[Official] X Marks the Spot: Xfearbefore Xclusive Thread

I don't think it will particularly end his WWE career honestly. It sounds bad from what we know so far, but I don't think Triple H and the WWE are just going to give up on a guy they've invested a lot of time and money into because of one policy violation. Now, if he racks up several more that's totally different, but since this is his first offense I'm sure this actually won't wind up hurting his career too much in the long run.

Who likes the new uber-ironic sig?

Colt Cabana has the WWE Championship...I never thought I'd ever say that.

Ha, I saw all those pictures this morning. That's so awesome, all of the original Second City Saints out partying after hitting a home run way, way the fuck out of the park. Good on them.

For a second I almost thought they were all drinking, then I remembered straight edge of course, duh, lol.

Is that a direct quote from someone, X?

Nah just sort of an amalgamation of all the many people on this board and others who would tell me and others that guys like CM Punk and especially Bryan Danielson would never make it far in the WWE. After last night's show, it just seemed a fitting time to gloat about how utterly wrong those people were, and how happy I am that they were. It's just a random screenshot I took from an ROH show in 2006 when Punk had already joined OVW and the WWE and Danielson was just getting started on his first epic title reign.

He said that Laryngitis attempted a screwing that hasn't been seen since Survivor Series 97. Nothing bad about about Johnny Ace's character, just used a naughty term.

What do you think was the most awesome MitB spot in your opinion X? For me it's a tossup between the 4 suicide dives and Gabriel's zero margin for error 450 splash from the first match. I seriously did NOT realise until watching it again how damn close Kane was to the ladder.

Love the sig, X-Sphere. I never got why people thought Jericho, Eddie, and Benoit were the shit in spite of their humble beginnings while anyone who works in an indy company today is automatically seen as the drizzling shits by WWE loyalists. Yes, I'm definitely saying Punk, Bryan, and Cabana can be as valuable to the WWE as the three aforementioned "names."

WON is reportedly saying HHHero and Castagnoli have signed. How big is HHHero going to be in the WWEmpire?

And finally: See last night's Breaking Bad? I DVR'd it and watched it this morning. It's delicious.

As a WWE loyalist I'd say it's probably down to a mixture of two things. The first is that people who pimp out Benoit, Eddy and Jericho saw their work in the big companies and liked it before they found out about the humble origins and had a chance to shit on them for it. If Danielson, Punk and their indy friends stick around in WWE and have good matches the same will happen a few years down the line. The second is that the people who shat on Jericho, Benoit and Jericho for their origins then have either left the IWC/Ye Olde equivalant or changed their views.

Or alternatively, the notable companies back then were waaaay bigger than ROH and thus never got the negative stigma that the indies have.

I'd disagree with your assessment, but would love to be proven wrong. Except about Cabana. I do not * Colt.

Those 4 consecutive dives was probably my favorite. I was just like "HOLY SHIT", that was one of the craziest 20 seconds of a match I've ever seen, everyone just totally killing themselves with crazy dives. Fuck even Slater had an awesome dive.

I was watching an ROH show from 2006 earlier today when Cabana was feuding with Homicide and was being serious instead of comedic, and I totally forgot just how awesome of a promo guy Cabana can be when he wants to be serious. He came off like a total badass, and I really hope the WWE picks him up.

It's official?

omgyay. Hero and Claudio are both going to be huge. Cannot wait! Might as well just start a fuckin' ROH stable in the company at this point though.

And finally: See last night's Breaking Bad? I DVR'd it and watched it this morning. It's delicious.

I haven't actually, I have it on my DVR as well and will watch it after RAW tonight. Can't wait, I've remained spoiler-free so far.

It's official?
I'm not seeing it being reported anywhere but people are saying it's coming from WON. Which is exactly how I heard about Tyler Black signing. I'm cautiously optimistic but prepared to be let down should the intel be bad or should pre-screening cost them the job or something.

Y'know, I still haven't re-watched it. So I'm going to stop what I'm doing right now, and re-watch it right this moment. I'll be back in...30+ minutes I guess.

How far from a ***** match was the SD MitB match?

Not very far. If I were to compare it to earlier ladder matches I had given five stars to, this would have been an easy five star match. But the older ladder matches had a bigger impact/importance and whatnot, so they inevitably wind up getting rated higher. But that opening MITB match was really just a hair away from five stars, it was just as close as the main event was I think, but just below it. Everything about the match was incredible, the action, the spots, the crowd, and the emotion of Bryan winning...man, yeah, very very close to five star territory but I'm sticking to ****3/4 on that one, whereas I'm re-watching Cena/Punk right now and I could very well bump it to five stars. As unbelievably odd as it might sound, the epic battle these two had reminded me of some of Kenta Kobashi's great title defenses during his epic GHC title run from 2003-2005 where both guys were just dishing out and taking every last thing they had to offer.

I loved that suplex from the ring apron all the way to the floor spot in the Punk/Cena match just as much the second time seeing it as I did the first time.

I kind of want to slap the shit out of certain people saying Punk carried Cena or Cena didn't hold his own in this match. He was working just as hard as Punk and once again started pulling out stuff I'd never seen from him before. Cena doesn't get enough credit as a straight up mat-wrestler.
