[Official] X Marks the Spot: Xfearbefore Xclusive Thread

Probably because Thoreau was a genius. You a fan of Transcendentalism Brian?

Possibly.

To be honest, I couldn't tell you what I'm a fan of. Its just when you read stuff like that, stuff that just seems "epic" you wanna live it, but life ain't like that. Its depressing in a way.

What do you mean life's not like that? Life can be whatever you make it man.

Thoreau and Emerson are both marvelous to read. Walt Whitman as well.

Be a beatnik transcendentalist romantic.

Hmmm. I'll play it another way, though it may not work as well with you as I'm not sure what you read.

Say you've read a book, probably any book, and throughout you of course notice the relationships between the individuals. Normally theirs something they must live up too, some sort of creed. Will say they use Thoreau's quote in it. There's so many elements to their world, and it feels so...eh...fulfilling. Life's not like that. I look at what Thoreau said right there, and I get that little twinge in my heart (literally, or atleast in that area) and I think "Wow, being like that would be...amazing." But life ain't like that.

I'm kinda bad at explaining it, my bad. Basically one of my biggest faults is my over-active imagination and going along with my personality type; I try to "fabricate" life into something elaborate and "mystical" (I can't think of a better word), but find nothing more then dreariness and a constant repetition.

So in other words we're basically the same person Brian. I wish I could rep you to death. Literally until your account imploded.

I hate it, though if we're anything similar then you'd probably understand the amount of just plain agony that's gone through trying to discern the reality in relationships from ones own created fantasies.

The Jungian system is something I wholeheartedly have faith in. I've seen so many people who've taken it and said its nothing like them, when I know its exactly like them. Its actually kinda sad, that we've possibly been able to scientifically define personality. The individualism is gone, kinda.

This song seemed to be quite ironic to come up on my iPod considering what we're talking about:

Brian and X, Soul Rebels.

I've always called myself a "Naive Romanticist".

I think its a bad idea for me to go into movies, I'd get lost in the stories I make far too often.

What's up, X? How you been?
This week I've been feeling weird, happy one minute then the next minute kinda depressed, I think I should get out more, since at work I dont feel sad or depressed.

So, I have an idea for 2 books (both a begining and an end) but I have quite a few issues.

1. The 'fat'. Filling them out convincingly is difficult for me. I don't trust myself when it comes to the details and setting the scene. All those grand things.

2. Patience. I'm not sure I could actually take the time out to write a 200+ page book (hopefully more) no matter how much I get stuck in my head.

3. I think you've made comments about issues like this before, but I don't think I could do good communication. You know, realistic talking? I -really- need to take some sort of writing classes or something. ~_~

4. I'm not sure if its exactly a -good- idea. I'm not sure it'd be received very kindly. Its sort of childish. Then again, look at Harry Potter; eh? lol

X...I'm downloading City of God right now. I plan on leaving my computer on while I sleep and hopefully it will be finished by tomorrow so that I can watch it. If I watch it early and have nothing else to do, then I'll be watching District 9.

I downloaded the movie but it was all in Portuguese with not English subtitles. I thought the fact that I am Spanish and can speak it would mean that I would understand a lot of it but when they speak it sounds way to fast.

If you have a link to it with English subtitles do you think you could send it to me?

It's been raining all day long. I love it. Been on a Depeche Mode kick lately.

X...I just finished downloading District 9 and City of God from that website. It's way better than the one I used. I downloaded them at the same time and it was very quick.

Anyways, I downloaded those 2 movies, which other ones do you recommend? I am looking to download either a comedy one or a suspense one.
