Pokemon X and Y Wants and Expectations

Mac Attack

I'm neat.
Ok so some of you may or may not know that I'm a huge Pokemon enthusiast. I'm one of those people who goes as far as to IV and EV train and then enter competitions. I've taken extreme interests into the next generation of Pokemon and so I wanted to start some discussion on it in a non spam form so here is this thread for discussing your wants for the next generation.

My first personal want for the game is for their to be a large variety of Pokemon types right at the start of the game. I find too often the starting types you can get are too similar and for once I'd enjoy possibly starting out with either a dragon or water, or even physic type. I've never liked bug or grass Pokemon so a change would be very welcomed.

Secondly, I really want an interesting antagonist group storyline. Team Plasma set the bar really high in Gen 5 and so we need another interesting storyline. I have a feeling it'll be something involving fairies however I don't know I just want interesting.

I want type distribution balancing. I find certain Gens stress different those and I want it to be relatively even. Right now I'm fearful we may have a large fire group however hopefully it balances.

I have a few more wants but will wait to see what others want before I post mine.

Wow. I'm surprised no-one has replied to this.
Much like you, I'm a huge Pokemon fan. Since blue, red and yellow, I've been hooked.
For this game? I want surprises. You come across Pokemon you would never think of being designed.
I want hidden secrets that you have to keep playing AFTER you've completed the game, just so it keeps you hooked.
I'd like to see customisation in your appearance.
I'd really like to see all the Pokemon in the game. Much like Pokemon Black, only appears in certain seasons and shit.
I want a game that surpasses every other Pokemon game that has made. And from what I've seen, It could be that.

Judging from videos shown it seems you can now go through a horde of wild Pokemon at once which sounds really intriguing. The Air Battle's aren't a concept I'm too wild on though since it's limited to Flying types. If Zapdos is in the game (probably a trade) that just makes the concept a big limitation. I'm also hoping they keep the amount of Legendary Pokemon toned down as with the last Gen since I'm still reeling from the ridiculous amount of them in Gen IV.

Yes I'm intrigued about the horde battles as well. It sounds more than anything as if it is a ploy in order for Pokemon in your party to learn multiple hit spot moves. I'm also thinking that it'll be great for experience if your Pokemon is indeed able to beat the entire horde. From what I could see a horde of Axew actually sounds really cool as apart from Blizzard there really isn't a multi hit move that could kill all of them at once.

I agree I'm not a huge fan of the idea of air battles however it depends as I'm not sure what the limitations will be. I'm hoping any Pokemon with flying potential will be allowed to participate however I'm not sure. All that is confirmed is Flying Pokemon + levitate.

Curious about gyarados....

Totally agree, the amount of legendarily in recent games is absurd. Especially since a good few of them are wifi event only. There shouldn't be any legendary that a common Pokemon player shouldn't know which oddly enough is the case in Gen 4 and 5.
