Now that we've presumably got Apollo Crews to look forward to, I'll say it: I didn't particularly care for the Zayn/Nakamura match either. It was good, but it was basically the match you get whenever you get two big names at an indie show with no history - they do the greatest hits, do each other's taunts, trade forearms and send everyone home happy. The Cena Raw dark match in which he beats Bray Wyatt to send the kids home happy but for thirty-year-old Japanese wrestling fans. I don't know how you can expect it to win over non-converts, nor how you can compare it favourably to any of Zayn's previous Takeover matches, and I'm definitely including the one against Tyler Breeze.

That feels like too broad of a description of what the match was about to me. You could describe probably 90% of matches ever using a similar description. There was so much detail work put in there by both guys, and, as X pointed out, there's a huge component of it that was them having the crowd in the palm of their hand the entire time.

Because they were already familiar with Nakamura. It was a sensible structure and they played to the crowd they had but to say that you can't like wrestling and not like that match is several steps too far.

Anyway, shh, if they have the gall to call this the main event, I want to see why.

You probably could, yes. I'm not saying the match was shit, I'm saying it wasn't incredible ***17/32 stars to use your terminology.

What Sam said exactly summed that match up to me. If you put these matches in front of a wrestling audience that had never seen any of these wrestlers and polled them, it would probably rank behind the women and the tag match.
