WCW TV TITLE HOLDER
lets just cut the chase, and get to the thick of things.

we talk, we talk, and i see and hear you guys talk and post your threads and whatnot, and i aint gonna lie.... you guys have some good opinions and knowledge of the wwe and its wrestlers..

but lets get real here, whos the best wrestler in the wwe? honestly

i know im gonna here a lot of triple h's, cena's, and maybe even edge but

well i'll start it off, i have to go with john cena

and i know a lot of ya's might hate to hear me say that but.....

cena is nothing but a great display of heart, passion, and just flatout toughness. i know there is always talk about, he cant wrestle, he's not technical, and he's just a brawler. but what i see is a guy with great power and speed, and like i said, you combine that with heart and passion, a man that actually wants to entertain fans, and give us his all, even if we hate him(and thats something thats hard to do) you cant knock his title reigns, he has beaten pretty much everybody and the best the wwe has had to offer him.

you cant say his title reigns were cheesy(i dont care if they were long) and their is something about him haters if you think about it, you wouldnt hate him so much if he didnt have appeal, he's a draw, you cant lie and say he isnt, you guys watch and pay to see him, even if you hate him and just wanna see him lose, you still wanna see him. the biggest and top dog in the wwe is him, and he doesnt even need the title, thats how big of a player he is, carrying raw.

whats your opinion's, im dying to see?

be honest, and be realistic please

lets go

Well I'm not a Cean hater myself, but I do think he is somewhat limited. He is all about entertainment! He's so good on the mic, he could sell ice to an Eskimo! But in the ring, his skills don't hold up to the likes of MVP, Kennedy, HHH, HBK, etc...etc. But I respect your opinion, and you're not exeactly wrong. He is a Main Event guy, and rightfully so.

In terms of Ring Skill, Mic Skill, Senoirity, Championship Reigns, Experience, Draw Factor and everything else. I would have to say Jericho is the best wrestler the WWE has right now.

Best perfomer:Shawn Michaels This is sad that a man thats 43 years old is still the best damn performer in WWE. Not saying that he shouldn't be all im saying is that at an older age the younger guys should be able to do more than the older guys since, well, they're younger. When ever Shawn Michaels has a match on the card i know that no matter what im going to see a great technical match

Best Asset:John Cena As much as i don't like him i have to give credit where its earned, Cena sells like lord knows what. Even when he is talking its something that draws me to his voice. For instance the Hall of Fame 2008.

There is to much to judge on who is the best in WWE because some people outweigh others in certain things but if i have to choose im going to go with Shawn. Know when i watch wrestling its not really for the entertainment its for the wrestling. Like i said when ever i go to the shows and Shawns name is on the card i know i will see atleast 1 hell of a match. He is entertaining and can carry the worst opponents to at good match. Which alot of stars to day can't do. Except Taker and Edge.

In all reality this needs to be split up in to several categories. I have three. I will be refering to the individuals as preformers beacuse this is an enertainment business, and in entertainment your a preformer.

Best in ring performer: Shawn Michaels Michaels my not be the best techical wrestler (that title going to Shelton Benjamin after Angle left) but he constantly throws down good matches. A man who is on the running for the best match of 2008 and and has won the Pro Wrestling Illustrated Match of the Year award and unprecedented 8 times deserves this honor.

Best out of ring performer: John Cena Though his wrestling skills leave something to be desired at the end of the day he may be the best man on the mic. His promos are excellent and he is mad over. Plus this man has my respect for going into PPV after PPV as champion, receiving all sorts of mad, verging on murderous, heat and standing tall. That shows somethign about his character.

Best all around performer: Triple H To be a 12 time world champion takes a mixture of both. Somethign about The Game creeping into the minds of his opponents defeating them before the match even starts has always intregued me. His promos are good and his wrestling is above average. He is among the best the WWE has ever had to offer, and has been for some time.

I might get crucified but:

Shelton Benjamin.

He can take spots and is just so athletic. I'm not taking into account his average mic skills because you asked for the best wrestler in the WWE. If I took everything into account.... I'd have to say that people like Cena/HBK/Undertaker are the best as they sell so much merchandise and draw people to shows.

Shawn Michaels - Constantly delivers high quality matches in the ring, very well done promo's outside the ring, and has a fantastic character built up.

you know what i agree with this, hbk is the most entertaining actually, i hate trips, but his performance and aurora about him, still intrigues my mind too.

although somebody said sheltonn too, i think he might have consideration for this, cuz he is roughly and argubuly the most athletic and pure athelete in the wwe

WWE has 2 top stars they have John Cena and no one else, cena is the top guy, the top draw. im not the big cenamark but i do believe that the harsh crticism towards cena is completely stupid. no one gets even close to the reaction that john cena gets not triple h not the undertaker and not shawn michaels yes i love all of those performers but the fact remains that cena is the man right now in the WWE and the way he has been booked since his return is appaling and foolish. yet he overcomes those decisions and is still the most over by far.

That however is not to say that there are people on the wwe roster who have the potential to become mega stars on level with cena theres just no one whos there yet and i do not think there will be anywhere who gets there in a while.

Best all around performer: Shawn Michaels.

No one delivers a match like Shawn Michaels. The fact that he outperforms much of WWE's younger talent while in his 40's and banged up from previous injuries shows just how great he is. No one tells a better story in the ring like Shawn and his promos are always passionate and believable.

A close second would be Edge. He plays his manipulative and cowardly character perfectly. Thus, he is easily the best heel of 2007 and 2008. He had a great feud with Undertaker and got some awesome matches out of Batista. We've seen him grow from back in the late 90's as a Tag Team competitor to mid card wrestler and finally main event. His promos are great and so are his wrestling abilities.

Honorable mentions (in order):
- Undertaker: Much like Shawn Michaels in that he defies aging, but his gimmick limits his promo abilities. I wish WWE would let him be more like he was in 1996-1997 where he actually spoke and cut decent promos outside of "Rest in Peace"

- John Cena: WWE's top draw right now. I got really sick of him after that year long reign but WWE is finally toning him down and making him beatable. He has been on quite a losing streak since his return and thus the Cena hate is slowly going away. His moveset may be limited but he is still very athletic and can be quite entertaining to watch. He has great promo skills. I especially liked the promo he cut on the RAW prior to GAB.

- Triple H: He has been consistent in the last few years and he continues to perform well in the ring despite multiple quad injuries. The reason I didn't place him higher is because he hasn't really changed at all in the last 8 years. It's getting stale. And of course, there's his politicking.

Best wrestler in the WWE? Shawn Michaels, easily. There simply isn't anyone on the roster that is his match in terms of overall package. His matches are always must see. He wasn't simply given the nicknames Showstopper and Mr. Wrestlemania, he earned them. (although, I think Mr. Wrestlemania is a nickname more appropriate for Hogan, but that is a different thread entirely) Shawn, at 43, manages to outwrestle 23 year olds. On the microphone, he is brilliant (his feud with Y2J is amazing in regards to the interview segments). HBK is the total package. Put him in the ring with a top notch opponent, you get matches that steal the show from the main event. Put him in the ring with an up and comer, he makes them look better than they are. Put him in the ring against a 58 year old, he makes sure we see the best match we have seen the 58 year old have in years. Really. Who other than HBK could have retired Flair, and ensured we still saw a good match, other than maybe Triple H? Thats the thing about HBK. He doesn't have to be in the main event to be involved in what's probably going to be the most entertaining match of the night...
