Naomi, face of the Diva's Division???

I know there are people who read the title and said, "Is he crazy?" AJ right now is the main heel of the division and she fits very well in the role. The only other divas that get exposure are The Bellas, but they are heels also. Why not make Naomi the main babyface of the division.

With limited airtime other than dancing with Cameron & Tons of Funk, she's more over than the other faces. She has a move set that is really good and can carry a match. I've her watched ever since FCW and I think she can evolve into a great character. I do think they need to change the "ghetto girl" lingo/gimmick, that only makes her look like a joke. The "E" should also change her ring gear a little and break her away from her crew. I really believe she's ready to break out. IMO she's better than Katilyn, and more marketable than Nataylia( though I like her a lot, but they've overlooked her for so long). What do you guy think of Naomi being the baby face of the Divas's Division?

I'm for her being given a shot at it. My biggest concern is that she's not a very good talker. She's a hell of an athlete though, and she's certainly attractive enough. She and AJ have great chemistry in the ring, which would make their feud that much better. Their match from NXT Season 3 was one of the best Diva's matches in recent history:



It seems as if most every Diva with an ounce of potential gets a run with the butterfly belt, so there's no reason to not let Naomi have a go. If she catches on good, if not, oh well. AJ is clearly the centerpiece of the division anyway. She'll needs rivals though, and now since Kaitlyn has fallen by the wayside, Naomi should be the next up.

Naomi is hot, first and foremost. With that out of the way, I think Naomi is the perfect face for AJ Lee's heel. One thing that blow's Naomi away from the rest of the divas is her athletic ability. Naomi is very fluid and smooth in her moveset and actually very entertaining to watch. Of course she isn't going to win a match by submission but Naomi is the diva that can provide some energy into the divas division matches. Kaitlyn was super boring and I didn't think she was that good as champion. Looking quickly at the roster in the divas division in both NXT and Main roster I could see 1 maybe 2 divas that could give Naomi a solid performance. That is Natalya and maybe possibly Paige. But like Dr. said above me, Naomi's major weakness is her ability to speak. If Naomi catches on and improves on the mic and continues to progress in the ring then yes, Naomi will have the tools needed to suceed to be the top diva in the company.

Naomi is great in the ring, as far divas go. She'll need to separate herself from Tons of Funk and Cameron nothing big just different clothes or whatever.

... That or maybe a divas tag title lol

Big part of the division? Sure. But face of the division? Not sure about that.

As you said AJ's the heel of the division, so nobody is going to take over that spot for a while as AJ won't drop the title for a while. But I don't see Naomi being the face of the division because right now it looks like WWE are pretty sure they want Kaitlyn to be the face of the division. That being said, it doesn't mean Naomi shouldn't be pushed on her own. She should and she probably will. She seems to be a pretty decent athlete and can put on a decent match, so her being a big part of the division wouldn't hurt the division and would make more contenders for the title.

I've heard of far worse suggestions or scenarios. When you take into account the overall state of women's wrestling in WWE for the past....well...ever, the idea of someone like Naomi becoming the "face" of the Divas isn't whacky. Naomi is young, fresh and extremely athletic inside the ring. In a lot of ways, when I watch her in the ring, she sort of puts me in mind of a female Kofi Kingston. She has a lot of energy, she works at a fast pace and she has the kind of athletic ability necessary to go with the style she's got. For instance, when's the last time you saw a woman in WWE springboard off the top rope? To the best of my knowledge, I can't recall ever seeing a woman in WWE do it. I don't mean to imply that it's some sort of superhuman feat for a woman to pull off, but it's something not seen very often by many fans and standing out among the crowd & being noticed is majorly important.

That's not to say that Naomi doesn't need work, which I'd say she probably does. I'd be willing to wager that she probably needs promo work. I can't say for certain as I don't think I've ever really seen her cut a promo. I'm pretty sure I've never seen her cut a promo on live television in front of 10,000+ people. Being able to interact with fans as a character is essential to getting over because if enough fans don't care, then it doesn't matter how good you look or how athletic you are.

As far as her being the "face" of the Divas, it's possible but I think it depends on some things. One of those things, I believe, is whether or not Paige is brought up to the main roster and, if so, then when. Paige has gotten high praise in NXT, and rightfully so, for the work she's doing. Jim Ross accidentally drew the ire of a good number of fans via Twitter when he said, in his opinion, that Paige wasn't ready. He made it clear that it wasn't because of what she brings to the table, as he's heaped praise upon praise on her time and time again, but because of the fact that she's only 20 years old. Paige comes from a wrestling family and she first began training & competing in her family's company in England in 2005. JR simply feels that 20 year olds don't have the level of maturity to be on the main roster or feels that said 20 year old would have to be an extremely special case. Maybe she'd be that exception to the rule. If so, then I think she has a strong chance of being the "face" of the WWE Divas. If you're not able to see NXT as much as you like, or at all, but you've read the results of tapings posted online so....without giving away any spoilers, let's just say that she's doing EXTREMELY well in the tournament to crown the first NXT Women's Champion. Triple H obviously sees the potential in her and if she makes it to the main roster anytime in the next little bit, then Naomi will be extremely hard pressed to be higher on the ladder unless Naomi is some sort of wrestling savant who can make the crowds eat out of the palm of her hand night after night.

I don't think Naomi could be the face of the divas division. She could get a title shot. She needs to be built more to be considered the face of the division in my opinion
