Well, apparently, the puertorrican state college system (UPR) is entirely...fucked. Something about the government not being able to raise salaries, and our governor trying to privatize the college itself, which is a problem for most people...well basically, everyone that's enrolled, because FAFSA won't cover the cost of student enrollment. That, and I think its un-constitutional (weird how this term gets thrown around sometimes) 'cause there isn't another state college system. Plus, families with owned land will get a raise on their payments for land, and homes.

It also discloses that the exonerated values will be raised by 10 up to a maximum of 150,000. Disabled veterans&#8217; exemption will be raised by 10 up to 500,000. Also, the exempted value for other types of exemption will also be raised by a factor of 10.

Yeah, that plus the governor having a bright idea of firing over 50,000 employees. And the head of the Senate has a major case of haterism for the guy.

To be honest with you, we're a helluva lot better off being state. In here, it's mostly a cultural issue getting in the way. Then again, that's my real honest opinion. Make us independent, and we'd be hobbling for a long time, and who know where we'll be.

Thing is, EVERYONE here has powerful blind loyalty to the parties at present. I'm talking "i'll stab you for talking shit 'bout my governor" fanatism. Last governor had 24 charges against him for fraud, buying suits and sending his probably stupid-ass kids to a college in England with supposedly...the campaign money he received; and even then, people form his party worshipped the fucking ground he walked on. Then, this new governor preached for change (think Obama, but the fucker never followed through on anything at all) and everyone bought it. He gets elected, and this crap started to happen.

Why can't there be a tough motherfucker for office? I would seriously vote for the head of senate:
