At the moment, pornographic material showing adults over the age of 16 or 18 (depending on which country) is legal. Child pornography is entirely illegal at the moment, and it would be very hard indeed to argue that it be legalised.
Many people find a use out of pornography, whether it be videos bought, the web, top shelf magazines, or simply Page 3. Everyone knows where to find pornography if they wanted to, yet I think it's also easy to avoid.
So, should pornography be banned for moral, religious, feminist or crime prevention reasons?
Personally I say no. I don't know anyone that gets offended by it even though we are assured there are many. Pornography, as long as both adults know they are being filmed/taken photos of, and consent to all the uses of it, is not a crime. There's nothing wrong with people watching it or buying it.
As for the feminists I depsise, who say it's only "objectifying women", I disagree. If a woman wants to be known for her body then let her be. Some feminists are supposedly all for womens rights, yet then try and stop them being involved in pornography. If they want to be, it's up to them. It's the same as simply being known for your intelligence; should we stop that too?
