Playing With Fire

What was your favorite moment that included fire? It could be from the inferno match to a table on fire to a fireball.

My favorite would be Edge vs. Mick Foley WM22 a spear through a flaming table. What's yours?

My pick would also be Edge vs Mick Foley. That match was intense, brutal, and exciting. I jumped out of my couch when Edge speared Mick Foley off the side of the ring and into the table. Never saw it coming.

Mine is Jeff Hardy's "so graphic couldn't be shown on tv" fireball to the face...the only reason I say this is I feel for Hardy long dumb story short but when I was in my teens and doing the backyard wrestling thing I thought it'd be a cool idea to put gas in my mouth, spit it out and light it well I totally removed any facial hair I might have had and did a little oral damage to my inter mouth parts...I KNOW I WAS A DUMBASSS so seeing that brutal fireball that apparently went wrong I guess I feel for Hardy and was defintley best use of fire

Naturally, a lot of people will go for the match between Edge and Mick Foley but I am going to go for another Foley classic match.

His match against Triple H inside the Hell in a Cell is probably one of my favourite matches ever and it was partly due to how far they took everything. I mean, you could argue that the fire aspect of the match was pretty tame but at the end of the day, Mick Foley took a flaming 2x4 wrapped in barbed wire to the back and I just sat at home thinking that Mick Foley was one crazy bastard. We have all come to know that I was correct and come to know it well.

However, that match was just spectacular and the fire aspect of it certainly added to the overall experience of the match and the event.

Another great moment that had a fire aspect to it, or rather the potential for one, is Stone Cold vs. Kane inside the Steel Cage match. When Kane said that he was going to set himself on fire if he lost the match, I was completely taken aback and although it never actually happened, you always felt that it could have. It was especially true when you see how dominant Austin was at that point and I sincerely thought that he was going over Kane again, of course resulting in the Big Red Machine getting cooked a little bit.

At the end of the day, we can all agree that the WWE playing with fire is pretty damn fun.

When Kane was about to set JR. on fire. I though that was pretty funny. Seriously.
Being a fire medic I really do not care to see fires but I thought the spot from the Foley/Edge WM 22 was cool, I am original I know.

Kane putting the Undertaker in the casket, pouring gasoline on it, and lighting it on fire as the ppv went off the air was visually pretty sweet.

definitely Foley/Edge at Mania 222. one of the craziest and sickest things I have ever seen. but I have another choice, three words: ONE NIGHT STAND. I'm talking about the original one, the main event: the Dudleys vs Tommy Dreamer and the Sandman. one of the sickest, bloodiest,OMFG matches I have EVER SEEN. all the match I remember shouting to my brother "this is fucking horrible" or "this guys are sick!" but when it all came down to the flaming table, I was completely speechless. I didn't know what to think, all I did was aplause cause it was sick, but it was all for the fans. and that my friends for me was moment I'll never forget.

I'll take either of the first two inferno matches between Kane and the Undertaker. Two guys fighting in a ring surrounded by fire was such a spectacle to see for the first time and the crowd was into it every minute.

I'm going to go way back with the tag team fire match between The Sheik & Sabu vs Tarzan Goto & Atsushi Onita Barbed Wire Fire in Match from FMW. It gets way out of control way too fast, its on you tube check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9QoGk91DpU. I have numerous old tapes of these types of matches. If you're talking about U.S. matches then I'm going to have to say when Cactus Jack got branded with a branding iron by Terry Funk in ECW.

Inferno match betwee Kane and Taker and also the casket match where Kane set his bro on fire...then WWE had to kill it when it was re done with orton...

Kane is fire...so when I think fire in wrestling..I immiately think Kane from 97-2002..

Honourable mention goes to Foley burniing the 2 by 4...and the spear..

Completely agree. His comeback in 2002 when the Un-Americans were going to set fire to the flag is my pick; it had been teased for weeks and even teased a couple minutes before he did come out. Plus I think it was JR who said something along the lines of, 'You want to try setting something on fire!? Here comes Kane!' Good times
