Paul Bearer's HoF Ring on eBay.

Last year, Paul Bearer (William Moody) was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, posthumously. His sons accepted the award on his behalf & thus, took home the Hall of Fame ring. Not long after the ceremony, one of the sons passed away, leaving only Daniel Moody.

Daniel struggled to keep his family going, working in fast food restaurants to keep things running. He didn't keep down jobs at Burger King & Whataburger, so is obviously having some troubles. Then yesterday, an eBay listing pops up. "Paul Bearer's HoF Ring" - "Acquired after a family death", or something along those lines. The way it looks is that Moody has sold the ring to a Pawn Show, who are selling it on eBay, for something around $22,000. At this current moment, the ring is not being sold on the site, which could mean after some controversy, the shop has decided to take down the listing.

What do you think? Is it right for Moody to take a great memory of his father & sell it to keep him going?

To drop the typical cliche.... I'm sure his father will be happy he's got food on the table.

It does beg the question though of what happened to any money his father left behind? Surely he must have been quite well off. It would be more of a shame he was selling it if he had been left a load of money behind which he blew on strippers and drugs then had to sell the ring after been so careless

I'd associate that ring with horrible recent memories and monetary value would outweigh sentiment.

Also, the Hall Of Fame means a lit to some and little to others.

Exactly right, if Bearer could see what was happening he'd probably advise that the ring is sold to keep food on the table of his family, who've obviously suffered severely in the last few years.

I agree with your last point though, did Bearer not leave any money behind for the family, was it constantly wasted and spent as fast as he made it? Or did he leave a lump sum which was wasted and that's the reason the HOF ring is being sold. I hope that's not the case, as it would be a terrible shame.

Even though he is not required to do so, I wouldn't be surprised if 'Taker did something for the family, with Bearer being so influential on his career and how close the two were.

I guess you got to do what you got to do. I know if that were me, I would have some real qualms about selling my fathers HOF ring following his death, which the young man probably did, but one has to support their family by any means necessary.

As others have said, I'm sure Paul Bearer would advise his son to do exactly that if it meant financial security for his child and grandchildren.

I believe WWE paid for Bearer to have a gastric band years ago. I'm not sure how much those cost but I think it's a clear indication that he wasn't particularly wealthy. And why would he be, he was a manager mostly during a down period for WWE and he stopped being a regular close to twenty years ago.

Who knows why they put it up for sale and it's their property so they can really do what they want with it. Some things mean more to some than others I guess.

I get that the guy along with is dead and all and that the Moody family is still going through difficult times, but still, I find it so offensive that a Hall of Fame ring that was for a man of THAT CALIBER would end up being sold on eBay. I don't care how much the damn thing is worth, this news still just pisses me off so much.
