Rap Fans, I Need Your Help

I'm not much of a rap fan, but I do listen to it if I find the right stuff. For me, that right stuff is upbeat, catchy rap and I'm looking for more of it. Thats where you come in. I cant find anything. I already have Kanye's newest and its pretty good. I like Power, Runaway, and Dark Fantasy. I heard two Kid Cudi songs, Erase Me and Make Her Say, and I like those too. But when I listened to his latest album, its was a bit...boring for my likes. I'm thinking about checking out Lupe Fiasco next.

So based on that bit of rambling, can you guys help me out?

OutKast has some of the best rap/hip hop out there. I recommend Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, if you haven't already listened to it all. Everyone knows Hey Ya and The Way You Move, but those aren't even close to the best songs on each disc. There's so much variety throughout the albums.

Most of their albums are pretty good, but in my opinion, Speakerboxxx/The Love Below is your best bet. It's catchy throughout, and I've been listening to it for months without getting bored.

Mac Dre, Hot Boy$, Big Mello, Snoop Dogg, Tha Dogg Pound, A Tribe Called Quest, Outkast, Three 6 Mafia, Wu Tang Clan, Nas, 2pac, E-40, Joey Spectakular, Del Tha Funkee Homosapian, Jeru The Damaja, Gang Starr, DJ Quik, MC Eiht, etc....

Oh, and don't listen to Tech 9, he fuckin' sucks.

Good fucking NESS Nickatina and fucking Tech N9ne? Really? Do you want the kid to hate rap?

Angel got the closest, still some shit in there.

You are definately on the right track with Cudi and Fiasco though, especially the latter. His first album is fucking amazing. The only two rappers whose albums I would buy these days.

Lupe Fiasco is a great listen. Eminem is amazing. The little I've heard from Royce Da 5'9 is good. NWA. Tupac. Kanye has some good stuff.

I'm not sure about what more intelligent rap fans think about it, but Monster by Kanye, Jay-Z, and Nicki Minaj is a song I like. Nicki Minja and Drake could be good or bad depending on what you like.

Coming from a Lil' Wayne hater, 6 Foot, 7 Foot is a pretty good song. I also liked Black and Yellow by Wiz Khalifa.

Just some suggestions from my somewhat limited yet decently intelligent opinion.

Dr. Dre. Simple. And of course....

You know I was going to walk in, make some knowledgeable suggestions, but no fuck you all for dissing on some good rappers.

Since I'm here: Bone Thugs-n-Harmony.

You're welcome.

Just to get a more knowledgable opinion on what's good and bad, what rappers are you refering to?

Also, I forgot Kid Cudi. He's good.

Here's more:

Too $hort, Nate Dogg, Warren G, Atmosphere, Murs, Living Legends, Eligh, The Grouch, Nas, Brotha Lynch Hung, Mobb Deep, KRS-One, K-OS, Brother Ali, Eyedea and Abilities, Dialated Peoples, Evidence, SPM, Crooked I, Chino XL, Slaughterhouse, Celph-Titled, Raekwon, RZA, Inspectah Deck, Canibus, Q-Tip, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Killer Mike, Chamillionaire, UGK, Bun B, Pimp C, Cypress Hill, Dead Prez, Eazy E, Lil Eazy E, The Foreign Exchange, Kno, G-Sides, Cunninglynguists, 7L and Esoteric, Freddie Gibbs, Guru, Heltah Skeltah, Ill Bill, Ice Cube, Ice T, Joell Ortiz, Krayzie Bone, Lil Wyte, J Dilla, Madlib (for his instrumentals), Method Man, Memphis Bleek, Scarface, Slick Rick, Rakim and Eric B, Sage Francis, Trae the Truth, Z-Ro, Twista's old material (Adernaline Rush), WC

And give Tech N9ne a chance, you may like him. If you don't, just move on to the next artist. Just because some people don't appreciate the rapid fire flow and tongue twisting lyrics shouldn't discourage you from at least giving him a try.

This song isn't bad.

Second this, I was bumping the shit out of it just a bit ago when I went to go get smokes.

I had the up in smoke tour, and I was a horny typical teenage male. I fucking loved this song. The song was epic, and when they sang it on the dvd was awesome.

"you acting like you don't do dick, that's the kind of bitch I ain't fucking with"

Kid Cudi, Wu Tang Clan, Boot Camp Click, Jedi Mind Tricks, Apathy, Eminem of course, old Three 6 Mafia, Jay-Z and Sean Price.

That whole 2001 album really solidified myself as a hip hop fan. Great album from beginning to end, even the massive amount of filler songs at the end were pretty damn good.

It's a shame the follow up to such a classic is gonna be shit and everyone's gonna eat it up even though it wont' even be in the same realm as 2001.

I'm stoked for his new album. but at the same time, I don't want people like lady gaga, Lil wayne and shit singing songs with him. Eminem, Snoop and 50 is fine, but please, I know he is doing it to get more fans and to stay relevant but He needs to stay "old school" so to speak.
