Panera Bread

is an awesome place to work. I am having a hard time adjusting to the drastic change in scheduling from Wendy's. At Wendy's I worked 5pm-3am. Here i'm working 5am-noon, 6am-2:30. Food prep is seemingly easy, I just gotta get the hang of it. Slicing all the meat, vegetables, portioning the chicken, making the chicken salad, etc. Plus I get a 65% discount. They are REALLY passionate about bread there.. "A Loaf of Bread Under Every Arm" is the mission statement.. and Mother Bread is the logo, if you haven't noticed, it's a lady holding a loaf of bread like a baby. It's a relaxing place.. The Panera I work at is the only one in Richmond with a drive-thru.

Interesting. My cousin once worked there and said he hated it. But he worked at a Panera Bread in CT so perhaps it varies by location?

Anyway, if anything good came out of him working there it was that he got free bread. I remember I was visiting him once and he brought home three large bags full of Panera bread. Really good stuff IMO.

They don't keep any bread or pastries or none of that overnight. Everything is baked fresh every morning. Whatever they have left they donate to local churches and food banks. The food is pretty pricey, but well worth it imo. Everything's made fresh when you order, how you order it. The salads and sandwiches, soups, etc. Everything's good. My lunch consists usually of a Mediterranean Veggie sandwich, and a bowl of Broccoli Cheddar soup.

I label that as one of those places that anyone that goes there and hangs out daily is a douchebag. Right behind starbucks on that list.

That's usually what keeps prices up. It's a necessary evil really. When my place first opened and we had decided to carry only Boar's Head Deli meats and cheeses, it was a hard choice because they're known as the most premium deli stuff in the country but they're really expensive. Luckily everything worked out and the Boar's Head name become a huge selling point and people didn't mind paying $8.99 for a sandwich. It also came with a side.

Most of the people that come in are like, on-the-go type people, or the elderly. Panera offers free Wi-Fi, and people come in and get like a bagel, and coffee and finish up some work, or whatever. It's a real laid back place.

Yeah. The sandwich comes with like, a baguette, an apple, or a bag of chips. They have various sandwiches, panini's and such. They range from like $5.69 and up.

My friend use to work there not long ago. She quit because she hated it for some reason. Sucks because I can't get free food from her anymore
