Paul Heyman on the Steve Austin Podcast

Heymans story about meeting with Vince and him sneezing was hilarious.

Theres only a few guys that I could listen to for hours, Paul Heyman is one of them. (Nash and DDP are the others).

Although I cant help but to think Paul is a bullshitter at times. Lol

Unleashed is out, halfway in, pretty much the same, no wrestling talk so far just Heyman Hustle, but before going into the interview Austin congratulated James Storm on winning the TNA title. Well done James Storm, well done.

Yeah I heard him congratulate Storm and was completely thrown off, I thought for a moment he won it at a non televised event I wasn't aware of. :p

Heyman's stuff on the show was great, I could listen to him talk about the business for hours. I love the Austin podcast, I listen to both shows every week while driving to and from work. I could listen to the man talk about anything, he can take most topics and run with them well. But Heyman so far is about my favorite guest along with Kevin Nash and I'm really looking forward to his supposably upcoming sit-down with Eric Bischoff.

Basically Paul Heyman's track record is
Losing the national cable tv slot on TNN
Losing viewers and ratings when he booked Smackdown
Cooperating with Vince McMahon to book the biggest piece of crap that was ECW in 2006

He was good at some things but he is way overrated.

Way to completely gloss over the majority of the man's accomplishments.

Who fucking cares if he lost a shit load of money? People enjoyed and continue to enjoy his contributions to the industry. They don't make multiple DVD sets about your promotion if it was a total failure piece of shit, I'm sorry. ECW's influence is so easy to ignore now if you weren't actually watching wrestling at the time, but their influence can't be understated. There simply would be no Attitude Era without Paul Heyman. In many ways, his influence is in large part responsible for the booking and themes of the most profitable era of wrestling ever.

Yeah, what a hack.

Oh and if you actually think Paul Heyman was responsible for the debacle that was the ECW relaunch, you're sorely mistaken. The man barely got to book more than a few months (which were actually quite decent) before having the rug pulled out from under him and let go so guys like Bobby Lashley could get the McMahon Approved Push.

What does this have to do with the podcast?

Thing is Heyman didn't really lose a whole lot of money though, like he says on the podcast, ECW was in the hole $7 mil. when they went under, & $2.8 mil. of that was owed to them by the PPV people.
