Is it really that bad to go without a gaming system for a week? Bit too attached. Games should be banned for a year in all countries, and the obesity levels should be monitored to see how much effect these stupid things have on people. Naturally, a lot of nerdy people will have problems with that, but what are they going to do? Write a blog about it?

Technically, it can take up to a month. And then some.
I should know, I've had the red ring of death twice. The first time I had it, I waited forever to send it off though because I wanted to make sure everything I was doing was just right.
The second time, I pretty much threw the fucker in the box, half-ass wrapped it, and called xbox a day after I shipped it demanding a completely NEW system.
Shocky, I had a thread in the gaming section on how to handle everything regarding this, if you haven't had this happen to you before.

My brother had gotten his pre-ordered, and just a few days before Christmas it shit out on him. He had jsut gotten a boatload of games for Christmas too. He got it back a few days ago, and it's fine, for now...

It may or may not depend on the length you play it as well. I was pretty silent at playing mine.. then picked up huge a while back, and bam.. it shit on me.
I got it back and almost felt scared to touch it. Then got into it again, everything got back to normal and bam.. anal raped again.
I'm to the point right now that I almost want to buy a 2nd system, just to have as a back-up for when I know the main one will crap out for a 3rd time. Because apparently whatever the issue is.. it's majorly unfixable.

No, I just hate video games and don't believe they're worth all the time they are given. Sure, anyone's entitled to be pissed off if something doesn't work, but people are just too obsessed with video games and I find that ridiculous.
