NBA Offseason

It's always a problem when players are allowed to have too much power. If they weren't spending so much money on Tristan Thompson and JR Smith(something Lebron wanted), they'd have more flexibility to improve the team this summer....something Lebron also wants.

The fan reaction if Lebron leaves again and leaves Cleveland a mess will be interesting. He delievered them their first championship, which they should always be grateful for. But he might also leave a mess behind.

Talking to yourself is a bad sign. Mental health is important. Go talk to a professional about these things you are doing.

Interesting, maybe. But certainly not as bad as last time. Championship or not, he won't be stupid or arrogant enough to pull "the decision" again.

Sooo Lebron is a bad teammate because Irving wants to be #1? That's ridiculous.

Really, that's what you took away?

Lebron won't committ long term, basically holding everyone else hostage and making them pawns in HIS quest to "add to his legacy". His little passive aggressive, cutesy, wink wink I might go to LA shit obviously ain't flying with Kyrie and how can you blame him?

It might be the straw that broke the camels back, but reports are saying this has been brewing for awhile now. The ironic thing is if James leaves, Irving would be #1 in Cleveland. If another year is too long to wait, that's on him. He's not doing Cleveland any favors either though.

LeBron is going to be a billionaire while most professional athletes end up broke.

Kyrie would do well to keep the relationship with LeBron. Only good things will come of it. Ask James Jones.

Kyrie ain't James Jones. He's on a hall of fame path himself. I'm sure he'll do just fine financially and will continue to play well. As far as winning, that depends on where he ends up. Being stuck in Cleveland after Lebron leaves isn't the most attractive option, and he's not some minimum salary scrub that can just follow Lebron around.

Kyrie has an overflated sense of self worth. He's a great player no doubt but he buys into his own hype

Maybe, but at the same time it's probably that belief in himself that allows him to shine when the lights are brightest at times too. The guy hit the game winning shot in game 7 of the finals.

I'm not sure he's a great player to build a team around. He doesn't defend well, and he's really not that good of a passer, he's had some injury problems already and with his style of play he may get more. He's actually perfect as a number two to Lebron where he can just do what he does best.....get buckets. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Because Kyrie has proven to be a successful leader and first option without LeBron.

What happened to Kyrie's Cavs before LeBron turned up? What is the Cavs record since the return of LeBron when he doesn't play thereby making Kyrie the first option?

What does that have to do with anything I said? I literally just said that I don't think he's a good guy to build a team around.

Though the trash Cavs when Kyrie was ages 19-21 aren't proof of anything. He was young and had no help.

I have no idea why you brought up James Jones or broke athletes in reference to Kyrie.

People love to use the Kyrie was young excuse but what's the record when LeBron sits out and Kyrie plays in Cleveland during their time together? The past 3 years what has Kyrie done without LeBron leading the way?

LeBron joined a Cavs team with a record of 17-65 straight out of high school and immediately made them better the following year with a record of 35–47. LeBron took them from tied for the worst record to finishing 9th, just outside the playoffs. Kyrie joined a team at 19-63 and only gave them two extra wins for a 21-45 finish and still being far away from the playoffs.

Kyrie is buying into his own hype way too much. Kyrie has the chance to play shotgun for the greatest player ever and one of the smartest players both on and off the court. Yet, he's going to let his own ego get in the way of being around LeBron. What an idiot. Make a bunch of money but guess what, dudes lose it faster than they make it. You've got a direct line to a guy who has not only put himself in position to be a billionaire but has lifted up his friends along with him, putting them in position where they are really successful.

Kyrie leaving is so dumb. He doesn't see the value in LeBron. If I offered you all a spot to work with the greatest in your profession and that same guy is brilliant with his businesses, to the point where he will be a billionaire, why on earth would you refuse that? I don't get it. Kyrie seems like he'd rather do less but be number one than do more and be number two.

He has worked his ass off to get to the NBA. It takes a crazy amount of skill and commitment, for anyone. Now that he's there he believes he's good enough to lead a team. It's really not that far fetched for him to want to see how he can handle a team by himself, rather than coast along. Frankly, I find it sad if people can't see it. They're too accustomed to players taking the easy way out and just building super teams, because screw earning victories through hard work. The saddest thing about KD going to GS wasn't the whole super team thing for me (though it's a shame). It's that before he showed up, they were built to take down anyone, done mostly through the draft. No one had ran off there to play with someone great and take the easy way out.

Also, we don't know the full story. If Irving and James don't get along, isn't one's happiness worth something? Aside from eventually picking GS, KD didn't get much flack for wanting out of OKC. It was well documented the issues him and Westbrook had. While no Lebron James, Westbrook is quite the talent.

What I took away was people saying Irving is leaving because, A. Lebron may leave, and B. Irving wants to be #1. If Lebron leaves, Irving is the guy. Again, it doesn't make any sense.

My man, I swear you must've had this argument with others and you're projecting that into this because you're not really responding to NOTHING that I'm saying. LOLSMH. I mean......you're even talking about rookie Bron. Why? Who was comparing Kyrie and Bron?

What I took away was people saying Irving is leaving because, A. Lebron may leave, and B. Irving wants to be #1. If Lebron leaves, Irving is the guy. Again, it doesn't make any sense.

If Lebron leaves, Irving is the guy on a garbage team that's left over. If he's going to be the guy, he's trying to control his own destiny and find a better situation.

We've seen how Kyrie handles a team by himself.

It's not very good.

Yeah man, Alonzo Gee in that corner. Samardo Samuels, young Dion Waiters. How could he NOT have led that team to greatness?!

What's the record over the last 3 years since LeBron has been back when LeBron sits out and Kyrie plays?

I bring up rookie LeBron since you've said Kyrie was young and therefore unable to lead a team. LeBron did just that, at a younger age and got further than Kyrie. An argument you seem to be using again with this part and not answering the question I've asked like 5 times now. Is Kyrie still young? What's the excuse for the horrible record the Cavs have with Kyrie as the first option over the last 3 years?

I mean.....I'm repeating myself now because you're just going off with your own agenda or something. Here goes again...

1. Like I said, I don't think Kyrie is a good choice to build a team around.
2. His 19-21 years with a trash roster aren't proof of it though. This is the NBA. You can find numerous examples of really good talents losing like crazy on bad teams when they were young. Kids don't typically lead teams to anything in this league.
3. Who was comparing Lebron and Kyrie, and especially Lebron and Kyrie as kids in this league? What does that have to do with anything? Has anybody said or even hinted at Kyrie being better than Lebron?

And to answer your 5 times question more thoroughly and expand on that a bit.....we do know that the Cavs are extremely top heavy so obviously if Lebron is hurt or on vacation in South Florida or something, they're playing way shorthanded. This team is built around Lebron, for Lebron.

Kyrie going elsewhere where he is the guy, with a team built around him, would look quite a bit different. And I already said I don't think he's a great choice to build around and why. Have to see where he goes, if he goes though.

Then what's the point of him leaving?

Which gets us back to the correct conclusion that Kyrie is making a super dumb decision blinded by his ego. He should be thankful that LeBron came to Cleveland again.

Like I said....not being held hostage to Lebron's passive aggressive hinting whims for a year before likely being left behind in a garbage organization, with a garbage team left in the ruins of Bron bouncing again. He's trying to get out in front and find a better situation before all that BS happens again.

Should he just pack it in for the rest of his career while holding onto the memories of Dear Bronnie because they won two years ago?

And hell, are we forgetting that they already tried trading him just a few weeks ago? That they fired the GM? That organization is a train wreck waiting to happen.

If Kyrie goes to New York the team will probably become KPs and then if he goes to the wolves it'll be built around KAT. Boston and Miami would be the only destinations were he'd be THE star. Miami dont have the pieces to get a trade done and I dont think Boston would make the trade when all they need to give up would be IT, Crowder and the nets pick
