Paranormal Occurances

Sheamus' Suntan

A hound of justice
Okay, so I wanted to basically see what people think of Paranormal activity/Occurances. I don't mean the films, I mean legitimate claims to paranormal activity.

I personally am a spiritualist. I believe that we come back to be with those we love as a spirit. We either come back and stay rooted to one spot if our lives were unfulfilled and if there is something we have not finished in life that we have set out to, or we are unchained to a spot and are free to be with whomever we want to if we feel fulfilled.

The reason why this is significant is because I do think that a lot of what "happens" depends on your own belief. If you believe things happen, then they often will.

However, I do have several...things that have happened in my life that make me feel like I have indeed had people visiting.

So...here we go.

- My aunt died around about 7 years ago from substance abuse. This time was very difficult for us as a family and I was young, understanding the concept of death but not how to grieve as this was my first encounter with death up close and personally. In my mums house, was a fireplace, with a mantle shelf (a small shelf for odds and ends) above it. We stored books that we had finished reading as sort of a means of sharing books with one another as me and my mum are big readers. A book that was 3rd in the line from the end, on the right hand side, began to wobble on that night and we watched in amazement as it not just wobbled but threw itself from the shelf onto the floor. The bizarre thing - this book had not been touched in over 9 months and wasn't at the end of the shelf.

- My great grandma died a few weeks after this. I had just done washing up, and had rested some blue glass plates on the sink board, at the back, making sure they would not fall off. In front of these plates was a heavy iron pot. I went into the living room and heard a "chink" noise. I went back into the kitchen to see one of the blue plates on the floor. The floor was a heavy tiled floor, so anything glass hitting it would have smashed. This plate was rested perfectly on its base, the opposite side of the kitchen, with no damage whatsoever.

- My nan died some six months after. Apparations are said to arrive in many forms, and white feathers is hers. We've had white feathers appear in the oddest of places, where they shouldnt, and they don't just land in front of you. They twirl around you, almost dancing around you, they rise and fall...and all of these feathers are found INDOORS, where windows and doors have been shut and there are no feather products around.

- Any time I speak out to my nan, I feel a coldness around my neck and shoulders. My nan used to hug me from behind like this often.

- I have a friend who confessed multiple times that she loved me. She would tell me it often and a large part of me would feel the same, however we had very different lives, and two months ago I was devastated when I found out she had committed suicide. I realised a lot about myself and started to phase in and out of consciousness a lot whilst laying down. Some would say I was just falling asleep, but I was not, my eyes would roll in the back of my head, my breathing would slow right the way down and I would almost auto asphyxiate I was breathing that slowly. During this time I would picture a large ball of swirling light, an energy, and then faces. I would hear voices also and see things. The last thing I saw was last night, during one of these moments, where I saw Jeisa's face (my friend) and she told me she loved me. This to me is more an instance of medium-ship than it is an actual occurance. But yet every time I think of her, I get a similar feeling to the one above - one of pure happiness and bliss, yet a cold feeling around my shoulders and chest.

I am a heavy believer in spiritualism, I actually would love to follow this up and become something more - like a medium or something.

How does everyone else feel surrounding paranormal occurances? Is it just your mind playing tricks? (I've felt and wondered this myself), or is it something more, and does it all really happen?

Have you had any things happen to you that you just can't explain, something that could only be explained as otherworldly?

When I use to live with my ma dukes in Rhode Island in a city called Pawtucket we lived in a small but nice house. I remember at times yelling to my ma saying what do you want, or yeah ma or just not reply at all. I use to hear my name called clear as day. It was always a loud female voice to every time I heard it. It would just belt out NICK, and I would say what ma what do you want? She would answer with; I didn't call you and quit yelling in the house. I would be confused and say you sure you didn't call me? She would say yes I am sure.

We moved into another house in Attleboro Massachusetts where I heard the same voice calling me again. I would fly down stairs (I am upstairs hearing this that’s how loud the voice is) and run to my ma and say you called me? She would just say nope I didn't call you. This has happened multiple times to me with the same voice in two different places.

I know this may sound crazy to hear but, I dated this girl who lived about an hour away from me and at this time I didn't speak to her for about 5 months. We were broken up and I randomly called her to say hello. She called me at work during her break and she told me her sister had died a week or two back. I was like damn this isn't good news and I am sorry to hear this. We got off the phone and I jumped in the shower and I swear on my soul her sister came to me and I envisioned everything she went through the night she passed away. I called my ex back and told her what I seen and she burst into tears and said what the fuck would make you say this? I said Katie wanted me to tell you this. She said everything you said is true and you told me stuff I never said to you. She hanged up on me and we talked a few days later. It was crazy scary but the honest to god truth.

I don't doubt that spirits can come to earth and walk the earth whether it is good or bad. Nobody truly knows what happens when we pass on so I truly believe in spirits and ghost and even demons and angles. I have seen and talked too many and have a spirit that follows me. It is crazy to hear but I swear on my life I 100% believe in spirits.

I've had an paranormal encounter before. My wife and I were staying by ourselves at my parents' guest house one night last year. There is a larger bedroom with a large bed and a smaller room with a bunk bed. She was taking a nap in the bunk bed while I was busy with something else, I don't remember what it was, probably unloading our stuff from the car into the living room or something. She had locked the door so she would not be disturbed. I let her rest while longer while I watch a couple of South Park episodes on tv. I turn it off and noticed she was still asleep with the door still locked. I slid a book she had been reading under the door for her if she woke up and decided to continue reading it.

I started watching tv again and several minutes later I hear her screaming at the top of her lungs. I ran back over to that side of the house. The book had been slid back under the door to the hallway, and the door was unlocked. I ran in and woke her up, she was screaming in her sleep and woke up in tears. I asked her if everything was ok, she had been having terrible nightmares. Then she asked me how I got in when the door was locked. I told her it was unlocked but that I knew she had locked it from when I tried to come in with the book so I just slid it under the door. She had no knowledge of the book ever being in the room or of anyone or anything unlocking the door. So.... What unlocked the door, and how did the book end up back in the hallway? Something strange happened that night and we still don't know what it was. I think it was something paranormal because she doesn't sleep-walk and SOMETHING had to have unlocked the door as well as slide the book back out into the hall.

There's no such thing as the "paranormal". Why? Because there has never been scientific evidence for it. By it's very definition, if something is "paranormal" it is "not in accordance with scientific laws". Scientific explanations have been given for every "paranormal" occurrence you could think of. Feeling a cold chill could be down to a trick of the mind, or even a low frequency vibration. Ghost sightings are almost always down to tricks of light. Electro-magnetic fields are often used as evidence of paranormal goings on, but in the society we live in, electro-magnetic fields are ubiquitous.

I've often been called close-minded in my aversion to the paranormal and spiritual world. But that's nonsense. If someone could provide me with hard scientific evidence that spirits exist, I would agree that spirits do indeed exist. But in the entire history of the world, nobody has been able to do that.

My feeling with it is; not everything has a scientific value. For instance; Love. 99% of people would believe Love exists, but no science can prove EXACTLY what it is. They would say it's motor neurons and synapses working to produce endorphines around someone you feel strongly for; but why do you feel strongly for them? Because of the synapses and neurones? That's a circular argument and fails and science fills itself with a LOT of those.

I accept chills can be your mind. However it's less so when you do not expect it. When something happens and you get a chill around a set part of your body for no reason whatsoever. Especially if the rest of you is warm.

It is an odd thing but I do believe in spiritualism, and I do believe there are such things as the paranormal.

Strange little things like that is quite common in the house that my Family and I live in since the past 3 years.

Sounds of Plates clanking against each other from the kitchen, Things suddenly dropping in weird angles when they've just been hung and there's not even the slightest wind,

Hearing someone come down the stairs but then no one comes and stuff like that.

At first my family didn't tell me anything about these kind of things. -.-

But eventually they did and I love hearing about them whenever something like that has happened. xD

Like a few days back my Mum got locked out from the house when she was watering the plants in the Backyard.

It's a Heavy, sort of stiff Sliding door in the kitchen from which you can go outside.

So suddenly my Mum had heard the door close and she had used the gate at the back to go the the front of the house to find the Main Door locked like she had.

Thing is my Sister was the only one in and she was sleeping, so Mum had to keep ringing the door bell for like 15 minutes until my Sister woke up and let her in. :L

Then another day, My Dad was the only one home (We others were in SL during the Summer) and our Dog started barking madly in the direction of the Master Bedroom.

The Queer part is that our dog was Looking at something,

it was actually moved it's head across the room slowly while barking and looked down the staircase.
