Tim Allen. Best known for his roles as Tim "The Toolman" Tayor in Home Improvement, Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story 1 and 2, as well as Santa Clause in The Santa Clause movies.

I know Tim Allen seems like a weird choice for the first Overrated/Underrated in the movies section. But I was watching Joe Somebody the other night and really enjoyed it for some reason. People Call him a bad actor and while he may not be the best, he always seems to make me connect with his character. He's funny for sure. He can play a serious role pretty well too. I don't think he's overrated. He might be a little bit underrated, at least in my opinion. Maybe he is rated just right.

What do you guys think?

I didn't realize until recently but I think I'm a fan of his. Santa Clause is my all time favorite Christmas movie and he is the total star of it. In Toy Story he is great. How many lines do you know from that movie by heart? The other night I was watching Home Improvement because nothing else was on and I've gotten hooked on it, mainly because of him cracking me up. He just has that odd bit of comedy about him that makes him just right. He's not over the top like Jim Carrey or boring and repetitive like Will Ferrel. He does a bit of everything and makes it all work. He's not always funny, but he's very good at what he does. I say correctly rated just shy of underrated.

Tim Allen never gets any credit, that is for sure. A Tim Allen movie gets less news coverage than a Paris Hilton racial slur. The reason why? Because he has never had that defining moment. Sure, Toy Story will be remembered by anyone who was a kid at the time. The Santa Clause will be a good Christmas movie for years to come. But he has never had a worthy moment as an actor. His comedy style is low brow, he cant make me cry, but he still can make movies. I say he is rated accordingly.
