Nexus higher power angle.

Hulk Hogan's Brother

Stop asking me what I'm gonna do!!!
Just can't help thinking that amidst all this speculation of either Lauranitis or Kane or the freakin Rock being the higher power, the best explanation would have been that there was no higher power.

Barrett perpetrated the hoax that there was a higher power to get Nexus together. I mean why would someone buy Barrett, a guy who had not accomplished more than his fellow Nexus colleagues at that point, as their leader. Sure he won NXT but that does not mean that everyone will start to believe in whatever you say. However if Barrett managed to convince the others that a more powerful person was actually funding their cause, it would start making sense why everyone started believing in him.

I think this would have been the best move to enhance Barrett's reputation.

If a veteran would've come in as the higher power, we would've bitched about how he is hogging the young 'uns spotlight. Well atleast a good number of 'Nexus star buried' threads would've popped and merged by a rather peeved and sex deprived WWE moderator, no names.

I can't remember Barrett having ever mentioned a "higher power". I know he referenced a "bigger picture" a time or two. But, that could mean a number of things.

As for who would buy him as the leader. I'd say who wouldn't. He seems to be the only member of Nexus who is noteworthy in any way, shape, or form.

Even if Barrett was the most noteworthy guy in the Nexus, that does not mean that people would suddenly agree to this plan of forming a group of total greenhorns and try and take over the WWE. That seems something far too outrageous to go through with unless Barrett managed to convince them that someone more powerful was backing them.
