exchanges thankfully saved the match. The man moved around like someone 2o years his juniour. Well done Ricky. Then we have Mickey Rorke who looked a little weird but nonetheless it was cool to see his exchanges with Jericho. There goes your celebrity Wrestlemania involvement folks....

Now onto Matt v Jeff in Extreme rules. This match was good imo, we some good spots such as Jeff jumping over a ladder only to miss as Matt moved out of the way. Not much else to say other than it was good and along the lines of what I expected except for the outcome as I felt Jeff would have won considering all Matt had done to him. Ah well, I suppose Jeff will have to wait to Backlash now...

JBL v Rey Mysterio was thankfully short seeing we had seen them go at it on Raw a few days earlier. Safe to say this only served for JBL anouncing his retirement after Rey quickly pinned him to become IC Champ. Hopefully Rey can go on and do something with the belt now. As for JBL while he may be done in the ring, I doubt this is the last we've seen of him on WWE TV. A job as a GM or commentator might be in the making. Also liked Mysterio's tribute to Heath Ledger's joker, random as it was...it was still pretty neat looking imo.

Now onto what I consider to be the real main event of the evening, Shawn Michaels v the Undertaker. One word here, AMAZING!!! This was a true classic imo and it was filled with exciting holds, manoeuvers and counters. There were a few times when I actually thought Michaels was going to win. It was class that both men kicked out of each other's finishers which further added to the suspence. My heart was in my mouth when 'Taker leaped over the ropes and landed awkwardly on his head...I thought he broke his neck for a minute...it was one of those moments were you didn't know if it was a work or not. But overall, these two did not disappoint this fan. Pure gold imo and a well desreved win for 'Taker.

Then we went to the World Championship triple threat match which was better than I expected actually. Some nice exchanges hereand Edge managed to make the other two look good. In fairness to Big Show, he has looked ok in the ring lately and looked fine here imo. Cena with some impressive feats of strength and probably deservingly won. He is the face of the company after all so ultimately it was the right decision to have him go over.

Then we go to Orton v HHH. These two have never put on a top notch bout imo, their matches are usually good but rarely great and this was no exception here I feel. It just wasn't a perfromance worthy of the main event imo but considering the build up it had to go on last. There were a few suprises in that there were no run ins or swerves etc..I was actaullly expecting something like that to occur...obv not! Anyway, I thought Dibiase and Rhodes could have benefited from at least accompanying Randy to the ring but that obv didn't happen either. The match wasn't bad but ultimately HHH picked up the victory to retain. I felt the smart decision would have been for Orton to go over here, but I can understand why Hunter won. Randy will just have to wait a wee while longer for his turn at the summit of WWE once again.

Overall, 'Mania 25 was a good solid event imo. It featured some great matches ('Taker v Michaels was outstanding and that's what I'll remember this event for) and some ok ones. Not the greatest and certainly not the worst. I felt it lacked a bit with backstage segments and interviews etc, elements which are normally present at this PPV,but meh. I guess we will have to wait for the DVD to be able to see the tag title unification match in which the 'Colons' won. That is for those of us who will actually fork out and spend money on the DVD.....Again, felt Rhodes and Dibiase should have featured here but they will get their chance one day. Good show and ultimately well done WWE once again!!!

PS... Austin's segment was great! It brought a nice sense of nostalgia if nothing else....

A lot of the quality of matches was pretty good, but I have to say that so far, this was the worst PPV of the year. I didn't want to see CM Punk win again (and neither did the crowd). And a lot of the rest was just predictable (JBL vs Mysterio, Matt vs Jeff, the Cena match, the taker match, diva match) all but the first and last match was really obvious. How else do you know this was dreadful pay per view?

SANTINO WON AT WRESTLEMANIA

I wonder if Vince after looking at this written really thought "WOW THIS IS ONE AWESOME SHOW FOR WM 25 !!!!!

MITB - was just ok , shelton was the star , someone else needed the rub, they let us down

25 diva battle royal - a fucking joke from the minute the bell rang to the end , horrible match, horrible commentating, horrible ending, not a good Santino joke here it was scary not funny

legends vs jericho- thank god for steamboat, everything with out steamboat was dreadful, predictable and boring

Hardys - 2nd best match of the night but could have been better

Rey vs JBL - The tag match got bumped for this ? Who cares what was the point of this , JBL isnt that important that we have to hear him quit live !!

HBK vs Taker - absolutely fantastic , almost saved the entire show

Cena vs Edge vs Big show- hey lets spear Vickie again who cares !!! Cena wins, kids cheer , and i die a little more inside

HHH vs Orton- well certainly a big suprise here, that we got no suprise !!!! Match was boring as compared to HBK/Taker might have been better if it was before. HHH wins , Mcmahons and Pricless are not involved. So now what Orton has to sell this punt for weeks right ? He cant possibly wrestle tonight on raw, everyone is out for at least a month after a punt . I cant believe this was the best finish they could come up with

Wrestlemaina 25 was a 5 out of 10 for me and without HBK/Taker it would be a 1 out of 10, someone give HBK and Taker a raise please !!!

Usually a reader on here but thought I'd post up a review.

Pussycat Doll singing: Tasty dress and nice pair of lungs. Better than Garcia. 7/10

MITB: This was good but not great and the weakest of all MITB matches. There were some nice spots (Shelton's flip and some Kofi offense) but there was an anti-climatic finish. I actually didn't mind Punk winning (although would have preferred Christian/Shelton) because I don't think many were expecting him to seal back-to-back wins but the finish wasn't exciting and left you wanting more. The worst part was Hornwoggle taking out six guys (about 1500 pounds). Are we seriously expected to believe that could happen? 7/10

Kid Rock: I didn't pay £15 (live in UK) to watch a damn concert. Complete waste of time and frustrating when the tag match is dropped from the card. I reckon he definitely bedded at least one Diva though. 1/10

Divas: They should have introduced the returning divas. The commentators didn't even know Molly Holly was in the match until she was eliminated. Sloppy wrestling and it was really peeing me off when JR and co played dumb about the whole Santino thing. It made them look stupid and treated the fans as stupid. However, I do like Santino and his post-match dancing was the only highlight (that probably sounds wrong). 3/10

Y2J v Legends: This whole angle was supposed to be remembered for Mickey Rourke's involvement. However, step aside Randy "The Ram" Robinson because my memories will be of Ricky Steamboat. This guy is in his 50s yet showed more in five minutes than Mark Henry has shown in 10 years. This should have been Jericho v Steamboat. Great in-ring chemistry and really wanted to watch more of them. Snuka looks like he's on his last legs (barely had the energy to tap out) while although Piper showed more mobility, he offered little (at least he kept his top on). Rourke, who has shrunk dramatically since The Wrestler, milked the crowd too much for my liking and his knock-out punch was predictable. He should have delivered an elbow drop from the top rope or something like that. 7/10

JBL v Rey: It actually crossed my mind during JBL's speech prior to the match that he would be beaten in quick-time. This whole thing was as silly as Mysterio's mask and further devaluates the IC title. One positive note is that JBL will be out of the ring and return to the SmackDown announcers table which secures and extra point. 2/10

Hardy v Hardy: Like the MITB, I hoped for a little more. It was a solid match with some good spots but nothing spectacular. Jeff looked like he may have broke his spine and the finish was sick and effective. 7/10

Taker v HBK: Probably worth the money for this match alone. Incredible. Match of the night (as expected), match of the year and honestly one of the best matches I've seen for a long time. I thought Taker broke his neck with that dive. 10/10

Cena v Show v Edge: I didn't expect much from this and while it was worth watching, it will quickly be forgotten. Average title match which shouldn't be the case for Mania. 6/10

HHH v Orton: I'm not bothered HHH won the match. He's lost several years at Mania so I thought he would go over. However, there was too many lifleless parts to it. The crowd were dead and when the ref was down, Legacy and the McMahon clan should have come down and had a brawl to liven things up. I wouldn't go as far as describing it as awful but it was a poor finish to the show and probably the biggest disappointment of the night. 5/10.

Overall: Below-average for Mania. Saved by Taker v HBK and a Steamboat cameo. 7/10

us, as wrestling fans, will never be happy. we complain, when someone loses, we complain when someone wins. we say we want more wrestling and less talk, and we bitch about it when we get our way(last night for example). we will never be happy. wrestling has turned from wanting a guy to win, to the mindset of a guy "should" win...or shouldn't have won...whatever the case may be.

Man I felt like I got ripped off by ordering the PPV. They didn't even bother showing the tag team unification match. Guess they'll throw that on the DVD. The only matches that did it for me were MITB, Taker vs HBK and Steamboat(not the legends vs Y2J). This has to be one of the worst WM's in history

MITB Ladder match Good match. As usual a lot of high spots. CM Punk winning didn't thrill me too much I would've prefered MVP or Christian winning it.

Divas Battle royal sucked shit big time. Kid Rock didn't help any as he was a waste of time. We all knew Santino was going to win. Whatever I didn't even see Trish, Torrie or Sunny in the match that's how bad it was.

Jericho vs Legends kinda surprised me. As expected Snuka couldn't much. Piper was good for just swearing. Steamboat however suprised the hell outta me. The man still has it. If Vince knew this why couldn't it have been Steamboat vs Y2J instead? Micjey Rourhe getting involved was no big deal we all expected it.

Rey vs JBL what the hell was that? 21 seconds? What a great way to bring back the IC title to be defended. Kinda knew Rey would win considering JBL had a big announcement which also was a joke. He quit big deal we'll probably see him on SD replacing tazz.

Jeff vs Matt was a good match but could've been better though. It was great to see Matt get a big win like this maybe they will finally give the guy a push.

Undertaker vs HBK already a match of the year canidate for me. This was a 5 star match and I have nothing bad to say about it. This should've been the last match of the PPV.

Seeing the Legends was nice as usual and seeing Stone Cold was great the little he did was better than anything on this PPV.

Cena vs Show vs Edge was nothing special as most of us knew Cena was going to win the belt. Although hearing Cena's old theme Basic Thuganomics was cool I actually thought we was going to start going back to his old way and start freestyle rapping guess not another missed opportunity.

HHH vs Orton was trash, pure trash. I thought maybe just maybe they would let Orton walk away with the belt but I guess not. HHH buried Orton to end the show. No Rhodes or Dibiase no Mcmahons no surprise ending. Wow that has to be one of the worst title mathces in history and a bad way to end the PPV. Clearly this WM didn't have a special WM moment.

Okay this was the worst Wrestlemania in several years in my opinion...

MITB- okay, the creative had some good ideas and they found a way to get Henry involved in a spot, they had Hornswoggle involved and they had a good idea with the compilation of ladders, yet two or three big spots botched, and Punk is not the man who should have won. I was thinking that he might even come out after the World Title triple threat just to make the show not so bad... They could have done more in the MITB it was nothing special and although it was one of the better matches on the card, it was perhaps the worst MITB to date.

Kid Rock I think 5 songs may have been excessive, but I enjoyed the performance (although I was like why is he singing for this long) and it flowed nicely into the divas match

25 Diva Battle Royal- Was it really necessary just for "Santina" to win? This is another garbage storyline... Returning divas should have been announced other than by the announcing team

Jericho vs. 3 legends- Perhaps the worst match Jericho has ever competed in, this match straight up looked bad on paper... and was 10x worse in reality. Mickey Rourke is supposed to get hype or something? I was waiting for this to end.... Worst match of the night

JBL vs Rey- ok, I can't rate this or write much about it, as it was not a real match. Rey looks "cute" with his Heath Ledger joker costume, and he takes the title... and no one cares that JBL "quit"

Hardy vs Hardy- Ok, good that Matt won, but this match could have been so much better and I didn't feel that the brothers had the chemistry I was expecting them to have. I thought this match would parallel HBK/Taker and BOTH would steal the show, giving Matt & Jeff the push they need. It didn't, and it may have even hurt their careers.

HBK vs Undertaker- Match of the night, a 5 star match, receiving 10/10... I had no idea when this was going to end after several huge spots where it was only a two count.. When 'Taker flew over the top I was sure that the camera man had a broken back..... They weren't kidding that the "audio crack" was HUGE. Very enjoyable match and the only thing holding together this show...

Triple Threat- When Basic Thuganomics hit, I thought the gangsta rapping Cena would return and have a special WM rap. I was wrong...
This match was boring and the double FU. I mean Attitude Adjustment (forgot we're rated PG) botched at the end.

HHH vs Orton- Again, I was disappointed. I was hoping to see the Mcmahons come to ringside......... and maybe even Cowboy Bob Orton, just to make it huge. It wasn't even as good as their previous encounters. Taker/HBK should have main evented....

Quite frankly, I almost fell asleep....... this was an awful WM. No Way Out was amazing and this was a disgrace to the Silver Anniversary of WM. Well being this was really the 24th anniversary and 25th year, they can have a better silver anniversary next year................................. And to think two tag teams that could have put on a solid wrestling match, possibly the 2nd best match of the night behind Taker/HBK, was bumped AND IT WAS A TAG UNIFICATION MATCH. The WWE should smack themselves in the mouth. What I thought was impossible is happening, I think I may be losing interest in the product.... Plus the crowd barely seemed into it and that's how you know it's bad.. Not like a WM crowd should be.....
One more thing, Hell yea Austin. Thank you

I've seen a lot of people criticizing this Wrestlemania, and I think it's terribly unfair. I think this one was far superior to last years, and maybe even WM 23. It wasn't as good as WM 21 or 22, but still wasn't bad.

1) Dark Match - Colons vs. Miz/Morrison: The move to make this a dark match says one of two things to me. Either the match went REALLY bad in practice, or the WWE just wanted to make time for other things. If the match was bad, then I'm glad they moved it to dark match. If it was to make time for other things, I'll address that in a moment.

2) MITB - I was VERY impressed with this match. There was a trace of logic to the match, a ton of high spots, and a great crowd-popping match. It's a shame that Punk won, because the fans in attendance were DESPERATE for MVP or Christian to win, and it would have blown the roof off the building for one of them to win. Anyways, when ranked with other MITB matches, I'd say this was second only to the one from WM 21. Highly enjoyable bout. And Shelton Benjamin is basically a god when it comes to MITB.

3) Kid Rock - This....was just atrocious. Fans didn't care, most viewers probably didn't care, no one has figured out why he's actually there, and was a poor transition to...anything really. I would much rather have seen either the Divas introduced (it would have been nice for some old ones to be recognized), of the tag team bout here. This segment was just terrible, and I hope it's edited out on the DVD. It won't be, but I'll be skipping it. Terrible.

4) Diva Battle Royal - Meh, it was what you'd expect. Santino winning, and then dancing afterwards was somewhat amusing, the match wasn't terrible, it was good seeing some older Divas in there...but it was still a Battle Royal, and a Diva Battle Royal at that.

5) Jericho vs. Legends/Rourke - I, for one, LOVED this whole segment. I would rather have had Snuka and Piper not even been in the bout, as Steamboat completely stole the spotlight here, but it was still fine. Made Steamboat's possibility of victory believable. Anyways, Jericho and Steamboat put on a HELL of a performance, and was some very good wrestling. I was very very impressed with this. And then, when the match was over, the Mickey Rourke thing was interesting to watch as well, and fun to watch. I know some people like to crap over Rourke being there, and how long it took him to get in the ring, and how Austin should have made an appearance, but if you quit over-analyzing the segment, it was pretty interesting.

6) Hardy vs. Hardy - I was disappointed with this match, even though it exceeded my expectations. Allow me to explain.

I didn't expect much in the way of quality in this match, but I feel like the first few minutes were pretty good. There was some solid storytelling in the match, a couple of memorable spots, but all believable. However, after the first half of the match, the Hardys just degenerated into a mindless and messy spotfest of a match. It was "spot", "lay around" and "spot" again. I HATED the last half of the match, even more because I thought they were doing pretty good to start the match. They sucked the energy out of the crowd, because while the crowd popped big for the major spots, they had NOTHING to keep them interested in between spot. The Hardy's didn't do a good job working the crowd, just popping them with mindless spots. Thus, I was disappointed, even though the match exceeded my expectations.

7) JBL vs. Mysterio - When Mysterio came out, you could literally HEAR JR, Cole and Lawler trying to figure out if this was a joke. That's how silly Mysterio's attire was. Like, it was awful. Who ever thought of that, and put it on Mysterio deserves to be fired. The announcers didn't even say anything for several minutes because they didn't know how they were supposed to react to something so ridiculous.

As far as the match goes, this may have been another case of two guys not working well together, and not wanting to have a bad match on 'Mania. But, it was pretty fun and exciting for the few minutes it happened. And JBL quitting was...well, I don't know.

8) Undertaker vs. HBK - This was a very good match. Highly enjoyable, perhaps overplayed the "kick out of finishers" thing, but still very good. But, I've seen several people say that it was the greatest match of all-time, or greatest 'Mania match ever...or whatever. It wasn't. The biggest problem I had with the match is that it never had a good flow. The action was jerky, start and stop, the entire way through. I'm not asking for the guys to go 100 MPH, but at least maintain constant contact with each other, with one guy doing damage to another. But, that's not what they did. They did the "couple moves and lay around for 5 minutes" thing. And that detracts from the quality of the match. It was "move, lay, lay, move, lay". There are better ways to convey that guys are "hurting" than that.

Don't get me wrong, this was clearly the best match of the night, and was very good, borderline great. But, it just wasn't elite.

9) Edge vs. Big Show vs. Cena - This match should have been the main-event, for three reasons. 1) It was the more interesting of the two title matches, 2) It was actually ABOUT the title, not a personal feud, and 3) It suffered from the euphoric letdown from the HBK vs. Taker match.

This match was very solid, about as good of a Triple Threat match as you could reasonably expect, especially given the differing styles of the performers. You could tell the live crowd was very entertained by the match, because they tried so hard to get into it, but they were just emotionally drained from the Taker/HBK match. But, when Cena won the title, they popped huge, showing their appreciation for the match and the winner. Good solid match, and should have been the main-event.

10) Hall of Fame - It's nice that they always recognize those in the Hall of Fame for the year. But the Austin thing? It was terrible. I hope to God that Austin never shows up on WWE TV again, otherwise what we watched last night was just a terrible waste of time, doing the same thing he's done for over 10 years now. If it was his farewell address, then fine. I can take that, one last show for the road. But, if it wasn't, then it was a waste of time.

11) HHH vs. Orton - Then again, if I had known how awful this match was going to be, I'd ask that Austin stay out in the ring for another 15 minutes. Never in my life, would I have expected this match to be this bad. I'm not even a big fan of HHH, and have long criticized his ability to work a match, but this match even surprised me with how bad it was. There was no build to the match, they didn't have the crowd into the match, and the ending was so anti-climatic, you would think that it was the third match of the night and the heel won. What a terribly booked match, and a complete waste of time. It never should have main-evented to begin with, and with the performance they put on, it shouldn't have even been close to the last match of the night.

I was SO terribly disappointed with this match, and it just kind of leaves a bad taste in the mouth of what was otherwise a very enjoyable 'Mania.

If I was rating this 'Mania out of 100, I'd probably give it a 78 out of 100. If the main-event had actually been about a World title, AND hadn't been a completely terrible match, it probably would have been bumped up to the low 90s. But the main-event and Kid Rock just took SOOO much from this show.

Anyways, I'll be buying this on Blu-Ray, but when I re-watch it, I can tell you that I'll be skipping Kid Rock and won't bother with the main-event. Everything else, I'll watch.

TheNextVinceRusso's thoughts on Wrestlemania 25(there will be no out of 5 or out of 10 ratings here because thats gay):

Money In the Bank- the black men stole the show(mark Henry and MVP not included, so basically only kofi and shelton stole the show). It was a great opener and i had a blast watching it but still it was probably the least remarkable of all the money in the bank matches as forseen.

Kid Rock-lol at when he paused for the crowd to sing along and nobody did.

25 Diva battle Royal- Santino wins in the most memorable wrestlemania moment of the 25th anniversary of wrestlemania. This was fucking awesome. People who criticize this are just stupid and are most likely not fun to hang out with.

Jurassic Park 4- should have been just steamboat and jericho, when those 2 were in there it was great. Snuka really embarassed himself. The aftermatch involving Rourke was entertaining although Rourke wins the worst haircut contest (only because tyson kidd did not get booked).

THE FIRST INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH AT WRESTLEMANIA IN 7 YEARS- is over in like 20 seconds or some shit. Rey had fucking sick entrance attire, probably the best of the night. JBL quits as predicted and got the biggest pop of his career when he did so(the post above me said no one cared but clearly 70 000 in Houston did based on that reaction).

Hardy vs. Hardy- the second best match of the night. Jeff literally breaking his ass combined with the twist of fate in the chair made this match pretty sweet. WTF VACUUM????

Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels- unbelivable(in a very good way). BY FAR the best match of the night. One of the best matches ive seen in a while, lived up to everything it was supposed to be. It was exciting and thrilling and words cant really do it justice. Shawn Michaels fucked himself up with that moonsault and the cameraman got owned with the biggest suicide dive in captivity by the undertaker. once again a great match.

Clusterfuck- at least the did the right thing with Cena going over. Vickie got "speared" (i use that term very loosely) which was nice to see. This match confirmed my belief that Cena is a fucking tank, lifting both Big Show and Edge was amazingly impressive, mad props to Cena for that. Big show is a slug and should never main event ever again but still this match was passable.

Orton vs. Triple H- ................................

I was drunk with my friends so i naturally had fun watching the show and in the end thats really all that matters. upon further review Undertaker HBK should have main evented. The show was booked so horribly leading in my expectations were low so it did live up to them. There have been much better manias but i had fun what can i say? ......wait wasn't there a tag title match?

Just a quick further note as this was my first time watching a wwe event in HD and i must say kudos to Sky (in the UK) for not charging anymore on top of the box office price for HD feed, it looks so clear and crisp, i switched to the standard def showing just to see the diffence and its totally noticeable. To bad the show was pretty much a total suckfest save for taker & hbk and steamboat

To me it sucked for one and only one reason. HHH won. If Orton had won, it would have been average for me, with the biggest disappointment that the Divas match was on the PPV and not the Tag Match. I hate the fact that HHH won. He has lost to everyone at Mania, why not to Orton.

Wrestlemania 25 was the absolute worst wun in history. Its to the point where i dont even wanna watch Raw tonight. It just shows the low point that the WWE has been reduced to.

First off, why did CM Punk win the money in the bank....again? He was a failure as champion last year and quite frankly does not deserve another shot. If anything it should have been Christian, better yet..it should have been Kane. But no, they gave it to Punk's ass AGAIN. And the best pure athelete, the man that made this match famous is each year reduced to nothing more than a glorified jobber/stuntman (im refering to benjamin). Awful ending

then you go onto the divas match. The least they could have did was introduce each diva. I didnt know who most of them even were. They gave no mention to the fact that Torrie Wilson, Molly Holly and other great divas were there..but the ending with Santino was oretty funny tho

this match completely board me.....until Ricky Steamboat came in and gave a stellar performance for a man well in his middle ages. Just amazing. Other than that, the match was terrible

Matt vs Jeff...Decent match..there could have been ALOT more build up tho

Undertaker vs. HBK was one of the greatest matches ive ever seen. The crowd was totally into it and they gave a performance that kept you on the edge of ur seat from bell to bell. It actually shudda went on last. Classic match up

Rey vs JBL.......lmaoo

The triple threat for the title was not only a waste of time, but possibly the most predicable and boring matches of the night. Omg Cena won...no shit. Terrible match

RAndy Orton vs HHH was by far the WORST main event in the history of wrestlemania. why in Gods name would they have HHH win? that was his time to pass tho torch to Randy orton. It was a squash match no less! Orton got his ass whipped. Overall this match was a major dissapointment.

the entire PPV was a disapointment! I am seriously considering filing a law suit against WWE for my 50bucks back. Wrestlemania 25 sucked totally and thats that. period

Agreed. I don't have a major problem with Punk winning, because I think they are setting up Punk to cash the case in and LOSE this time. The M.I.T.B. has become more about "who's the next first-time champion?" than "Who's the #1 contender?" If Punk loses his cash-in, it creates a little more mystique.

On the contrary, if WWE has a major star go down with a steroid violation and they need a squeeky-clean poster child, enter Mr. Punk.

Overall very enjoyable. I was terrified that Benjamin hurt himself bad on that one spot, because he didn't tuck very well. The spot with Henry holding the ladder and Kofi running up it was awesome - Henry played a strong supporting role in this match.

Terrible..

Again, agreed. I get it - they want to parallel the entertainment industry. And Kid Rock has been good to WWE with the American Bad Ass work and now his recent stuff. But - meh. I was waiting for Santino to come out in the Mankini and run a segment with Kid Rock like with Snoop Dog last year. Alas, so saviour.

4) Diva Battle Royal - Meh, it was what you'd expect. Santino winning, and then dancing afterwards was somewhat amusing, the match wasn't terrible, it was good seeing some older Divas in there...but it was still a Battle Royal, and a Diva Battle Royal at that..

It was time filler. Neat 10 minutes. Santino is a riot. Join the Fan-a-Club.

I know some people like to crap over Rourke being there, and how long it took him to get in the ring, and how Austin should have made an appearance, but if you quit over-analyzing the segment, it was pretty interesting..

Steamboat was epic. The man has aged so well, and has kept SO MUCH of his respectability in tact, whereas Piper and Snuka have regressed in terms of likability. The whole thing was a pleasant surprise, and Rourke looked great.

6) I didn't expect much in the way of quality in this match, but I feel like the first few minutes were pretty good. There was some solid storytelling in the match, a couple of memorable spots, but all believable. However, after the first half of the match, the Hardys just degenerated into a mindless and messy spotfest of a match. It was "spot", "lay around" and "spot" again. The Hardy's didn't do a good job working the crowd, just popping them with mindless spots. Thus, I was disappointed, even though the match exceeded my expectations..

I actually agree with most of this. I was intregued by how this match could potentially go from the get go, and the opening was great. They NEVER should have brought out ladders. We both know that Matt and Jeff are known for the ladder - we get it, so stop it. we just watched MITB, and the ladder was played out by then. The match would have been 10 times better without feeling the need for Jeff to do his ladder spots.

Matt's finish was sick, though.

And JBL quitting was...well, I don't know..

Mysterio and the annual superhero thing is just silly. Pointless. Anyway, JBL could get heel heat ANYWHERE. It's just a shame they didn't use Austin here, after JBL talked about how there were "no real men left in Texas." Opportuntiy blown.

There are better ways to convey that guys are "hurting" than that.

Don't get me wrong, this was clearly the best match of the night, and was very good, borderline great. But, it just wasn't elite..

The match was terrific. Epic. I liked th near falls, because you've built this match as being between the two men who pull out ALL the stops at Wrestlemania. We had DVR for this, and we rewound just to see the reaction on the faces of fans when a kickout occured. Shock written all across their visages, each time.

I can promise that the "camera guy" who failed to protect The Undertaker on that suicide dive is now unemployed. 'Taker looked PISSED that the guy missed his assignment.

MOTY thus far.

9) Edge vs. Big Show vs. Cena - This match should have been the main-event, for three reasons. 1) It was the more interesting of the two title matches, 2) It was actually ABOUT the title, not a personal feud, and 3) It suffered from the euphoric letdown from the HBK vs. Taker match.

But, when Cena won the title, they popped huge, showing their appreciation for the match and the winner. Good solid match, and should have been the main-event..

Agreed 100%. I texted NorCal, just to discuss the fact that Cena squatted 735 lbs of VERY awkward weight, only to have some of it redistribute and hop off. Cena's going to eventually have a massive back issue - slipped or herniated discs - and this is the reason why. But the weight he lifted was boderline unfathomable for a man his size.

But, if it wasn't, then it was a waste of time..

I liked to see Austin get his time with the fans. The man did so much for Vince and WWE - let him have his moment in the sun. No need to crap all over it.

What a terribly booked match, and a complete waste of time. It never should have main-evented to begin with, and with the performance they put on, it shouldn't have even been close to the last match of the night..

Oh god agreed. Awful. Just puss.

Overall, Sly, you and I saw last night in a very similar light.

Agreed on just about everything. I loved the MiTB match, and marked out when I saw Finlay breaking out the old school jacket. Hornswoggle even slightly entertained me.

Kid Rock was a waste. Not only did he sound like crap, but he looked it, and I made sure to refresh my snacks and take a piss during his segment. I missed the opening of the Battle Royal because I got in to what I was reading.

The Triple H v. Orton match really pissed me off. When they hit their finishers 5 minutes in, I knew it was going to turn to even more shit quickly. The only time I was entertained was when the table didn't break, and HHH landed face first on it. They could've done so much more to build up the win, especially with the rule change by Vickie.

I do agree with you, I believe the Triple threat match should have been the main event. I thought that was the most entertaining match of the night.

The HBK and Undertaker match was so overrated it wasn't even funny. They destroyed the credibility of all there finishers and towards the end of the match it got extremely sloppy and very slow. But HBK and Taker were in it, so obviously it had to be the greatest match in WM history

I honestly liked the Hardy match. Some of the spots were sick, and the whole Twist of Fate at the end made it all worth it.

MITB- I enjoyed this match, the fans were marking like crazy every time MVP got close to the ladder. I also enjoyed the Hornswoggle and step stool thing. Too bad they let a 100 pound leprechaun knock over like 1000 pounds of Human flesh. Also, the huge Henry slam was awesome. Too bad the ending killed the entire match.

Kid Rock- Whole thing sucked and he looked like an idiot with those glasses..

Battle Royal- Was actually funny. Too bad I couldn't pick out all of the former divas outside of Torrie and Sunny. The ending was pretty funny, and Santina dancing at the end was freaking hilarious.

HHH v Orton- This match just sucked, why have Priceless and the McMahon family show up, but have no involvement? I don't get it. I wasn't pissed about HHH winning because that whole feud would have been fucking stupid if Orton won.

Cena v Edge v Big Slow- Luckily this match saved it for me. I was entertained throughout the match and having Cena put two men on his shoulders was excellent. And his crowd celebration owned.

So all in all I thought it was a good mania, not great, and it sure as hell wasn't the worst mania ever.

I am going with the consensous here and saying this is one of the worst Mania's ever. It is in the bottom 5. Not THE worst, I think 15, 2, 9, and maybe 13 were worse, but that's not saying much. Definately not worth the 55 bucks. I should have just waited and downloaded it the next day. I ordered it for Taker/HBK, MITB, and Orton/HHH, and only one of those matches lived up to expectations.

I am basing my ratings on entertainment value. I don't care about technical wrestling or anything like that. This is sports entertainment and its scripted. I want to be entertained plain and simple. I look at wrestling just as I look at Law & Order or Family Guy. They are actors. Give me a good show.

MITB- MITB now stands for Men In Tights Botching, because almost every other move was botched. The biggest ones were Shelton's powerbomb on MVP off the ladder and Christian's Unprettier on CM Punk. There was just random overall sloppiness to this match. It was the worst MITB I've ever seen. Even worse than WM 22 with Flair in it, and that was hard to be worse than. CM Punk winning didn't make it any better. This guy is the mid card Cena for me. I am sick and tired of him, and he hasn't shown me anything new. He is a one trick dog. 4/10

Kid Rock - I didn't order a PPV to watch a corny ass 90s rock concert. I didn't order a PPV to watch the Tag unification match get bumped to a dark match for this bullshit. Who the fuck cares about Kid Rock in 2009? Let me rephrase that, because its not about Kid Rock per say. Why the fuck do we have a mini rock concert at a Wrestling show? I want to watch wrestling, fuck Kid Rock or any other musician for that matter. I want wrestling, not singing. I was shouting to the heavens for this to end! 0/10

25 Diva Battle Royal- Santino comes out in drag and wins. This was WWE's attempt to be funny. This was the comedy segment. I like Santino, but this was a FAIL. I couldn't even tell who was who in the ring, because pervert Vince wants all diva's to dye their hair blonde and wear bras and pantie wrestling attire. Pointless. I was not entertained. 2/10

Jericho vs. 3 legends- I didn't expect anything going into this match which actually benefited the match. I was surprised by Steamboat, and I was entertained. This was one of the better moments of the match. I actually wanted Steamboat to go over via an assist from the dirtiest player in the game. However, it wouldn't make sense, as Steamboat is retired...but I personally would've liked it. Steamboat and Jericho worked well together. Steamboat is still a perfectionist. I saw shades of WM3 in Steamboat. 7/10

JBL vs Rey- Meh. Rey coming out as the Joker was pretty cool, nothing else really worth mentioning. I was surprised JBL got squashed. My wife loved it, she thought it was funny, especially when he quit at the end. Let's see where this angle goes, and let's see how Rey does as IC Champ. 4/10

Hardy vs Hardy- This match pumped me up. I like Matt Hardy's new image. He needs to get away from being a watered down Jeff. He needs to use the template he has now, and just make some tweaks. Add a few different moves to his moveset. Excellent spots. Hardy's splash through the double table was awesome. Twist of fate through a chair was sweet as well. 2nd best match of the night, and I would watch again. 8/10

HBK vs Undertaker- Do I really have to say anything here? Really? This match was the best match I have ever seen, I don't give a shit what anyone says. This was the greatest match I have ever seen, and I have seen them ALL. I was thoroughly entertained, and on the edge of my seat the whole time. The streak, storyline, promos, crowd reaction, everything was just electric. The streak is more important than a World Title. That's what made this match so good. The Streak. 17-0. Angle/Michaels didn't have these implications. Taker/Angle NWO didn't. Savage/Steamboat, Rock/Hogan, didn't have a 16-0 streak on the line. THINK ABOUT THAT. That's what makes this match SOOOOOOO great. 11/10.

The scores of the main events are lowered because they followed the best match in WWE history.

Triple Threat- Jesus H. Christ what an awful match. OMG. There was no swerve, no storyline development, no entertaining spots, nothing. We could've seen this match on RAW or Smackdown!. This was no WM match. Cena gets the clean pin? What the hell? Do they not hear the rampant boos for this guy? We are bored with the same old shit with Cena. Edge is overrated. He oversells, and looks too comical for me in the ring. We need Big Show to be a straight up heel or face because the crowd doesn't know how to react to him. Its just silence when he comes out now. 5/10

HHH vs Orton- I am not with you guys in being mad that HHH went over. The heel shouldn't go over the face at WM when the storyline was as personal as it has been. I would've put HHH over too if I was in charge. Orton needed to get his from a storyline perspective. Orton is 28, he will have many more opportunities to go over HHH who is at least 5 years away from retiring. The match could've been better though. I would've been more into it if it didn't follow Taker/HBK which should've closed the show. I don't care about Titles, they are props. Let the streak close Mania. Its what everyone came to see anyway.

Overall - 6/10. Taker/HBK saved this from being the worst Mania on record. Hardy/Hardy was solid, and Jericho/Dinosaurs was pretty solid. Only 2 PPV quality matches though. I think this is because WWE has such a rough schedule, these guys are burned out. They don't have enough energy. They need to lighten up the schedule so that they can have more energy for the PPV's.

Here is my take on the event...

Firstly, I thought the Reliant Stadium looked immense and the crowd was obviously befitting of a Wrestlemania audience. So it definately had the 'Mania feel to it from that standpoint. The staging and the ways in which the show were shot were immense in my opinion, as were the the pyro displays...so well done Kevin Dunn for that!

Overall, a nice way to start the show but don't think CM Punk should have won as it just felt like last year's match all over again at that point!

Anyway, hat goes off to Ricky Steamboat...he was impressive and his exchanges thankfully saved the match.

Some nice exchanges here and Edge managed to make the other two look good.

Good show and ultimately well done WWE once again! Def not as bad imo as a lot of people think.

PS... Austin's segment was great! It brought a nice sense of nostalgia if nothing else....

Also, I quite enjoyed the commentating trio of JR, Cole and King...

I think this show was an ok show, but a terrible Wrestlemania. Any other show of the year save for maybe Summerslam and this was good. For the biggest show of the year though it bombed for me. Taker/HBK and the Triple Threat were excellent and MITB was ok. Other than that, it just didn't flow at all. This is a show where if the match order had been different the show would have gone up in value for me. Maybe put the Diva Battle Royal after HBK/Taker to give the crowd some cheap filler. It would also allow them to have gotten their entrances, which was something that really bothered me.

sly,i pretty much agree with you on everything.though the main event was a bit dull and could of been a lot better,i was let down cuz i had high expectations for this match.but it didnt deliver.but i still thought it wasent a terrible match.the diva match.now that was terrible.
but i thought it was ok for what it was.down right awful finish.i honestly thought orton was going to kick out...and when it didnt.i was just sitting there thinking...is that it?is that how your going to end a show?almost made orton look like a complete joke.i was pissed.
after that match i really dont want to see another hhh and orton match.they just arint that good together in the ring.good story telling but as far as wrestling a match together.just awful!
