Ok, so there are several people out there who like both of these men. But in the "New Jersey Rock Turf War," there are Bon Jovi fans, and there are Bruce Springsteen fans. You can't tell a Springsteen fan that Bon Jovi is superior and expect a calm response, and vice versa. Since this match up did not come to fruition in the rock tournament (they were on opposite sides of the 80's bracket and would have needed to topple Metallica and Guns N Roses to meet in the regional final), it seems to me like a great time for a grudge match.

Bon Jovi

Helped launch careers like Richie Sambora. 4th album simply entitled "New Jersey" helped put the Garden State on the rock map. 6 #1 singles. Slippery When Wet went platinum 12 times, with New Jersey going platinum 7 times. A picture of consistency, only one of Bon Jovi's ten studio albums - 2002's "Bounce" - did not go platinum. 1994's Greatest Hits compilation went to #1 in the UK, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Austraillia, New Zealand, Japan, and all of Europe.

Bruce Springsteen

Helped launch careers like Steven van Zandt and Max Weinberg. 1st studio album entitles "Greetings from Asbury Park, NJ helped inspirse the Bam Bam Bigelow finishing maneuver. Album "Born in the USA" went platinum 15 times, followed by a live compilation that went platinum 13 times. Total of 10 albums went platinum 2 or more times. 5 songs went to #1 on the US Rock charts. Hold the NJ State record for consecutive sold out nights with 13.

Not really a fan of either, but I'd have to say Springsteen is by far the more better of the two, Bon Jovi is just shit, pure shit, and was really nothing more than just another crappy hair/glam band from the 80s, Springsteen actually wrote and played well written songs that had meaning, and didn't need to rely on the current popular music trend to achieve his success, he created his own success unlike his shitty competition here, simply put Springsteen is the better band/musician

Well I like both bands, Bon Jovi had some classic outputs (esp. in the 80ies) that everyone knows - but their songwriting talents are pretty limited compared to Springsteen, who has everything from straight-out rockers, long-winded epics, light and sometimes even cheesy love-songs, very emotional pieces etc...

For me, the vote is clear: The Boss takes his one.
