"Nothing lasts forever NOTHING"

Pre-Show Stalwart
Hear me out. I still remember this quote from Shawn Michaels 9 months after he said it and cant help but get it out of my head. I'm not saying its a plan to get him out of retirement but do you think WWE/Shawn would pull this to get him back if he ever decides he wants to come back? IMO this is a PERFECT way for him to come back. He can come back and cost UT or anyone a match (like he did to UT at elimination chamber), than the following night explain when he said "nothing lasts forever nothing." that he was serious and go on a MASSIVE heal streak saying we all fell for it and that he's no where near retiring. As I said I'm not saying it was a "plan" all along, but it could *possibly* happen.

BTW I am NOT a Shawn Michaels fan and dont care one way or another if he does or doesn't come back so this isn't a fantasy/fanboy post.

As much as I would love a HBK return, he is not coming back. This isn't a story line retirement, it is 100% real. I follow HBK on facebook and the man is having fun retired.

Shawn is smart enough to know he was lucky to get a 2nd crack at a career at all after the back injury... You can hardly blame the guy for wanting to see his kids grow up and not go back... You know he will show up from time to time in the old Roddy Piper role of special ref... but stop wishing for something that shouldn't ever happen.

I know it wont happen, BUT if a guy wants to wish he can, i love the idea of him coming back at Mania and givin a lil sweet chin music to taker to cost him...I know it wont happen but i have played it over and over in my mind..haha..

besides wierd86 said it wasnt a fantasy of his..hes just sayin...

He's not coming back. Ever. He got out while he was still healthy enough which is great. Now he is spending his time relaxing, making silly videos and just enjoying life with his loved ones. Good for him.

Change topic. He's doing the same smart move that Austin did, and that's going out with a memorable match solidifying his place in history. Anything else is not necessary and would tarnish his rep. Period.

Okay I love HBK and all this talk about him and retirement is making me miss him even more. Actually I was starting to not to miss him as much anymore but now that you brought this up I miss him now more than ever. I will always miss HBK because he is one of my favorites of all time right behind Stone Cold and as much as I would love for him to come back he's not.

He is enjoying retirement and he wants to see his son and his little girl grow up and there is absoulty nothing wrong with that. People can't stay in the WWE forever and I'm glad that I got to see him wrestle. He will always be remebered as one of the best and he will always be missed. HBK like some people said will make guest appereances here and there like Stone Cold so he will never truley be gone. Even if he doesn't do that {which I'm sure he will} he will never be gone because as long as one person remebers you, you are never truley gone.

I see this as we didn't know what we had until we lost it. So we need to enjoy the wrestlers we have now because none of them will be there forever not even Triple H. So thats what I do especially now since I know Edge the last full time wrestler in my fav top five is leaving in two years. So no I doubt HBK will come back.

Shawn won't come back. Like has already been said, he had a second chance at his career... he knows there's only so many opportunities. There's no way he'll come back. He got a farewell show, and he genuinely meant everything he said, at least I think so. I mean, Ric Flair came back but that is a totally different scenario. Shawn has always been a man of his word, ALWAYS. Even back before he reformed religions and all that he was one thing: Honest. If he says he's done, he's done. I'm pretty sure you're just reading way too much into something he said a while back.

First off weird86 the fact that you dont like HBK makes your user name obvious. Secondly I would love to see HBK come back, but two things poke a hole in your scenario, firstly I dont believe HBK would come back as a heal, being a christian and a wrestler was hard enough let alone a heel, secondly HBK isnt a filthy lying sell out like Flair. As much as I would love to see HBK come back, I would lose respect for him if he did.

In my opinion that will never happen. I don't think he will ever come back especially not as a heel. I'm sure he'll make an appearance here and there, but I don't think he'll do anything long term especially wrestle. He seems to be happy being with his family all the time.

I think he'll keep his word and stay retired I'm sure he's financially set for life and he's probably still on the WWE's payroll. I doubt he'll end up near broke and still wrestling when he's their age.

By wishing for it you destroy the legacy... Because Shawn has long said, when he can't do it at the top level...he won't... He clearly got to a point where he felt he would be in that situation soon so he left... By wanting him back it puts the guy in the impossible position of letting fans down or going back on his word... It was different for Flair, he was well past his best years ago... but Shawn was on that bubble... by clamouring for a return... you might just get it... and be disappointed or worse Shawn would be...

Get behind one of the new guys... one of them must have something you can like...

Shawn Michaels doesn't need to come back to wrestling. While the, "Nothing lasts forever," quote certainly carries a great deal of truth to it, let's remember Shawn Michael's career.

He's been wrestling since 1984, and in the WWF/E since 1988. He has had all sorts of injuries that would have left a lesser man in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. He's faced the biggest superstars from the 80's, 90's, and 00's. He's held every title imaginable (with the exception of the Hardcore belt, but he's too good for that one), and he's partaken in some of the most memorable matches in the history of professional wrestling.

Perhaps you're looking into this wrong. I would venture to guess Shawn Michaels wasn't referring to his retirement when he said nothing last forever, but rather his illustrious career. Shawn Michaels doesn't need to wrestle, and deserve his retirement.

In my eyes this retirement of HBK is permenant, he won't be wrestling again.

As much as I miss the guy, and he was still capable of stealing a show every night he got in the ring, he left at the top after a classic match, when he was still healthy. He is grateful he got a second run in the WWE after initialling retiring from a severe back injury years ago, and the man just wants to enjoy his well-earned retirement. He put himself through so much for us.

BUT

If by saying the "nothing lasts forever...NOTHING!" remark, it does leave the door open for a one-off return somewhere down the line, as unlikely as it is.

If Michaels ever came back, it WOULD NOT be as a heel, I can guarantee that. His religion makes it hard for him to play that role now, and the crowd reaction would be too great for him to be a heel, they love him too much.

So, I don't think he'll be coming back to wrestle, but if he did this would be an ok way of handling it, but only as a Face, not a Heel

"Nothing lasts forever...NOTHING! So, I'm back to steal the show...ONE MORE TIME!!"

The only way HBK would be called back would be as a special favor. If the company was in such dire straits that it looked to be the end. I think he would come back to help.

Outside of that unlikely scenerio, the only other match I see him having is the night after he is inducted in the hall of fame. Kind of like his unsanctioned match against HHH in 2002.

But honestly, I don't think he'll be back. Seems to be enjoying himself a little bit. Then again, 2 or 3 years from now, he could always get that itch.

Yeah Shawn is done. He isn't come back i would MTFO if he did, but its a fools wish.
He isn't gonna pull a Rick Flair and, come back he is happy being retired, if anything i can see him coming back as a behind the scenes guy who doesn't have to travel and or maybe open up a school or something, but he has wrestled his last match.
