I have both of Robert Cowley's "What Ifs" compilations. Some interesting stuff, particularly the Assyrian siege of Jerusalem as well as the more obvious premature and later deaths of Alexander the Great and the possible Roman conquest of Germany. Thought the second installment was not as good as the first as it seems to get a little too American-centric and focus too much on events of the Second World War that to my mind would not have changed very much

The Roman conquest of Germany was badass too. Also the Africanners defending New Zeland and Austrailia in that one fucking trench / trail thingy in Tazmania I think it was.

those books fucking rocked. Obviously I, of all people, didnt mind the American-ized second edition. the book I bought was actually both books mashed together into one fucking HUUGGEE book..

I think you are talking about the 39th Australian Battallion defending the Kokoda Trail in New Guinea. That was another incredible feat of courage for what amounted to an undertrained, under-supplied and under-manned citizen militia. There is a little known film about their defense of the Kokoda Trail called Kokoda - 39th Battalion

THe one were Jerusalem seemed totally fucked, and out of nowere the entire Assyrian army just fucking died, as if Gd himself saved Jerusalem? Yeah, the very same. No one is quite sure what happened outside the walls of Jerusalem. Suggestions of plague or cholera have been made, like in Cowley's What If. There is another suggestion that the Jews enlisted the aid of the Egyptians to save their city, while Assyrian sources claim that Jerusalem actually capitulated and that they were in fact victorious rather than forced to retreat. Archaeology of the area does not suggest that there was any mass death at the time.

BTW, that Kingdom Of Heaven directors cut was epic as all fucking get out, definately go with this one. Its 3 and a half hours long, but I know you dont mind that. I think you will love this, if only for all the things that get said in it that I just know will remind you of me, and give you a big goofy grin haha

Honestly, I have gleaned a ton of motivation and inspiration from many, many lines spoken in that movie. Im sure you will pick up on them

Yea, deffo go for the directors cut though, but being the movie buff you are, im sure you wouldnt have it any other way
