[Official] X Marks the Spot: Xfearbefore Xclusive Thread

Haven't gotten around to finishing The Sopranos yet. I got to around Season 5 I believe, haven't watched the last few yet.

Last minute studying for my Physics II test, at the moment. Trying to review 200 years worth of particle based electrical physics sucks, by the way.

I hope you know I'm not saying EY > Nash. I just don't think Nash is a legend. And, I've shared my views on the prop title elsewhere...

Every title is a prop title NSL. What do you think they are? Props.

Eric Young is awful. Simply awful.

You'd consider someone like Raven or Tommy Dreamer a legend I bet though, wouldn't you NSL? If those two are legends, than Kevin Nash is Hulk fucking Hogan. And you know how much I love those two and ECW.

The other titles have meaning behind them, or try to. The Legends title is there to make old guys happy, and hold over young guys til they get the real gold.

Our bromance is over :( Nah, it's cool.

Raven and Dreamer are legends in ECW, and ECW alone. I'm not crazy enough to think otherwise.

So if Raven and Dreamer aren't legends, guess that mean's guys like Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard aren't legends either? I mean, shit, they made a name for themselves in indy feds as well.

Seriously, who IS a legend by some of your guys definitions? Lou Albano just passed away and I see everyone calling him a legend. He cut funny promos, that's it. Seriously, what does it take to be a legend to some of you guys?

Jesus H. Christ, I was reading Dex's Idea of entitlement-free America or however he called it in the class system thread, and I got no words for it. I mean, yeah people need to make the choice of breaking their cycle of life and rising above their status, but it's not like every case is a success, and they'll be demonized because of it. Of course we look up to SOME of the rich because they started out with nothing and made something of themselves. But it's not to say that everyone is born with that fortune Anyway, isn't it obvious that a government should be able to place the needs of its people first and foremost, which includes the right to live, which leads to food, shelter and clothing.

I'm gonna post there in a bit.

They're legends, no matter where they made their names. Everyone, everywhere, knows them as greats because of the Horsemen. Dreamer and Raven are only considered Legends by fans of ECW.

Albano was a legend as a manager. I don't think Nash fits the bill. He was great, but I think the word "legend" is a little big for him.

Ya know, if that's gonna get drug here then fine, lets let it get drug here. Everyone else is tossing these fucking ******ed exaggerations to illustrate their points at me like they hold any weight in the argument so let me toss a fucking ******ed exaggeration to illustrate my point back at you. If you see some guy dying, and you have the power to help him, are you going to stop and help him yourself or are you going to pay the government to eventually maybe get around to helping him for you?

I'm starting to get a little tired of people acting like I don't care about people starving. Of course I care, and you're assholes for suggesting otherwise. I never fucking said I didn't. All I said is that YOU, dear reader, are better equipped to help them than a namless, faceless governing body that's OBVIOUSLY mishandling your money. I'm suggesting that instead of getting all self-righteous about it (granted, some of you are GREAT at being self-righteous but it doesn't accomplish anything) and hoping someone else fixes it, get off your asses, stop being helpless little bitches, and DO something about it. If you care, show it. Until then, you're all talk and full of shit.

Now. Can we please leave this to the thread, and can we please try to respect someone else's point of view without feeling the need to drag it into the bar room and talk shit about someone because you don't understand what they're trying to say? It's beginning to piss me off just a bit. Thanks.

You accuse us of being self-righteous, yet you seem to be pretty damn good at it in this rant.

At any rate, that's exactly what you argued in your first post of the thread. Anyone who gets help from the government is too lazy, and the government programs that exist to help those people shouldn't be around. Just because you want to edit your response to make it seem like you're not a heartless asshole, that doesn't mean you can go around yelling at people. You were the first one to start yelling in that thread, don't be pissed when people yell back.

Sorry Dex, but your idea of turning all "entitlement" programs over to local community outreach centers and churches is simply asinine. I love you, but that idea would fail so hard that it isn't even worth delving into.

Sorry if I came off disrespectful in that thread, I had alot of coffee today, I had to go on a political rant.

...first, when did I edit anything? I've owned up to everything I've said, even the shit I said to you that I shouldn't have. I publicly apologized to you for that, you didn't deserve that and it was wrong. I haven't edited anything out, not even that.

Second, I have NEVER ONCE SUGGESTED that EVERYONE who gets help is lazy. It's irresponsible and immature of you to suggest I have, as it's patently false. Now, please, keep it in the thread and cut this shit out. Pretty please.

No, you're fine. I love you too, and I respect your opinions on everything, even the stuff that I just find mind-bogglingly wrong. In that thread, when it's kept there and in context, I can handle anything you want to throw at me. Give me your best shot, that's what it's there for. But this is like the third time it's gotten dragged OUT of that thread and into the bar room, and that's what's pissing me off about it. You've not done that.

I didn't mean edit like you pressed the Edit button, more like Edit as in "I never meant that..." though it's clear you did.

Second, I have NEVER ONCE SUGGESTED that EVERYONE who gets help is lazy. It's irresponsible and immature of you to suggest I have, as it's patently false. Now, please, keep it in the thread and cut this shit out. Pretty please.

Actually, you said it in various ways. I'll go back and find them, just so that you'll see for yourself.

Yet somehow we're in a culture of class warfare where those with less resent those with more and expect the government to take it from them and give it to someone else, and it's invariably wrong.

There. You implied that the poor of this country want the rich to have no money. That's patently false. In fact, the poor just want to eat. Which you seem to have a problem with if they get their food from the government.

Socialism is cowardice at its worst. It's the belief that the problems we face are too big for us to handle, and it's a lack of faith in ones self and ones peers to fix things on their own. Thus they turn to the government, hand them a huge chunk of their paychecks, and say "Please, rescue us".

You equated Welfare to Socialism, then claimed it cowardice if someone turned to the government for help to live.

Because of the cowardice of FDR and those of his day who would rather put off their problems on later generations, today those programs are complete messes.

You called FDR a coward for feeding his own starving people.

Point being, it's time people in this country had a little self respect and fixed their own issues rather than expecting someone else to do it for them. It's lazy, it's cowardly, and it's wrong.

Here you said that the people on Welfare need to get a "little self respect" and work for their own food, completely disregarding the fact that most on Welfare are working their asses off as it is.

Don't be getting touchy in here because we're taking what you said and finding offense from it. In fact, from your entire debate with me, it sounded exactly as if you wanted to completely undo government Welfare programs, which are what are keeping a lot of Americans fed. And your constant demands that Welfare recipients are lazy and cowardly didn't help at all.

Now. I'm off to build a god damned catapult. Everyone be fucking happy when I get back, around 8pm.

Umm...yeah, you guys could probably be debating this in the actual thread about this topic in the Cigar Lounge.
