NEW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION! - Keep It All In Here!!

Bryan Danielson, remember that guy a lot of people said would become nothing in the WWE and get released and just continue to be nothing? That guy is now the new World Heavyweight Champion after cashing in the Money in the Bank briefcase on Big Show after a post-match attack from Mark Henry.

Surely there will be consequences, because Big Show will be pissed, but for tonight December 18th 2011, Daniel Bryan Danielson is the NEW World Heavyweight Champion.

Victory for the world!!

Mark out Moment for me!!

Anyway he did it. He went from being the best in the indies to being on top of the world of wrestling in general. Nothing much more I can say here but I really do hope that he holds it through Wrestlemania and solidifies himself as a main eventer in WWE. Only time will tell that though.

The guy bores the absolute shit out of me, and just last week was beaten clean by Cody Rhodes, and has barely won a match the last 3 months.

I hope this only serves as a way to make someone like Barrett, Ziggler (moves back to SD!) or Rhodes the WHC without having them go over Mark Henry.

Otherwise, Smackdown is going to be terrible.

My problem with this victory is daniel bryan never got any steam with his push. He has been losing matches. He was not heavily pushed like a ziggler or rhodes or barrette.

Which lead to the fact im afraid D bryan might end up as a paper champion or like a Jack Swagger.

Either way atleast d bryan achieved his goal in the E.

Amazing for Bryan Danielson to get the big title victory and it could not have come at a better time. The fans are all behind him at the moment as was seen when his music hit. The crowd went nuts for Bryan Danielson and I was marking out. I hope this title reign last until WrestleMania so Danielson looks like a strong champion. It was a real surprise that Big Show won and while I didn't like that, having the cash in made the PPV for me.

Great moment for Bryan Danielson who earned it. With all the support he has from the fans it was a great time to pull the trigger and give him the title.

I agree 100%. Sure the guy can wrestle but he is boring beyond belief. He would have fit in perfect in the Era of Bob Backlund. They should have had Bryan cash in and lose then develop an edgier, scornful persona. I do believe he will lose it by Rumble because this guy is in no way ready to headline Wrestlemania.

Must've drank Haterade too, because Daniel Bryan doesn't have what it takes to be a champion in WWE. Doesn't have the charisma. Doesn't have the look. Vanilla midget all the way. Vince must've bumped his head.

WOOOOH im so happy... I am MARKING THE SHIT OUT!!!

But all things aside, what does this mean? Daniel Bryan is still not believable as champion.... he is loosing matches clean to Cody and has been beaten by Henry plenty in weeks gone by.
Wade Barrett next Heavyweight Champion? I certainly hope so...another MARKOUT from me there...... but will DBryan turn HEEL after cashing in on BigShow? Will his title reign last? I cant even think what is going to happen?

A good PPV? It certainly has been!

I flipped out. I loved it!

Me and my brother are both watching on our Mac's, and his was about 15 seconds ahead. And as soon as Show got DDT onto the chairs i took out my ear buds and said D. Bryan should..... and he had already won. So the excitement was diminished a bit.

IMO everybody won in this situation.
Show will stay over, and tacks on one more title win to his career.
Henry stays big and bad, not losing to little D.Bri.
And Bryan obviously got his World Title.

With this win, Cody's win, Ryders win, and Sheamus's win... all i need now is for Punk to retain and all the members of my FAVE FIVE will have a win tonight. With 4 of them being champions.

While I'm happy for Bryan, I don't get it.

He cashed it in on Henry and Long nullified it. Where was he this time?

Maybe they wanted to wait until tonight so Bryan could carry the title into 2012.

If anybody can explain, I'd be grateful.

But until then, happy for D-Bry to get the World Title. I don't know as much about him as other people do, but nice to see a fresh new little guy with great skills to hold the title. Things should interesting on the Road to WrestleMania

Mark Henry got knocked out by Show to start a Smackdown the week after Big Show did the chair/body splash thing to damage Henry's ankle. This makes it so that Henry wasn't medically cleared going into that episode of Smackdown which makes him unable to compete.

This time around, no doctor could medically say Big Show was unable to compete because it was a post-match beatdown from Henry which left Show vulernable therefore logic shows that Danielson cashing on on Show is fair game, that's why Long nullified it on Smackdown.

I am ecstatic for D'Bryan. Yes, I called him D'Bryan. I hope that this means we'll get to see some "smaller" champions in the future ie- Ziggler, Cody, etc. I hope Bryan can manage to hold onto the title for a while. I have a feeling this can turn into a great underdog angle a la Mikey Whipwreck from the original ECW where Bryan continuously "upsets" future challengers. I totally think he deserves the title, although I am a little disappointed he didn't get to cash it in at 'Mania like he promised. That would've made for a much better story. None the less I am stoked.

I'm happy for bryan, not because im a huge fan but because it's a breath of fresh air in the wwe right now. Would it be very cliche IWC-ish of me to go ahead and label them our bret adn hbk of today? *inb4theflame*

I'm mixed on this as of right now. I'm sure a lot of people have some uncertain feelings as to where they stand on this and those feelings probably won't be resolved until we see how they follow up with this.

On one hand, it was a very cool moment. After all, Bryan Danielson is a guy that many people were screaming would NEVER win a World Championship in WWE after it was announced that he'd signed with them. Bryan was already written off by them without really being given a chance or Bryan was written off by some using the tired arguments of "WWE ONLY LYKES BIG GUYZ!!!" or "WWE ONLY LYKES GUYZ DEY MADE!!!".

On the other hand, I do find myself wondering if they did this to give Bryan a brief reign because they ultimately don't trust him in the WHC picture at WrestleMania yet. After all, when Bryan did win, the first thing that popped into my mind was Jack Swagger. Bryan isn't as weak as Swagger had been when he cashed in MITB, not nearly, but Bryan is also someone that's not been positioned as a powerhouse in the World Championship picture.

I read a report earlier today that Mark Henry suffered a pulled groin during his match with Cena on Raw this Monday and that the decision to take the title off Henry was because of that. Who knows how extensive the injury is, so this means that the WWE may have had to change whatever plans that they ultimately had.

I wanna be optimistic that Bryan will have a solid run as champion, but I honestly don't know right now. It's all up in the air. I do know that this will probably be greeted with tons of criticism for how it went down. Well, how it went down is the very definition of "unpredictable". People piss & moan how predictable wrestling has become, yet there's every bit as much criticism tossed at WWE even when they do something that people don't see coming.

So...... We finally have it. One of IWC's golden boys is at the top of WWE. And with Cm Punk retaining and ofcourse Zack Ryder winning the US title, it seems TLC turned out to be IWC's wet dream.
So, what is your reaction towards Bryan's title win? Has it come too early? Did he really deserve it?
I know Mark Henry was injured, but should the title be kept on him? And lastly are you happy the way Bryan became the champion?..... Thoughts

I am happy for Daniel Bryan but I personally have no interest in him, I never saw him Indy's and I dont follow others people hype just because they saw him there. I havent been on the forums for half a year but I felt like I needed to get back on since what's going on in wrestling is really making me talk. I believe I could've accepted this in any other circumstances but not now. It's easier to swallow now that I know why the title was taken off of Henry but still if u do the initials of Big Show you get BS and that's exactly what kind of title reign or the lack there of bigshow was given. I feel sorry for Bigshow and I actually like him and find him entertaining for the most part. I don't see Bryan holding the title that long and I think it will be given to someone else but WWE has been surprising me with their actions like letting kane return BEFORE the ppv so we will see.

All I can say is "It's about time". If you've been a Bryan Danielson fan, The American Dragon, as long as many people like myself have, this is nothing short of miraculous. Years ago nobody would have ever thought he would make it to the WWE or that if he did we would one day be calling him World Heavyweight Champion. I am glad for him, and I am even more glad because of all the crap he's been given by Michael Cole on television. Cole probably isn't actually down on him like he displays on tv, but to have a strong on air personality dump on him so much and then have to eat his words, makes all of it worth while. I can't say this is going to be a long run, or that the WWE really trusts him much like Jack-Hammer said, but for the moment that doesn't matter. Just relishing in the moment, this is a great day, a great ppv to have seen for this reason, and it couldn't have happened to a better guy. I don't really care HOW it happened, the point is that it happened. Congratulations Bryan Danielson, you are the American Dragon, and you are now The WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Not much a problem with him cashing in the MiTB but with the fact that the cash in created a second title change in a matter of moments. If they were gonna have Bryan cash it in, at least have Henry retain it to avoid the unnecessary hot potato-treatment of the championship. Well, what's done is done I guess.

As for him potentially having a Swagger-esque title run:
Of course it could happen and this reign of his could end up making him look bad. The creative team has had great(CM Punk terrific storyline) and awful(Anticlimatic end to the conspiracy storyline; booking of the walkout angle) stretches. Let's hope that creative can come through with the clutch and help Bryan's title run(I say help because in the end, Bryan will be the one performing in the ring and on the mic) become a memorable one.

If we compare their respective situations, I'd say Bryan has been given more exposure and relevance compared to the Swag man prior to their respective cash-ins. Swagger was jobbing to Santino prior to his big win at WM26 and literally almost nobody picked him to win. Bryan, on the other hand, has been significantly given more exposure on both Smackdown! and RAW and involvement in relevant storyline/moments/segments. Plus, Bryan can cut a promo(I actually like Bryan's exchange with Cole during an episode of Smackdown!) while Swagger couldn't back then(Still can't).

The guy has been losing basically every match for the past couple of months. He hasn't been in any noteworthy feuds. He hasn't done much in the WWE for months. The IC champ just pinned him clean on SD. I know he is an IWC darling but this reminds me of Jack Swagger. If he didn't have his indy reputation to live off of.. I dont know how thrilled people would be.

Hopefully for his sake he can actually gain momentum from his first world title win like Sheamus did. And not end up like Swagger or Del Rio. Because he is still not over with a lot of WWE audience.

And they killed Henry. You built up Henry this much to have Big Show pin him? That is horrible booking. You had one of your biggest stars in Orton put over Henry. They should of had Henry beat Big Show. And get knocked out by Big Show post match for DB.

im glad that daniel is the champ finally. i marked out, totally excited. sadly i dont believe it will last long though. im expecting a screw job in 2 days on smackdown. daniel deserves it, but the wwe only ever lets him job. if he loses as champ in even one non title singles/tag team match i think i might have to say fuck the wwe im done. i was upset with how they did it though, big show should have lost, but beat the sh*t out of henry after the match, then daniel should have cashed in and made henry tap out.

I think the reason they had Big Show win first was to give both Henry and Big Show a rematch clause for Royal Rumble (if Henry is hurt, it at least gives Big Show a rematch clause for it).

If it were a triple threat match and Bryan were to beat both Big Show and Henry, would be a huge vote of confidence.

It's exciting, no doubt, but unfortunately, I would be SHOCKED if Bryan held this until Mania or was still involved in the title picture at that point.

I'm happy Daniel Bryan winning this title, but it raises questions for the creative team. Like for instance, if there is a heel and who is turning heel? Can't have two faces, especially Bryan gets the pop as he does and the lovable giant. Big Show cannot go heel this early, since he just came back, so it would not make sense for him to do that. Bryan can go heel, but I doubt that the WWE would do this. I also have the fear of how long Bryan would keep the title. This is Bryan's testing as a fail or success experiment for Bryan in the long run. When Mark Henry comes back from his injury, is he going to get the title back, if Bryan still holds it at this time. Cannot wait for what WWE has in store for Daniel Bryan.

THIS seems like a way just to get the World title off Henry due to the injury, i like this IF WWE gives their full trust in Bryan and let him actually hold this title UNTIL Wrestlemania where he loses it to................Wade Barrett, that would be a good main event match, but i like the move now.
