Punk vs. Mysterio- It's Bound To Happen

Punk vs. Mysterio is bound to happen at Wrestlemania 26 but I'm not going to focus on the match itself. I'm going to focus on the buildup to the match. We all know how Punk likes to preach that straightedge is the way to go and that he is better than everybody else. It worked with Hardy because Jeff had a history with drug use and that was the highlight of Punk's career. His preaching to the masses hasn't worked as effectively because of his opponents. The message just isn't the same when he is preaching it to the Undertaker as it was to Hardy.

Punk has talked about how Mysterio hides under his mask and whatnot. There's something else Punk can use as fodder. Mysterio's close relationship with Eddie Guerrero. We all have grown sick and tired of all the Eddie storylines in the past but I wouldn't put it behind Punk to bring up Guerrero's past alcohol and drug abuse and how it caused his death. I wouldn't agree with it but at least they can create something similar to what he had with Hardy.

Two questions....

1. Do you think Punk should bring up Guerrero's alcohol and drug abuse in his feud with Mysterio?

2. Would it help Punk recreate the intense rivalry he had with Hardy and how does it help both him and Mysterio?

Actually I don't think WWE should go so far as to hand Punk a script that basicly allows him to run a promo on a guy that is not involved in the feud, and let alone a dead Hall of Famer.

But that's just my opinion, I think if WWE does that, it just goes into one of Wrestling Observer newsletter's many award candidates for the "most disgusting promotional tactic" because it's using a past horrible scenario to further a feud.
Certainly it would fire up on the crowd and Rey Mysterio more importantly, but I think it would be disrespectful, and I think it wouldn't serve the proper purpose of the feud, because all in all it's about CM Punk and Rey mysterio, so I think they should keep it at Rey Mysterio's potential faults.

It has worked for Chris Jericho to run a complete feud around the object that is Rey Mysterio's mask, so I don't see why CM Punk couldn't run a promo or feud around that, and to perhaps add something into Rey's past history of knee injuries and to throw a little spice into it by claiming that Rey certainly must've been using some kind of pill to handle the pains.

Either that or let CM Punk run a promo on how Rey was suspended last year.

The problem you have their is a simple one Kenan. If you have Punk go on an Eddie rant that in turn would bring Vickie into the feud, Vickie in turn would become face and she's one of the most over heels in the company. Why bring in someone else not in the feud? Let alone a dead guy, that's just really bad taste in my opinion.

I think this would be an interesting move on the WWE's part. However I don't think that'd be the way to go to build up the feud. Honestly, with the amount of times Mysterio has been out due to knee surgery, I would have Punk call him on it and say he has an addiction to pain killers. This would then tie into hiding behind his mask. Punk could go on to say due to your pain killer addiction you hide behind your mask, too scared to show your face to the masses.

Onto the second part of your post. While it couuld potentially create an intense rivalry for the two, personally I think a lot of people would not like it. I have a feeling most fans wouldn't find this refreshing, so much as really milking Eddie Guerrero's death as if they hadn't already done so.

I dont think bringing Eddie and Vickie would be the right choice simply its bad taste. The man has passed away Hence the term Rest In Peace and if they bring Eddie into this nobody will be at peace.

I think the angle where Punk speaks about how Mysterio hides under his mask. Would be the best choice for these two. Also I think A stipulation like Hair Vs Mask would be good because if Punk loses it means that Punk is brought down to Luke and Serena's Level.

No, Punk is one of my favorite wrestlers and I wouldn't like him insulting one of my past favorite wrestlers. He is good enough on the mic to work against Mysterio over anything else, but Eddie. Plus this storyline will only go up to Wrestlemania I suppose since Mysterio will be taking some time off after that to get surgery. They should just make it a hair vs mask match like the poster above me said. That would be cool even though I wouldn't like CM Punk to go bald since there is already many bald dudes in there(Randy, Cena, Batista, etc). Plus it wouldn't help for his preaching gimmick since he looks like he is trying to do like a Jesus look with the beard and the long hair.
