NXT 20/6/12 with KI

Remix

Is a thin rope
Well i'm watching the German version, but hopefully that won't affect the commentary or anything like that. We start off with a fucking awesome video package talking about how "NXT is the story of those few individuals who have the courage to even try" to achieve their dreams. Damn well put together stuff. New theme too, Welcome Home I think it's called the opening "credits" were pretty sweet too.

William Regal has a little voice over before JR comes down. He says nothing of consequence, but brings out NXT interim GM Dusty Rhodes. He says some things, I'm not quite sure what, but golly he sounded excited. We also get a Bo Dallas vignette, which brought back fond memories of Season one. There's also a classic Raw moment - SCSA attacking McMahon - but back to the show. The aforementioned Bo Dallas is in the ring against Rick Victor, though he got the jobber entrance.

Bo Dallas vs Rick Victor

Both men know how to go, so let's do this. They start out with some basic grappling, allowing the commentators (JR and Regal) to talk about both guys. Victor is a dungeon grad, in case you didn't know. The crowd is damn hot and behind Bo in this one. The aforementioned Bo gets the better of the opening exchange with a takeover and an armdrag before dropping down to work the arm. Victor gets to his feet and backs Bo into the corner, striking him hard with chops and uppercuts. However, he's quickly put in the corner and Bo just punches him. Bo is really in control now, tossing him across the ring a couple of times before hitting a snap powerslam and ending it with a spear. No rating for squashes, no matter how fun this match was.

On the ramp he gets accosted by Briley Pierce (he's Ziggler's smaller, brown haired brother) Bo says nothing much before we get taken to Seth Rollins' Vignette. He debuts next week. We also get one for Cesaro, who will also be on the next show. Good stuff.

Sandow makes him way to the ring after those packages, his opponent also got the jobber entrance. Jason Jordan (who actually holds an FCW victory over Sandow) is deemed unworthy, so no match but a good promo, fair trade really.

The Ascension ets a vignette that makes me mark the fuck out. These guys must be seen to be believed. Just awesome stuff, and their up next... right after an ADR video package for MITB, it's pretty amazing to tell you the truth. The Raw Rebound (Big Johnny's final act) however, isn't. I want to see the Ascension, damnit!

Tag Team Match: The Ascension vs CJ Parker and Mike Dalton

The Ascension's entrance is fucking awesome, and we're 3 for 3 for matches having Jobber Entrances. That didn't last long, with Ascension just killing CJ. Total Squash, but a smile never left my face. Glorious.

The main event is next, and it should be getting plenty of time. Good-oh.

Amazing Bray Wyatt promo, the boogieman is real (we know, he likes to eat worms and lie about his age) and parents shouldn't tell their kids otherwise. Awesome sauce, he truely is. Come a million miles from his days as Duke Rotundo and Husky Harris. We also get Johnny Curtis and Derrick Bateman having a meeting in the men's room. They're doing it in the ring next week. Whatever floats their boats.

No jobber entrances in the main event, which is getting approximately one buttload of time.

Main Event: Tyson Kidd vs Michael McGillicutty

We start out slow, but Kidd quickly speeds things up, getting the better of McGillicutty. The American goes to the outside (which gets him a lot of heat) and briefly takes control in a Greco-Roman knuckle lock, but gets clotheslined to the outside so Kidd can hit a suicide dive to take us to a break.

Kidd's still in control when we come back, just pounding on McGillicutty in the corner. He maintains it briefly, hitting a leg lariat but Mike cuts him down with a rope hung neckbreaker. He continues to lay blows and work over the neck of Kidd, but can't get it done. Does get plenty of heat though. Kidd gets a hope spot from a cradle pin, but a clothesline to the neck soon after reaffirms that he's not getting control that easily. Kidd's out into the tree of woe, where he gets hit some more, and given a cross face, which is from a position i've never seen before. 'Tis rather cool. Only gets a near fall though. Kidd gets put there again, but has the sense to dodge the baseball slide giving Mike bruised testes and Kidd the chance to take control. He does so with a multitude of kicks. However he eats a drop kick when attempting a springboard for a near fall. Mike takes Tyson to the top, but gets sent down the hard way before getting a moonsault press for being so foolish. Dungoeon Lock blocked, and Kidd gets Saito Suplexed for a near fall. To rub salt in the wound, Mike locks in a sharpshooter, but Kidd gets to the ropes. Perfectplex countered into a rollup, and the Dungeon Lock ends it. Good match B+

Show rating: A

This show was a ton of fun and with no trace of irony I say you should all go watch it. Good fun shit.

I've heard it was the opposite of fun. Guess I'll just have to watch tonight and make my own decision. I trust not a word Remix says when it comes to WWE developmental talent.

Well here's the show itself:

I'll throw down some of my thoughts on this show:

  • I'm rather happy to see a new theme over Wild and Young. I don't know much of Cohead and Cambria but I know Welcome Home and it's a tune.
  • Bo Dallas' pre and post match promo was absolutely terrible. The guy has no charisma(Despite what Regal & Ross says) and speaks too fast mumbling half of it.
  • I felt that Rick Victor should've been displayed more than what we saw in that match. I know it was meant to showcase BoBoBoBo but honestly the guy mounts a fantastic comeback that's miles better than his offense, let's see that maybe?
  • Ross and Regal better be a permanent fixture
  • Seth Rollins' vignette actually intrigued me, but then i realized that he is balls.
  • Antonio Cesaro's vignette also made him look like gold. This is a reoccurring theme throughout the night.
  • Ascension are one of the best things about WWE developmental. Their showcase here showed them as fantastic with a good style and cool albeit unoriginal finisher.
  • I forgot to mention Damien Sandow. He didn't have his match but he cut one of the promo's that made me a fan of his. Hard to believe his original gimmick was that of a colonel.
  • Bray Wyatt promo. One of the things that must be seen and like the Ascension, he's one of the best things in FCW not named Dean Ambrose.
  • Ah Derrick Bateman. Die. I like Curtis though. They promote their match as the main event next week.
  • The main event was fantastic. These two had what was the best feud of NXT that could've made it to the Wrestlemania card. Regal said that Hennig doesn't know his full potential & WWE doesn't either. Hennig looked better in this match with some sweet moves all throughout and some great crowd work. The crowd did seem a bit confused at first chanting "USA" in the early minutes but then went pro-Tyson as they should. This match was near perfection with the adequate amount of time given.
  • If NXT does this format every week with short showcase matches and long main events with established talents then this show will be pretty awesome in the long run.
  • Overall it was a great show however there was a lack of Kassius Ohno and that made me sad. Overall though it was a great show. Watch or be suspicious like Coco.

Just watched it. I really like this Bo Dallas kid. I liked his promos but he does mumble a bit. The guy is dripping in charisma though.

Bo Dallas is fucking dreadful. There about five truly great talents in FCW, and he isn't one of them. The fact that he's getting a push saddens me.

Disagree, the guy's a sodding master at working the WWE baby face style. He is much better at making a comeback than being on continued offense though.

Sort of related but Kenneth Cameron is only 26! He's so good though and has a good future ahead of him.
