People Who Distinguish Between "Wrestling" And "Sports Entertainment" Are Repugnant

Worse than people who think there's a difference between "movies" and "films."

This is stupid. There are plenty of indy stars in the business. WWE ISN'T Pro wrestling, it's sports entertainment and thus doesn't have star wrestlers.

a) Is that an actual post or a hypothetical post?

b) I agree.

c) Most repugnant of all is how many wrestlers make the distinction. Doesn't matter if they really mean it or if they're playing to moronic fans. It's still as far from fashionable as professional wrestling can get. And that's a pretty low low to sink to.

I remember saying something similar when Daniel Bryan said WWE wasn't wrestling.

Ahh, good times, lotta stupidity there.

WWE is wrestling. It's the biggest part of their fucking shows. I wouldn't watch if it were just dudes bitching in a ring or backstage and shit musical acts. I see no difference between WWE and other promotions aside from they (WWE) have a ton of money, bigger names, and better production.

There's a difference between sports entertainment and professional wrestling? Every amateur wrestler in the world responds, 'da fuck?'

But can you at least see the differences between puroresu, lucha libre, indy wrestling and WWE wrestling? Or is it all the same too?

There is indeed a difference between wrestling & sports entertainment. Wrestling is a part is a part of sport entertainment as a product, which in turn is a part of professional wrestling as an industry. There's also puroresu, lucha libre, rasslin', hardcore and a whole heap of other professional wrestling products that exist in the world today.

Repugnant.

Sports-Entertainment is just the name of the style that WWE produces in their in-ring product. Some like it, some don't, but there are differences between pretty much every wrestling company.

But it's still wrestling. And any way of trying to differentiate it from wrestling is stupid. If done by a fan, by Daniel Bryan, or the guy Sam's taking the piss out of

I disagree, being able to understand those differences in style is actually a very good thing because it gives wrestling a whole new form of art. There are also tons of paintings in the world, but they're all different and have different styles, but at the end of the day is still a painting and people want to differentiate it. Saying painting, I can also say dance, sculpture, cinema, etc... It's a more organized way to talk about said art.

I find most of the distinctions people make between different types of wrestling to be utterly meaningless. At the end of the day, the only real difference is WWE encourages guys to work smarter and make their shit count. And in spite of that difference, a lot of WWE stuff would fit right in outside of the company. Whatever other differences you think you see amount to very little. Certainly not enough to merit the discussion they receive.

But of course this is 2013, where people need to discuss things ad-fucking-nauseam to make themselves feel intelligent. I know this sentence will seem wildly ironic given the point I'm making, but I can't fucking stand the pseudo-intellectual small men that internet culture attracts.

That's all well and good, Coco. But they don't do enough flips n' shit in WWE, so it's not real wrestling.

This isn't the music industry where every stupid tweak to a type of music becomes a spun-off genre. I hate people who try to say lucha libre is something different from wrestling. It's not. It's just wrestling in Spanish. I should know.
