Ohio Residents May Be Very Stupid (More Political Stuff)

In a new poll, Ohio voters were asked for some reason who deserved more credit for killing Osama Bin Laden: Obama or Romney.

The Republican responses:

Obama - 38%
Not Sure - 47%
Romney - 15%

The scariest part is that this isn't just a Republican thing. The overall results for the state:

Obama - 63%
Not Sure - 31%
Romney - 6%

How is this even possible? Who thought this was a good question? Romney was a regular citizen at this point and wasn't even a declared candidate. Why would you ask this and who in the world would think Romney had anything to do with it? I get this is likely an error of some kind, but why was the question on the poll in the first place?

Did you read the article? It explains it. :)

I'd be interested in the nation wide statistics if there are any. It might not just be Ohioans who are particularly stupid.

It's thing like this that lead me to grave despair though. What was it Carlin said? Think of how stupid the average person is. Then think that half of them are even more stupid than that.

I do appreciate the article pointing out the same errors on both sides. Nothing I despise more than a Green Day Democrat.

It's PPP; they're well known for throwing random or comical questions onto their surveys either to attract media attention or just for their own amusement. These are the same people who polled Americans as to whether they thought that, in the event of the rapture, Obama would go to heaven.

Personally I approve.

It's pretty easy to explain. The people who gave credit to Romney are the people who wrongly refuse to give Obama credit for anything. They're the Fox News Uber-Conservatives, who think Obama is a Socialist Kenyan Monkey or something like that. They're stupid.

What I love is that why are we giving credit to the President for a Military Operation that he (most likely) had nothing to do with, besides MAYBE giving the final OK to do it? Why don't they give credit to the Navy Seals who carried out the mission. I mean they deserve all the credit, they did it.

I think its more of a sarcastic poll saying Romney didn't kill Bin Laden, Obama did; so vote Obama. I'm not, didn't look at the article.

For the same reason Republicans gave George W. Bush the credit for getting Saddam Hussein, and still would if George Bush wasn't so toxic. We give him credit for the same reason people blame/credit the President for the economy, for military success, for balanced budgets, etc.

And as far as the things go which we credit the President for, as Commander-In-Chief, giving credit for authorizing a mission to kill the world's #1 enemy is probably the most credible thing we can give Obama credit for.

It's the nature of politics. The president/governor/mayor gets credit/blame for almost everything that happens even when they have very little power over it.

A former secretary of state whose name escapes me said something like "crediting the number of jobs created or lost under a president is like crediting a rooster with making the sun come up." Yet Bush and Obama will be blamed or credited with whatever gains or losses happen, with only a slightly valid reasoning for them receiving the reaction.
