I am sure that most of the American posters watched the Thanksgiving day games yesterday, including the NFC North matchup between the Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers. During the game, Suh repeatedly bounced a Packer player's head on the turf (I have no problem with a little turf-washing, that isn't the focus of my complaint) and then afterward, attempted to stomp on him a few times (this is). Everyone who watched the game or saw the highlight on Sportscenter knows exactly what he did, and it's quite obvious that it was not only deliberate, but forceful. The guy was trying to hurt the Packer player. Then, Suh tried to claim that it was just football, that he didn't deserve to be ejected, that
Really? Really? you weren't trying to kick him? Maybe the first try, you could say you lost your balance...but the second kick was 100% deliberate. Look, Ndamukong. I love your intensity. I love your aggressiveness. I love the attitude that you have helped bring to the Lions defense. I am a lifelong Detroit Lions fan who has been previously defending your style of play. You aren't helping by making up complete bullshit excuses to explain you didn't do something that was caught on video plain as day. It was a cheap shot, a dirty play. If you had just manned up, said you let the emotions carry you away, that you lashed out in the heat of battle or something, fine. It would still be a cheap shot, but at least the explanation would be plausible. What you gave as an excuse for it though was patently ridiculous. If you can't come up with a better explanation than that, you would be better off just shutting the fuck up.
Ndamukong Suh said:My intentions were not to kick anybody, as I did not. (I was) removing myself, as you see, I'm walking away from the situation. And with that I apologize to my teammates, and my fans and my coaches for putting myself to be in position to be misinterpreted and taken out of the game.
