Playstation 3

I have generations on the 3DS.

Elder scrolls I'm debating as it's a fricking huge game, 100 hours is too big but I'd be happy with a 60 hour game.

As a fellow Nintendo loyalist, I would encourage you to give Elder Scrolls a go. It may be of truly epic proportions (I am approaching 90 hours I think and am nowhere near finished - haven't touched the main storyline missions in about 40 hours of play and have still only visited about 60% of the map, maybe less) but you will not be disappointed.

Red Dead Redemption is another game in a similar vein that I would like to play

If you have nothing against the Half Life series I suggest picking up The Orange Box. Half Life 2 + Episode 1 & 2, Portal included which makes Portal 2 a fair bit more enjoyable. You won't get anything out of TF2 on PS3 as a lack of updates has made the game fairly obsolete on consoles.

I'm not sure I see the relationship between Dynasty Warriors and God of War.

Dynasty Warriors is one of the most boringly redundant games ever, & GoW is fun, & packed for a action. Pretty sure there is no relationship between the two... other than they both have swords & shit in them.

It doesn't HAVE to be 100 hours long. It can be much shorter if you want it to be. And it still will be great fun if you just go straight through the main quest, without doing any of the side quests.

But video games are expensive, and Elder Scrolls is a great way to kill a LOT of time, while saving money for other games.

If you've played Dynasty Warriors, you'll understand the comment about redundancy.

Switch the titles of the two games, and that's how I feel about them.

Of course, I realize that "quality wise" GoW is far superior, but it bored me. Terribly. But I'll still play Dynasty Warriors every time my brother is in town and has the game with him.

Oh yes I'm getting one tomorrow. As a Nintendo fanboy who likes platformers and Adventure style games this is the console I've opted for ahead of the 360.

Boooo

2) What games should be on my radar? My list so far contains:

Assasins Creed 1 and 2
GOW collection 1 and 2(the one with the PSP games) as well as 3
Uncharted Trilogy
3D dot game heroes
WWE12

Assassins Creed games are top class, the second one in particular.

WWE 12 gets a bit shit after a while but I suppose it's the best wrestling game I've played.

Personally, I believe that Skyrim is a must-have.

Good news, Lee! Sony Smash Bros. just got announced:

It was a bit of a bargain £165 for the 160GB one where most places have it for £200 then I got Asassins creed 1 and 2 for £12. Bargains.

RE: God of War, I played the first one it was good.

Shocky are the PSP games worth playing?

So many good memories of the hydra level in the first God of War. I played, and enjoyed, the first PSP game. Chains of Olympus, isn't it? Probably only four, five hours. I had to play it through twice because of a glitch that wouldn't let me kill the final boss the first time round.

NinLee is your PSN ID then? I'll add you when I'm back at school.

You should do PS+ if they have it in the UK. The free shit pays for itself and it's usually fairly good material.

Initial impressions:

I'm impressed, it truly is a media machine.

The iPlayer app is better on the Wii though.

I still don't understand the point of this. I mean, I play my Playstation sporadically (meaning I'll get into a groove and play it all the time, and then get into periods where I don't play it at all, like right now), but how often do you play the same game at the same time as someone else when they are online?

Unless you game like it's your job, I just don't understand the big deal about adding people.

Facebook logic. The illusion of connection.

Some people make plans to be online playing at the same time so they can play eachother, i.e. JGlass, Pancake, & whomever else is joins in on their little BF3 party sessions.

I play online with a former forum member every once in a while but I don't dictate when or what I play based off of what he's playing. If we just happen to be playing the same game, sometimes we'll join each other. Actually, I was able to platinum Borderlands due to playing with him.

I'd much rather play a game like Modern Warfare with friends from here or coworkers rather than play it with complete strangers. It eliminates any stupid, annoying fourteen year olds playing rap music and actually allows for discussion of strategy or just shit in life, and it allows you to carry the conversation/trash talk the next time you see them.

If I want to play Call of Duty or whatever, if no one is online or wants to play, I'll still play it.

I was contemplating getting MLB.TV but wasn't 100% of all of the details then I noticed Harthan watching it on his PS3 so I asked him some questions about it.

There are definitely some advantages to having friends online, but I don't need to have someone online for me to get the most enjoyment out of a game.
