Name me something more abysmal than this years Diva battle royal

that has occured at WM. I defy you. Lets run down the laundry list of reasons that this thing was such a ghastly car wreck...

1. The Kid rock concert had everyone pissed off already.

2. Trish and Lita werent even in it. Wow, really, and all time diva battle royal without he two best divas ever? really?

3. What old divas they DID get, DIDNT EVEN GET RECOGNIZED. what the FUCK wwe?? Ok, I guess we would rather focus on the current divas...

4. except for that a comedy jobber in drag won the match, and took ALL the spotlight away from the girls with the subsequent post match celebration.

Im sure there were many other levels that this totally bombed on. Nothing in WM history couldve possibly topped how bad this was, or how badly they botched what was to be the intent. Maybe in the attitude era. I dont know, I dont remember much of it, I was taking a lot of drugs and drinking a lot of alchohol back in those days.

Please, explain to me what was worse than this debacle in WM history. The Kid Rock/Diva concert rumble was the worst WM segment in history.

IT was ridiculous. Didn`t see Torrie or Sunny.....like you said, no Trish and Lita. It was boring and uninteresting. I understand Trish didn`t want part of this ...her presence would have been pointless and totally forgettable. Santina was funny but this whole thing was pointless.

Hmm, well I've only seen a handful of WM's in my lifetime but I really can't think of anything that was as bad as this terrible segment. It was quite awful. It could have been so much more (well, maybe not so much more, but at least more), but instead we get a pile of crap that was overshadowed by the Kid Rock concert, which might have actually been worse than the match itself... hmm, maybe not... well, they both sucked. I thought they were going to use this match to solidify one of the WWE divas (whether it be one from the past or the present) as Ms. Wrestlemania, on par to HBK's moniker of Mr. Wrestlemania. It could have been a mega push, and it definitely could have MADE a diva. But instead, the segment (along with the opportunity) was forever wasted. It was just terrible.

On a semi-related note, I can name something worse than the Diva's Battle Royal that is bad due to some of the same reasons (even though it has nothing to do with Wrestlemania)... and that thing would be.........

TNA. The entire company and product. It just sucks- it sucks even worse than the battle royal (at least the battle royal was only a few minutes long- a TNA broadcast is 2 hours long!). And they (meaning the diva battle royal and TNA) both suck for pretty much the same few reasons: Both are confusing as hell, the lack of structure make them hard to watch, they are terrible wastes of talent, lots of missed opportunities are involved in each, and generally no one cares about either of them. See? Same reasons, except TNA is an entire promotion, thus meaning its weighted heavier than a single WM match. So, if we can't find ANYTHING worse than the WM25 diva battle royal, we can at least be eased by the fact that an entire company is worse than that single match.

Eugh it was actually horrible. Diva's should be kept off of Wrestlemania. You can call me sexist for that if you want, I don't care, actually I'll laugh. They are horrible - all of them. For the most part, Wrestlemania is the climax of the wrestling year, with feuds that have been organised and planned for months, some in great ways, such as Orton/HHH and HBK/Undertaker. And then, in the middle of all that, we have a few slags in no clothes come and 'wrestle' - there's really no point at all. They just throw diva's on the show when it makes no sense, just so they're there.

Kid Rock's concert in the middle of the damn PPV. I hate Kid Rock sooooo bad. I would have given anything for Kozlov to have came out, confronted Kid Rock, and then headbutt his goofy ass into an oblivion. GOD HE SUCKS!

At least the Divas look good. Kid Rock looks like an inbred meth addict. An RKO would have been sweet, too.

This was downright wretched, and will hopefully be left off any future WrestleMania DVDs, as well as any WWE DVD, ever.


This segment had me literally ready to change the channels, and never go back. I was willing to miss everything that came after it, if I didn't have to see Santino/Santina, Kid Rock, and a slew of shitty wrestlers, ever again.

I ain't seen it. But I doubt very much it's the most abysmal match of all time, if to name one is the gist of the thread. I doubt it's even the worst female battle royal of all time. It's probably just as bad as the last one. Difference being Santino probably added some heat to it.

You can't expect good matches when it's one on one with two talentless workers. You certainly can't expect a good one when you've got twenty plus.

I can think of plenty of matches where there have been two brilliant workers and they go out and have a crap match at Mania. Bret Hart & Shawm Michaels being an example. At least the Diva's battle Royal was probably brief.

Its true that the battle royal was pretty damn bad. It might not be as bad but in my opinion the 'sumo match' between Big Show and that old sumo Akebono at WM21 was pretty shit and pointless aswell

Also, it didnt even accomplish what was presnted to be the goal. HBK Vs Hart did that, AND put the belt on HBK, so he could have his title run that didnt draw beans. Melina Vs Ashley was far shorter thasn this. Plus, Ashley has huge tits. True, some of the girls in this thing did too, but being that it was a battle royal, it was a wide shot the vast majority of the match. Dont forget, im including the Kid Rock concert. He neither has big tits, nor was the preformance kept short. No heat, 5 songs. 5 songs jake.

I still don't think women should be allowed to wrestle. They're really terrible at it. I know I probably wouldn't be much good in the ring, but hey, I'm not getting in one.

For as much stick as black people get for their failed opportunity ("Time to Push Black", as I affectionately call it), women have been shit at wrestling throughout history. How they're still around is beyond me.

Gimmick battle royal was campy and hilarious

Hogan over Yoko was a fantastic moment. I marked out hard as a child when that happened.

It wasn't worse, but definitely in the "Just as bad” category when Trish faced Christy Hemme at Wrestlemania 21 and when Melina faced Ashley at Wrestlemania 23. Both were fucking horrible. In fact, thinking about it, I would have to say Trish vs. Mickey James has been the only good Divas match to ever take place at WM (the Diva’s match at WM 19 wasn't bad, but nothing to brag about either; Trish did look really good that night with the camel toe and all though), and I'd consider that one (Trish vs. Mickey) a true classic, probably ranks right up there with Trish vs. Lita from the Raw where they main evented as the greatest Women's match in WWE history.

Also, The Ultimate Warrior vs. Hercules at Wrestlemania 4 and The Red Rooster vs. Bobby Heenan Wreslemaina 5... both were truly horrendous and served zero purpose.

I'd probably say that Big Show v Akebono was worse than the WM25 Diva match.

See, in my section at ringside, the majority of people were either laughing at Santino or whistling/calling to Victoria. Santino didn't get any heat, he was in fact the only reason to maintain focus on what was going on in the ring for the comedic value.

It was a mass clusterfuck though.

They didn't even announce the names of the participants, so few people even knew who was in it. I think the past Divas that came back were Torrie Wilson, Sunny, Jackie Gayda, Molly Holly and Victoria and that was it, i do believe. (I'd have said Gail Kim as well, but she's officially part of the roster again so she doesn't count). So out of 25 Divas, only 5 of them were Divas from the past. Where was Ivory or Luna? Or Terri Runnels or the Kat? Granted none of them would have really added anything to the match, but i think people would have preferred to have seen a few more faces from the past than not notice that the Bellas and Katie Lea were even eliminated, or struggle to even remember who Eve or Alicia are.

Secondly the idiots didn't even wait for the match to be introduced. Justin Roberts obviously wasn't going to talk over Kid Rock, and then as soon as the amps were switched off, the nails started swiping. Smoothe girls, smoothe.

When i got back home i watched the repeat on Sky B.O. and the commentary was atrocious. Girls were being eliminated and they didn't even acknowledge it half the time. I think the only elimination before the final 6 that was acknowledged was when JR said, 'look, there's Molly Holly, one of my all time favourite Divas.' and that was it. I thought they were supposed to help a match get over, not sit there and wait for it to finish like the live audience and insult the television audience's intelligence by 'not recognising' Santino in a wig and and skirt.

Finally, i have no appreciation for a Battle Royal where you don't have to be thrown over THE TOP ROPE to be eliminated.

It wasn't so much that the match was terrible. It was more to do with the fact that the 2 matches that preceeded it were so good, and the crowd had literally used what little energy they had left following Taker/HBK, during the triple threat, that they were spent by the time HHH/Orton started.

Plus the fact that we don't need to see this match ever again. Those two have run out of creativity together. Hitting their finishers in the first 5 minutes killed it. Once HHH hit the Pedigree, we asked ourselves 'what the fuck are they going to do now?'. Once it became evident that they were just going to do what they always do, interest faded in seconds. Fans at the other end were doing Mexican waves and cheering at nothing, and in section D, we were all too intrigued with this drunk dude who had pissed us all off during the Hardy's, and we were just laughing at his vain attempts to get us all to chant for HHH, and then we defended him to the cops 5 minutes before the end. I had to watch the replay to see how Orton went from getting the sledgehammer from under the ring, to being hit with yet another Pedigree and losing.

1) Any angle with Kane in it. 2) WWE buring Santino and Zigler when their gimmics could have taken off(Santino could still work) 3) TNA's whole show is terrible. 4) The fact that a heel can't win clean anymore. 5) How they don't consider Jericho a major champ. 6) Knox, Regal, Cryme Tyme, & Kozlov all suck. 7) Too many shows and too many ppv's. 8) Angles that don't elevate anyone or seem to be going anywhere. The list could go on. A better question is what are people excited about today and how could WWE get more people watching?

100% right. Absolute joke by the WWE. It not only further ruined the sad excuse for a divas wrestling division my friends and I didn't even know who was in the match. No one getting introduced was bad and what was the point of even having it. It took away time from putting the tag team match on the card. The Kid Rock concert was awful. My friends and I were all pissed. It was a waste and a crowd killer. Terrible job by WWE. What an absolute joke

Lol- shouldn't we be more supportive of women's wrestling? Truth is that the Diva's Battle Royal was painful. Terrible. And I couldn't agree more that this match was thrown on the card just to say that the girls were there. I don't know if I would go so far as to say that Divas should never make an appearance at Wrestlemania. I have no problem watch Melina, Beth Phoenix or Gail Kim because they can actually wrestle. I just don't understand why the WWE feels they need to force a women's match on such a grand stage unless there is reason for it. Melina v. Beth Phoenix for the women's title would've gone over alot better and made much more sense. Not to mention it probably would've been an actually wrestling match.

I think that the diva match and kid rock was just a massive train wreck. It also affected some of the other matches as well. As someone posted earlier it was so long and took it took to much time so the tag titles ended up not being televised. Also this affected the hardys match. The Hardy match only got 13 minute time limit. The diva battle royal and kid rock must have taken up over 20 minutes that could've gone into the other 2 matches. Simply put, THE DIVA BATTLE ROYAL AND ****** KID ROCK WAS THE WORST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED ON A WRESTLEMANIA STAGE.

Honestly what were you expecting? You should be happy Trish nor Lita wasnt in it..they'd be so ashamed of the crap they call wrestling today..those two are pioneers and legends in this businss ,even though they dont have the age to be considered a legend!

As for Kid Rock, well...again not surpised, I was never a big fan of Takers "American badass theme" except in the beginning before he says "I am american badass" lol

wrestlemania was overall terrible. plain and simple. but as soon as i saw kid rock, skipped all the way to the divas battle royal. than as soon as i saw santino in there, i along with the rest of the world knew what was going on and i just skipped the whole damn thing. what a waste.
