Summerslam 2010
Match #1: Intercontinental Championship (Kofi Kingston vs Dolph Ziggler)
Kofi was late interrupting Vickie, which I found a tad funny, but she just used the time to get a little more heat anyway. Ziggler and Kofi had a nice back and forth opening bout. Kofi tried some high risk and Ziggler evaded for a nice crash and burn spot. A nice touch for me is when a heel tries to get a countout victory to retain a title, and Ziggler tried that here. It makes me feel like (1.) the heel has a brain and (2.) the title actually is being fought for.
After some further action, Ziggler locks in his sleeper hold and the Nexus comes from nowhere to beat the snot out of both guys (mainly Kofi). Barrett gets on the mic and basically says that what they just did will happen to team WWE and anyone that even thinks of being guy #7. Oh, well...

Match #2: Diva's Championship (Alicia Fox vs Melina)
Melina never really lost this title, and Fox was just in the right place at the right time to get it. This match seemed pretty sloppy to me, and most of it was coming from Melina. I can't say that I was super-excited about the contest in the first place, but any ring rust just killed it completely.
Thankfully, this one stayed short and got to the point. Melina planted Fox and regained the title that she never really lost in the first place. Afterwords, Lay-Cool came out to complain about lack of competition on smackdown and to have a photo-op with Melina. That didn't last and Melina ate the announcer's table. I guess some cross-brand rivalry will come from this.

Match #3: 3-on-1 Handicap Match (The SES vs The Big Show)
I actually like the two main guys in this one (Show and Punk), but they just don't seem to click together. Cole explains that the heels will have to tag in and out, but that rule quickly is overturned, apparently. Maybe it just didn't exist...
The action here is pretty basic, with Show taking turns dominating and succumbing to the numbers advantage. Eventually, Punk just has enough of it and runs up the ramp with Serena, where he watches Show chokeslam Mercury on Gallows for the win. I don't know where the SES or the Big Show are going from here, but hopefully this amounts to something.

Match #4: WWE Championship (Sheamus vs Randy Orton)
Unlike most, I actually kinda liked the Royal Rumble match between these two, so I was looking forward to this match as well. Randy is red hot with the crowd, and Sheamus cut a nice promo in the back with Kane coming into this one, so the build is there.
The majority of the match sees some counters that result in Orton's shoulder being banged up. I always cringe when I see him take the spot over the top rope to the floor (the same one from the Triple H Last Man Standing match that put Orton out in 2008). Orton eventually starts his comeback, pumping up, but never hitting an RKO, which is constantly countered. Sheamus hits his backbreaker and kick, but Orton kicks out. Sheamus gets frustrated, goes for a chair, struggles with the ref, and gets DQ'd. Orton then beats him up and RKO's him on the table. Orton wins, but gets no title. Feud continues...?

Match #5: World Heavyweight Championship (Kane vs Rey Mysterio)
This is the complete opposite of the last match for me, as I have absolutely despised almost every match between Kane and Mysterio. Fortunately for me, this one may have been my favorite. For the first time in a while, I felt like their match actually did what it was supposed to do, with Kane playing the monster and Mysterio playing the victim.
To make a long story short, Kane won after finally catching Mysterio with a chokeslam. He then hit two more chokeslams and a tombstone piledriver before opening the ringside casket only to find the Undertaker inside. This weakened Taker confronted both guys before deciding to believe Rey Mysterio over his own brother. However, Kane, despite having a whole match, was too strong for Taker and Tombstoned him in the middle of the ring before hitting his pyro and leaving. To be concluded on smackdown, I would assume...

Match #7: Team Nexus vs Team WWE
Earlier in the night, Edge and Jericho tried to get Miz to be the seventh man, and later Miz accepted (while cutting a nice in-ring promo). Nexus come out first, and stand united in the ring. Then when Miz is about to come out last for Team WWE, Cena cuts him off, says he is too late to be the seventh man, because they already got somebody (I guess Edge and Jericho weren't in the loop for that). The real seventh man is none other than a returning Daniel Bryan. Yes, I marked out all over the place too.
Eliminations came quickly, but not too fast to take away from the competitors. In fact, only R-Truth and Darren Young seemed to be squashed in the match. Bret Hart went out to a DQ, Slater pinned Jericho and Edge, Sheffield pinned Morrison and Truth, Barrett pinned Bryan (after the Miz interfered and hit him with the Briefcase), Otunga lasted a decent amount of time, and Gabriel was eliminated by Cena after working a good portion of the match.
On the flip side, WWE was made to look "pro", for lack of a better term. Cena was superman, as always. Edge and Jericho really looked stronger than any individual Nexus guy. Bret Hart looked like he could actually still go (if only a little), and Bryan eliminated Young and Slater with a Crossface.
For a main event, even though the WWE did win, which does seem a tad anti-climactic, this match did its job. Almost all the talent was showcased, with guys like Skip Sheffield made to look amazing. This was my biggest problem going into the matchup; I feared that too many quick pins would make for a terrible show. On the contrary, the match felt fast paced and fun, while giving each guy a decent time to show off.
In the end, it was Barrett tapping out to Cena's STF to send the crowd home happy.

Overall:
Overall, I liked this show. It wasn't the best event I've ever seen, but it was far from the worst. To those that complain about the lack of card depth, I'd counter with the main event, which received a large portion of an hour all to itself. With 14 men in one ring, I'm sure it is worth at least two or three midcard matches.
To those that complain about the unclean finishes, I partially agree. Kofi vs Ziggler was fine to end the way it did because it served its purpose. It could be said that Ziggler was about to win anyway, didn't make either guy look weak, allows for the possibility of a rematch, and made Nexus look strong. Orton vs Sheamus ending in a DQ was something I saw coming, just to allow one more match (possibly gimmick) to blow off the rivalry. If you look at where everyone else is going on RAW, these two would lack direction without each other right now. It makes sense.
Finally, to those that complain about Cena winning/superman/not turning heel, I get it. Many wanted Nexus to win because they had more to gain than WWE did. I think in the big picture, Nexus will rebound and come back to pick up a big win in the near future. The WWE wanted to send the fans home happy on one of their bigger cards, and they did. Two big returns and Cena posing to end the show makes up for Rey and Randy not winning the major titles. Best of all, the storylines are shaping up, and will hopefully continue to make sense in the coming months.
