Popular/critically acclaimed movies that you hate

Many movies that bore me to tears I can give examples of. Titanic was really overrated and boring, I could care less what happen to anyone on that ship even though it was a true story. Other movies I couldn't sit through were Shakespeare in Love and Elizabeth.

Schindler's List is held as a classic but it's another movie I find totally mind numbing and boring. I love Stanley Kubrick but 2001: A Space Odyssey is another movie I cant sit through. I know it was groundbreaking for it's time and I appreciate that, but there is no story or anything spectacular going on throughout the film to keep my interest.

I saw The Blind Side and thought it was way too sappy and unoriginal for everyone being so excited about it. It was a decent film but very average to me. As far as comedies go, There's Something About Mary didn't cut it for me.

It was extreme and coming of age for when it came out, but it was one of those movies where I didn't laugh once. No one in the audience was laughing either. It was trying to be too funny and too over the top. I'll also say that The Hangover did have some funny parts to it, but there is no reason for it to be held as the greatest comedy of all time.

There isn't a lot of funny comedies now a days, but The Hangover isn't The Holy Grail of comedies. I'm sure if I think of some others movies I will post them.

Napoleon Dynamite, and A History Of Violence. Napoleon Dynamite was just stupid, and History of Violence was bad all around. The acting was bad (especially that chick that Viggo Mortensen was banging), the plot was confusing, and the violence and blood just seemed tacked on.

First film that came to mind was Burn After Reading. Really just terribly boring and pointless. My reaction to it was the same as what happens in the last scene, the government agents look over all the crazy shit that's happened, shrug their shoulders and just go about their day.

The Boondock Saints.

God awful film.

Absolutely. The only people who seem to enjoy it are those too dull to understand just how poor of a "crime" film it is. And the script? Holy fuck it's a joke.

A fucking men. I'd take The Punisher as a more serious crime film than that abomination.

But it's got guns and Irish accents and blood! That means it's a good movie, right?

Anything by Tarentino, Peter Jackson, and James Cameron.

With the exceptions of Reservoir Dogs, Dead Alive (Brain Dead) and Avatar, respectfully.

I'm with the Boondock Saints crowd. So overrated, I'd be more entertained by having Sheamus recite Sam Jackson's "Path of the Righteous Man" speech from Pulp Fiction.

Now, there's a documentary, the name escapes, about the making of Boondock Saints, that SO much better than the actual movie. You actually see how deluded and self-serving the guy who made Saints is. And he's completely unaware of how much of an ass he is, yet you SEE how pissed off he's making his crew. Fuckin magical.

That and I Heart Huckabees. That is not a good movie. But it was shown in my school's philosophy class, so half the people I know are obsessed with "existential" it is. Fuckin' hell, the only good parts of the movie are when Mark Wahlberg is being a dick.
