My Plan for Mark Henry

911 JP

Love the sig!
I have been thinking of superstars that WWE have had little-no use for in the present time. Mark Henry came to mind. Then when i was playing SVR GM Mode i though well because The Miz is now Mr Money in the bank he doesnt need to hold the US title.
Now what if Mark Henry switched back to his monster type heel persona and won the US title of the Miz in say a 6 man battle royal on Raw.
Then he could be the monster champ and hold the title for anywhere around 6-9 months, beating every challanger. He could have great matches defending the title in battle royals, handi cap matches against teams such as the heart dynasty and etc.
Then he could lose the title on a big stage such as the Elimination Chamber against an up and coming superstar that needs to be put over, then the winner of the title can walk out at wrestlemania in the Mitb ladder match as the new Us Champ and a very over superstar. This could also set up a great match for extreme rules where it is a winner takes all match for the US title and the Mitb brief case, but that doesnt have to happen, just another thought.
This idea was inspired by the JBL longest WWE champion in Smackdown history era where he finally lost it to John Cena and put him over.

Your thoughts on this idea?

WWE plans to unify the US and Intercontinental titles so i don't see this to be the case. If they are going to unify the titles it's going to be over the next couple of months

Mark Henry is done. His best work was in the Attitude era, when he actually had a personality, was funny, and his eyes were visible. He also looked like the World's Strongest Man back then. Now he can barely move and has lost too many matches to count to even be considered for a title run. He's one of the gentlest big men in the ring, and this does not play well to his powerful physique and persona. But the WWE loves throwing their championships around so hell, give him a title.

My plan for him would be simple. Bodyguard for Ted Jr. It makes sense. It would get him over very well, Mark could draw some heat.

It benefits both parties, because Ted Jr. could just say. I always wanted to be better then my father, so I got double, no wait... Triple The Virgil. Then Mark comes out, and when someone gets in Ted's Face. Smack, here comes big bad Mark Henry making his money.

Something much better then the US title.

Mark Henry isn't going to do anything at this point in his career other than work as a main-event jobber, a role he's perfectly suited for. He's crap on the mike, and he doesn't have the fitness to work a match longer than 5 minutes, so he's out as a champion unless it's as part of a tag-team. Seriously, I don't understand why everyone on the WWE roster must be getting some kind of major push to be useful. Henry is getting in where he fits in right now, which is as a relatively over big-man jobber.

No way, Mark Henry is to put it lightly shit, his best days (and I use the term loosely) are well behind him. Why would you give the title to a past his prime superstar that no one could give a shit about when you have such a great pool of young talent who are about ten times more deserving of the title than him.

Na,there is no point to put a title on him..he had his fair share of titles back in the day...now it just wouldn't be good...WWE wouldn't put the mid card title on a vet..theyneed them for the young stars...Mark Henry can do nothing more right now tbh, what he is doing now is what he will be doing til he retires...a baby face monster and a job for the main event wrestlers! He is made too weak sometimes...

Mark Henry had the "unstoppable force" push as ECW champion. But shining shit up doesn't change anything, it's still shit.

If you told me 10 years ago, Mark Henry would still be around I would have called you damned, dirty, diseased liar. Save the fact that the E needs black wrestlers to be present, he would have been wished best in his future endeavors along time ago.

Mark Henry is what he is, he is a tool to get over Heavyweights on TV.- He's a good employee who as far as i know, has never gotten in trouble or been in any controversy. He gets a push every 4 years which is deserved because of his time/attitude/loyalty.

But other than that, there is no point in spending time building him up like you suggested. Cuddle's suggestion to have him as a bodyguard is far more realistic and credible.

Being Virgil v.2 can give Mark Henry storylines for the next year or 2. He can accompany both Ted and Marayse for their matches. Perhaps a reluctancy to join Ted. Conflict for working for Ted. Heel turn when he finally accepts his role. Conflict with Marayse. Build up to turning against Ted. Then his eventual face turn... perferrably not with Roddy Piper teaching Henry how to spell his name. H.E.!! N.R.Y!

At this point a title wouldn't help M. Henry at all. This is a guy who went from NOT tapping out of the crippler Crossface to losing a match by a damn clothesline to Skip Chipfield. WTF. I say Crossface because, in 2006 Henry was in the middle of a huge push, i mean huge, he was at his nation of domination weight around 340 or so and was in a fued at the time with Chris Benoit, Henry had been built up all that year as a monster heel, he ran in after one of Benoit's matches a few days before the Bash, attacked Benoit for a while and then Benoit somehow rebounded and got Henry in the Crossface, i believe Henry wouldn't tap and then boom Henry can't compete because of an injured shoulder. He was in one of the main matches at the bash that year so wwe had to make adjustments due to the unfortunate injury. He was out for months. Once he comes back Henry had ballooned to 400lbs. Man that dude was going to win the title, but after that last sec injury and his weight gain by the way which he never lost to this day, he's been a jobber. Man how one thing can derail your career. He needs to change his music, because he's the one always getting his ass kicked.

I agree with the person who said have him as Dibiase's bodyguard. Ted would then have Marsye on the one side and Henry on the other I mean he would have beuty and the beast. Mark should be a bodyguard for someone not trying to capture any title, Mark isn't in the same league as the younger guys so there's no chance of him having the title instead of the younger guys so the best he can do is be a bodyguard.

The 'bodyguard of Ted' idea is excellent....I don't think there is anything else possible with Mark Henry.......he is past his prime and most certainly not in any condition to hold any title......he better be used to put younger talent over.

He could have great matches defending the title in battle royals, handi cap matches against teams such as the heart dynasty and etc.

Biggest flaw with your idea. Mark Henry can't put on great matches. Even great workers can't carry him. Just look at his feud with the Undertaker several years ago. He was pushed hard and was given a great gimmick and put in an exciting high profile feud. He destroyed the Undertaker several times and even faced him at WM22. But fucked it up because he is shit in the ring and uninteresting for long periods of time. If Undertaker can't carry him what makes you think the Miz or the Hart Dynasty can.

Mark Henry lost it a long time ago. Correction, Henry never had it.
Henry isn't anything special, and he really doesn't deserve such a push. Plus, he already has something to do: job (and that isn't a bad thing, someone needs to do it.) Plus, Henry is good at it. He's big and even though he's absoulte complete and utter shit, his size makes it so that when someone defeates him, it's notable. That's a good jobber right there.
The mosnter heel thing...he's done it before, and so have so many other supersars. It's not interesting and it's not new, and if WWE found a way to make it interesting and new, Henry would kill it.
Henry's fine where he is, no change is needed. Oh, but maybe a change of wrestling attire, once i saw his penis pressed up against that red thing he wears, and it was highly unpleasent.

Mark henry does not have what it takes to be a successful singles wrestler. WWE should never have disbanded the team of henry and mvp (look at his current role on smackdown). I like the idea of putting him with Dibiase, that makes perfect sense. The only thing with that is that he wouldnt have too many actual matches in that role. I think the best idea for Henry is to put him back in the tag team title hunt. In my opinion, the best tag team partner for him on the current raw roster is Evan Bourne. Henry and Bourne would be a dynamic tag team that has both speed and power to their advantage and together could put on some good matches. This can also help get Boune more over with the fans as they will probably be faces and could potentially have a pretty lengthy run with the tag belts.
