[Official] X Marks the Spot: Xfearbefore Xclusive Thread

It was awesome. Not the perfection I expected(I unfairly expected it to be my top 5), but awesome.

Even if it doesn't do that well in the box office, it has big cult movie potential too.

I still need to see Zombieland and I need to see Law Abiding Citizen.

X, as a fellow Halloween mark, can you explain to me why they released Halloween 2 in August and not October when it would have been more logical to? I hope it's not because they were scared off by Saw 6, because let's face it... a lot of people are sick of that franchise.

Not as many people as you'd think Guy, the Saw films make INSANE money every single October. Right now, adjusting inflation, the Saw franchise is the 6th highest grossing horror franchise of all time, but with the new Saw film being released soon, Saw will move into the 5th spot, taking over the Scream franchise (ironically enough, they've already begun production on Scream 4). Honestly, if Saw VI can make $139 million, which would be crazy, but really isn't too far-fetched of an idea, they'll overpass the Halloween franchise all time.

So yeah, they definitely released the last two Halloween films in August because of fear of competing with Saw. Saw pretty much owns the month of October in the film industry.

I for one hope the next film bombs, but you know it won't, you know it's going to make huge dollars.

...and I realize that it destroys my street cred as a horror fan by admitting that I kinda dig the Saw movies, but I stand by it.

Nah its okay. The first two are very good, the third one if okay, the fourth one is decent but the ending is atrocious, and the fifth one is probably as good as the third one, albeit with some of the absolute worst acting and writing I've ever seen in my entire life. But for what they are, which is just the new modern slashers (really can't compare the Saw films to torture porn like Hostel).

These next few look and sound atrocious though.
They kind of fucked themselves by getting rid of both Jigsaw and Amanda.

Yeah I'm on a very odd cocktail of fun tonight. Love the boozegrasszolpidemhydocodonexany-barfun.

Meh, the Saw films are to horror what Fruit Loops are to breakfast... empty calories with no substance or nutritional value whatsoever, but still good every now and then as a guilty indulgence.

See what I did there? I like my analogy.

Walls Of Jericho ft. Corey Taylor

What do you think, X? I'm a big fan of WOJ...This song has been stuck in my head...

Yeah but I've heard that song so many damn times I'd be good without hearing it for a few more years. Some songs I just can't listen to anymore, listened to them way too many times. For example, I never, ever want to hear Wonderwall again. Like, ever. It's not a bad song at all, it's a great song. I just never, ever want to hear it again.

Ugh, why is it so hard to do silly things like buy pills online? Stop cock-blocking me interwebz.

Where have you heard it before?! Are you a WOJ fan?!

If you are, and I've missed this...I'm sorry...

Layla, you posted a vid NSL? Didn't see it, I was talking about Layla.

I'm fairly certain that whoever makes Kit Kat bars has changed them fundamentally over the last week. Because they taste different. But so good. Soooo good.

Yeah. Chill-city.

I noticed this also. Maybe it's just a "bad" batch...

EDIT: These also could be the crack-added kind, just in time to get kids hooked for All Hallow's Eve...

The part I posted is just the piano outro, which is the best part as far as I'm concerned. The music itself is great, of course, but it's also tied in with the best scene of one of the best movies ever made, so it gets a huge boost from that.

I love Goodfellas, but over time I've come to prefer Mean Streets. Probably my favorite Scorsese film.

To be honest I think The Departed was better than Goodfellas.

I read this, and thought "Blasphemy!". Then took a second to think it over, and can honestly say they're in the same ballpark. But I won't say they're equals, or that one is better than the other. The Departed would be so much better if every single role DiCaprio has had since then wasn't the same guy in different costumes. He either can't act, or is milking that cashcow til it's tits fall off.

Xfear, I just saw The Proposal with my friends. The girls forced us to watch it, and I was more than displeased with the choice.

...Then we watched it, and everyone in it seemed to have great chemistry. It was like they were matched perfectly. And it was all fucking hilarious. I don't think I have laughed that much at a romantic comedy in a long, long time. Must be Ryan Reynolds. I'm such a mark for his films.

...What?!

Leonardo DiCaprio is hands down the best A-List actor in Hollywood right now. Hands down. His roles in films like The Aviator, The Basketball Diaries, The Departed, or Revolutionary Road prove this.

You sir, are talking horseradish nonsense. The only films that Leo has made since The Departed are Body of Lies and Revolutionary Road, which featured Leo in two different roles that have absolutely nothing in common whatsoever, I don't know what world you're living in man.

Just...just...

:disappointed:

I'm not saying he isn't a great actor. I agree that he's among the best. His role in Body Of Lies just reminded me way too much of his role from the Departed. He was still great in both, and both movies were good, but I think the similarities took a little away for me.

Well, that does it. I'm completely redoing my writing. Fuck me. This is why people take forever to write a book. I'm not changing the main points, or the characters. It's just that I had a whole chapter or so written, and now I realize that's not how I want to go about things. Fuuuuck, fuckity fuck. and it's almost 3am. That's just not good, no matter where you're coming from.

You're further along then I am. I'm on Chapter Two...have been for about two, three months now. My motivation has kind of disappeared lately.

Question:

Should I..?

A) Hop in car, drive to girlfriends place

or

B) Faceplant into my bed and go to sleep.
