My 30 things to do before 30 (Ideas needed)

Hollywood Naitch

The current reigning and defending
Right, so I will be reaching the grand old age of 29 years old on 3rd January, and I want to make my 30th year one to remember, so I've taken the idea that one of my friends had and have been putting together a list of 30 things to do before I turn 30.

I haven't yet finalised the list, but this is what I have come up with so far:

1. See 30 bands/musicians I like in 1 year
2. Watch matches in 5 football stadiums I've never been to.
3. Climb a mountain
4. Run a 10k race
5. Visit 3 countries I have never been to
6. See a Wonder of the World
7. Take part in Charity/Volunteer work several times
8. Do a day trip abroad to a foreign football match (e.g El Classico or Milan derby)
9. Organise a reunion with my friends from university
10. Organise a reunion with my old football team
11. Get back into good shape now I've recovered from shoulder & hand surgery
12. Do a train pub crawl with friends (a beer at a pub at each stop on a long journey)
13. Attend the midnight premiere of a new movie
14. Ride a jet ski
15. Get banned by a celebrity on Twitter
16. Do the "dentists chair"
17. Once a month provide a meal for a homeless person
18. Visit a strip club
19. Ride the "London Eye"
20. Get in a wrestling ring
21. Watch and England match at Wembley
22. Learn to cook a Sunday Roast Dinner
22. Convert my spare room into a home gym

I was going to put "Go to WrestleMania" on the list, but I think I'm going to try and do that for my 30th birthday the year after with 3 friends, so I took that off. Also, I'd have put "Get a new job as a Product Manager" on it too, but I achieved this a couple of months ago.

Some of the picks may seem unimportant/silly but they are all just things I've wanted to do, and never got round to/been unable to do so I'm going to try and cram as much into the next year as I can.

For the 3 countries I've never been to, I'm likely going to do a couple of weekend breaks (I'm thinking somewhere in Italy and Amsterdam), then a summer holiday which will take in a wonder of the world. Hopefully, I can combine the jet-ski ride with that trip, and perhaps one of the football stadiums with one of the weekend breaks.

As for the "getting in the wrestling ring", I literally mean just being in a ring. I don't mean having a match. All I want to do is to walk down a ramp, get in the ring, bounce off the ropes and pose on the turnbuckles. A bit childish I know, but it's something I'll never do again so why not?! Fuck it. There are a few local UK promotions near where I live, so I'm going to contact the promoter and ask if I can do that after one of their shows, before the ring is taken down and get a mate to take a photograph.

I've already been working on which bands I want to see, and have booked alot of gigs already. This is who I am definitely seeing so far:

1. The Stone Roses
2. Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds
3. Super Furry Animals
4. James
5. Alias Kid
6. The Libertines
7. Reverand & The Makers
8. Blossoms
9. Theory of a Deadman

I'm also planning to get tickets to see the following:

10. Monster Magnet
11. Dan Reed Network
12. Tyketto
13. Three Days Grace
14. Peter Hook & The Light

Plus, I'll probably have to do a festival too, which is likely to be Download so I see a lot more bands then.

If anyone has more good ideas to help me fill out the list, that would be awesome.

If you haven’t already done so, and money isn’t an issue, go buy yourself a Championship Title Belt. After all, you are on a Professional Sports Wrestling Entertainment forum.

At the moment, I'm looking at the list of ideas I have and I think they are all things I can do, but the cost may prove to be an issue, with holidays, gig and sports tickets etc all adding up.

I need to try and make the remaining 8 things I choose cheap to do while still being fun and challenging.

Number 15 is remarkably easy. I've done it several times without even attempting to. Hulk Hogan has me blocked and I don't even know why.

Haha, I've never even tried. It's just literally calling them a cunt until they block you I'm guessing. There's a few "celebs" I really dislike, so I have my targets. Most wouldn't mean anything to US folk, just shitty UK Z-Listers.

Have you had a threesome?? That seems like a goal.

On the less sleazy side learn an instrument

Wow, congratulations on the ambition. Sounds like it'll be incredible. But really, you've gotten to 29 without going to a strip club? I'm not a huge fan but we do that constantly where I'm from.

Been in one strip club ever. For about 5 mins. Hated it.

Went in once, spent £100. Not good.

Jerk off twelve times in a day, just to see if you can. Very shortly that will be an insurmountable challenge.

Haha I know, I'm surprised I haven't tbh. Every time my mates end up going to one, it always happens on a night I'm not out. I'll get that one ticked off in the next few weeks, my birthday is 3rd Jan so I'll get the lads out then to hit a strip club.

A friend and I went to a strip club once. I'd ran out of money so he paid for half my lapdance. I felt cheated at the end of it. I'd put it down to where I live though. Haven't gone to a strip club anywhere else.

I've been to 2 different strip clubs, in 2 vastly different areas, with vastly different experiences. The fancy one, to me, seemed a little dirtier, because the dancers were used to a much richer clientele, who would be willing to pay whatever absurd price they were asking for "VIP service".

The one closer to my house, was much more relaxed and chill, because the dancers were mostly everyday woman (still very attractive) just working a job. They were very laid back and it was easy to get comfortable and just have a good time.

There aren't any in the town where I live, I'll probably go to one of the ones in Manchester. Considering there's one built into one of the train stations, and I must have walked past there 100+ times after getting the train to the city centre, I'm amazed I haven't been in.

One of two things will happen when you do go in. You'll either look around and immediately realize it is not the place for you, and that's why you never walked in, or you'll be instantly captivated.

I haven't met anyone whose experience has been anywhere in between. at least not yet.
