Fuckin' :worship:! That's all I gotta say about that.

Aww thank you very much Cookie and Mr Steve :) I always enjoy reading your music posts.

(And yeah Cookie- Laura Marling is coming to Dublin in a month I think. I might just have to see her :)- thanks for the advice on that )

I like it. The one I REALLY disagree with though is Alien Ant Farm. Any song of theirs should never be on a top anything list. I will never forgive them for doing a shit cover of such a classic fucking song.

Yes!

Definitely go for it. I'm jealous, I'd love to see her play live.

I kinda know what you mean Via Armbar- but I really like that song. The album was a good listen as well when it origonally came out. It takes a lot for a band to annoy me :)

Its all a bit mad for the next few months- Laura Marling, Marina and the Diamonds, Ellie Goulding, Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip, and MGMT!

I might be missing something, but I had been told to check MGMT out so I went and picked up a cd. I don't remember the name of the album but it had Kids and Electric Feel on it. I really felt like those were the only two songs on the album that were not just good, but the only two that I could even listen to at all. Was that a bad choice, do they have better work?

At the moment they only have the one album out- and those are really the standout songs from it. I like future reflections too- the last song on the album- but yeah the album is average compared to the two hits. They are meant to be really amazing live though.

MGMT are the tits even though they're overrated. You didn't like the song The Youth?

The CD is called Oracular Spectacular.

4 the same as my list, a lot of same band, different songs, and a few that would make my top 200 but not 100, make this probably the best list. That isn't mine, obiviously.

First of all, "Kids" and "Time to pretend" are MGMT's best songs from Oracaular Spectacular.

Second of all, Nita is indeed a woman.

Third of all, MRC's list was awesome. I listed quite a few of them myself and would have listed more Beatles and Arctic Monkeys had it not been for my urge to make it more varied.

All of this was truth. Don't worry Dave, I looked at your list and copied.

I was like, should I vary it more? but then I thought, fuck it, it's my list not the general publics.

Yeah, I was thinking that myself but I decided to add some more varied songs anyway. My whole list would probably been made up of Arctic Monkeys, Beatles, Kinks and selected others if I didn't. I look at your list though and think of all the awesome songs I fucking missed. I should have put more Bloc Party and Muse on it. Plus, I completely forgot to put one of my favourite songs ever on it, "Dreaming of You" by The Coral.

GET OUT OF MY HEAD

Damn it. Should have put it in.

Yeah I definably could have varied it more. It was hard for me to put Muse in though, because choosing one song is hard, and putting three songs off one album is a lot, I thought. I contemplated Starlight and Take a Bow as well.

I think I only put about 3 Muse songs in and 4 or 5 Arctic Monkeys. If I was actually making a list of my 100 songs that I would class as the best in my library, there would be so many more from those bands on there. I wanted to put a few classics in there too. That's why I went for things like "The Middle" and "Blurry". I love these lists though, I have went through everyone's picking out songs that I had forgotten about. Yours is probably the closest you will likely get to mine but I still realised how many awesome songs I had missed completely.

When I put in like, The Middle and Flagpole Sitta, I was like, what are the songs that are good no matter what and you can listen to them 10 years later and still enjoy them, even if you grew up with them.

And yeah. Ta da.

I think I went for diversity than picking all my favourite songs by some artists. In reality there probably would be a lot more songs by a number of artists there- I can't believe now that I actually forgot Rammstien

But yeah I agreed a lot with your lists- The Beatles and The Kinks were artists I would like to have included as well. Shadow made me remember I had forgot the Rolling Stones.... Really I think there are too many good songs to really attempt a proper top 100. It will be interesting to see how they all come together. Does Tastycles have a list up? I couldn't see it on the board.

(And yes Dave I actually meant Kids and Time to Pretend- for some reason I misread Electric Feel )

Yeah, Tasty has a list up. It is in TDigs list thread.

But yeah, The Kinks are one of my favourite bands. Couple them with the Beatles and I probably could have made a list of my 50 favourite songs including just them. No matter, it is done now. I did give you a shout on my list though, Nita. That Gogol Bordello song you posted a while ago is awesome. I a listening to it right now...

Start wearing Purple? Yeah I really like that song- it was moderately big a couple years ago I think. I think I once heard it in a club and it was really amazing- its really fun dancing song. If you like that you should also try Wanderlust King- its another fast paced one by them.

Haha!

I already downloaded it. Once I heard Start Wearing Purple, I downloaded a few more of their songs to see what kind of feel they had. I am not really a fan of the other stuff but Start Wearing Purple is awesome.
