One More Run

Even though he is no longer around I would love for modern medicine to find a way to fix Edge and bring him back. He may not have been the best in the ring per say but a lot of his work was amazing. His promos made him look crazy when he wanted to. He basically set out to do what the back wanted him to do. Boo him when he was supposed to be a heel, cheer and boo when he was a tweener and cheer when he was a face. Can't ask for more!

Now as far as current guys I'd really like to see the Big Show get one last, long reign in. Let Big Show win the title, and defend it successfully week after week, month after month bringing major meaning back to the title. I wouldn't be upset if he held it for a year to be honest. That would be fantastic. Make him look as dominant as he should look, and then eventually have him lose to a guy they are building up to make that guy REALLY seem all that much more special. Would be awesome to me.

Outside of that there is 1 guy I would like to see put in the World Championship category. He has NEVER had a WHC reign but has held other titles. I think William Regal should be given the belt as a solid heel. He should come out and say he is sick and tired of this pre-madonna tarts who couldn't even lace up his boots. Then he goes back to his old heel methods. Regal could wrestle circles around most of the common day WWE stars. He could essentially be the heel Undertaker when Taker was looking for "respect". Then have Regal retire in his homeland as World Heavyweight Champion. Let him KEEP the title in his homeland, and then be beaten by say Wade or somebody and he could "pass the torch" after the match.

I wouldn't necessarily mind another Kane run, but ultimately, what would it accomplish? You have people like Orton and Christian on SmackDown, who have been consistently delivering week after week (not to mention Sheamus who's been fantastic), and you're going to give the belt to a guy who's not that good in the ring and isn't far off from retirement? Furthermore, who would he even feud with? His last reign worked because it revolved around him and The Undertaker. Kane's character isn't really the type to be champion for a long time.
The thread title says 'one more run' right? Kane is not far from retirement, that's correct, and what a better way to send off his career than to have one more run at the world heavyweight championship? You can't question Kane's workrate to the likes of Orton, Christian and Sheamus. This guy has been loyal in the WWE for about what? 14 years? I believe he deserved to end his career with a gold, rather than retire him with a lame storyline.

I get that this was pretty open ended and not just about Kane, Big Show, Batista & Jericho, but of those four I would most like to see Batista.

I missed out on most all of Batista's time in the WWE. When I stopped watching he was D-Von's "Deacon." I guess evolution was already formed because I also remember him in a short feud with Bill Goldberg, but to me, I think of him as The Deacon. lol which is pretty pathetic really. He seemed like he had a personality that would resonate well with me, at least from what I've seen in clips here and there, I think I would have liked him. That's more than I can say for a lot of these guys that made big names for themselves. Eddie, Benoit, Edge, none of them ever interested me much, even though they probably would have if I had paid attention to their rise to the top.

I think the only OTHER guy that I'd want to see have one more run, that can actually go would be The Rock. He's still in his 30's, and he's bigger and meaner looking than ever. Hell check THIS out, he's bigger than Brock Lesnar.

Out of the wrestlers mentioned in the opening post.... Kane got his much deserved second world title run last year. That will probably be his last. Batista I really do not want to see return. Big Show deserves one although I do not think it will happen anytime soon. Jericho having one last world title run if he returns would be the best option because he could really put over some future stars well in this final title run if it happened. Plus he is always entertaining no matter what he does.

Let me ask you this. If they give Kane another run, after he loses it, are people going to start asking for yet ANOTHER run?

I think it would have been a fitting end to his career had he retired last year after the Undertaker storyline, but he didn't, and so there's no reason to suggest that he will this time if he gets the title back. It's pretty ridiculous that he got a six month title reign last year, which is more than ANYONE would have ever thought they would give him, and yet (surprise surprise) the internet still isn't satisfied. He got his one last run already, it's over. Now let's focus on people who are either A) more talented, B) are going to be around much longer or C) both.

I'd have to go with Triple H. Why? Because I like him and that should be justification enough to simply state who I would want to have another run.

I read Mark Maddens columns all the time and look forward to them every week or so that he puts them up. He poignantly points out time and time again that Triple H is the only guy on Raw who is really over, and I think the reactions we've seen over the last few weeks or months speak to that being true. No matter what happens, how often he is featured, or what he does he is over and the fans consistently pop big time for him. It is for this reason that I actually think another run for him would be a good idea to put someone else over or at least try. Madden always points out that a big problem in WWE and a major concern for their future is that no one is truly over. Not Cena, not Punk, certainly not Del Rio, Orton, none of them.

Keep in mind, just because they move merchandise or get pops doesn't mean they are truly "Over". Those things are practically controlled by the WWE as it is. They know that for the most part, you'll pop for who they want you to pop for, you'll buy whose shirts they want you to buy, etc... Let's see if you take any of them off of TV for months at a time like Triple H and bring them back nonchalantly like they have with him if the people care nearly as much. Odds are they don't. So, if for no other reason, I would say you give him one more run with a big feud and have him attempt to really really make someone.

im guessing yo mean one more run before that person retires? if thats the case then i would love a William Regal run i know it might not be for the WWE or even WHC title but he has been able to get people to hate him [plus i would love to see the brass knuckles again]

Well I say as long as the run was a successful one but didn't feel definative then why the hell not. Sure Kane ultimately beat Undertaker, which in it's self was huge but the ending of his reign didn't make it definative... and it was one of the most entertaining title runs of last year.... so why not?

I'd understand your argument if it didn't work, but for Kane it did and it was one of the bes thing to happen to Smackdown last year.

I'd go with "The Game" Triple H. Yeah, people say he holds talent down, but he could show everyone in the back how to be a champion and carry the top title in the business. I'd almost go 6 or so months. Really show taht it's a title that really has to be fought for. I'd be completely fine with him doing that!

I always wanted to see Shawn Michaels have a lengthy title run after he returned in 2002 or whenever that was. He did get the title at one of the Elimination Chambers, but lost it a month later. I always believed he could be the number one guy even after his return, and I would have booked him as a heel. Shawn was a great face, but I enjoyed his heel turn with Hogan much more than anything he did as a face. I always thought that as a face, he was top 5 wrestlers, but as a heel, he was always number 1.

I'd honestly like to see William Regal get one run with the strap before he retires, I mean he is a highly underrated talent that has consistently been shown to be very entertaining and skilled in the ring. I think if given maybe a couple month run with the world title he'd be able to help put over a young talent to the next level for them to be a main eventer while also adding a final greatest accolade to his own career.

I would have liked to see HHH as champion if he was still COO. They could have made HHH into this power hungry boss who everyone hates. I was actually expecting that with the whole COO thing...good COO gone corrupt kind of thing

The Undertaker - as the American Badass

Mark Henry has been built as this unstoppable monster who has taken out Big Show, Kane, Vladimir Koslov and the Great Khali. He has beaten Randy Orton clean TWICE.

When there is an unstoppable force on Smackdown! running over everyone who stands in his way, I can think of only one individual who could possibly stop him and it's the Phenom.
