Rate the Debut

In this weeks version of Rate the Debut I decided to change it up. I decided to compare two debuts and see which one is ranked higher. The reason I decided to do this was because these two debuts/re-debuts were defiantly 5/5 rated and I saw no reason to do them separately. Before I start I think they both are almost prefect, but which one do you like more.

There they are.... Jericho debuts as Y2J and HHH returns after missing the whole Invasion angles. Both stand out to me as pinnacle Mark the F out moments. Which do you prefer?

Well, Jericho's is the only debut, so Jericho.

HHH's return was not a re-debut because people knew he was returning as HHH. A re-debut would have been going from Hunter Hearst Helmsley to HHH, or Rocky Maivia to The Rock.

I have to go with Y2J.. I mean, it was the moment when you stopped looking him as a WCW cruiserweight and started being a main event!!! The countdown was awsome and the fact that he debuted trash talking against THE ROCK and look good doing it!!! Not anyone can do that.

Triple H returned, didn't make a debut. Title of the thread should be altered to be something like, "Rate the Reaction" or "Rate the Impact", not rate the debut.

And it isn't eventful.. At all! So, like Dowds, due to Triple H's option not being his debut, obviously Y2J.

I don't see why you feel to be so technical. Rate the one you like most. This was his post invasion debut.

Y2Js debut was the last of the great debuts, it was right before the internet took off to the point it is now, and there was hardly any IWC, the fact that it wasn't spoiled for the majority of people made it 10x more epic.
Not to mention WWE creative had a stroke of genius when they decided to make this debut vs Rocky, The most sensationally over + gifted speaker in the WWE at the time. Y2J needed to instantly connect with the crowd, or the Rock would bury him, and we may of never seen the Y2J Persona blossom.

It is definitely Y2J's debut. Those videos were perfect, they coincided with the whole Y2K craze and really tapped into emotion outside of wrestling. Then, to make it EVEN BETTER, they paired him with The Rock. Rocky was one of the hottest superstars at the time, and him and Jericho, two of the greatest mic workers ever, put on a show. Jericho at that point, looked like a star. His debut pushed him to a whole other level. He was a totally different person than he had been in WCW. That right there defines how good of a debut it was. Immediately, Y2J was already a legitimate star, and all he had done was talk on the mic for a few minutes. That is probably the best debut ever.

It's interesting to read Jericho's new book, he wasn't impressed at all with his own debut... but the reality is that we all wish we could do things differently or better... but to the wrestling community watching it what he did was pretty damn near perfect... He was NEVER...EVER... going to come out on top over the Rock that night... but he did enough to make the biggest debut splash of the 90's other than Taker...

i strogly dislike y2j (jericho), didnt care to much for his debut, and dislike his in-ring abilities.
triple hhh's return wasnt a debut, but i did like seeing him back, so, i choose triple hhh.

It's "you're" if you are trying to abbreviate "you are". "Your" refers to relationship/ownership. Don't mean to home school you, but darn it all, others may have failed you in that respect but I wont!

For the record I preferred the HHH return over the Jericho debut.

Let me simplify it for you, even if your right which your not. I asked you which one you liked most. So vote for the one you do.

Yes he is right.

Let me simplify it for you, as you clearly do not understand what a debut is.
Triple H's was a RETURN after injury. not a debut. A Triple H debut would be his made his 1st WWE appearance. I could even say Triple H debuting a new character/gimmick would be a debut, but this was not. It was a return from injury.

Jericho's IS a debut as it was the 1st time he showed up in WWE

Both events are great moments, with great crowd reactions but as only one is an actual DEBUT, the only choice is Jericho's
