Hollywood Naitch
The current reigning and defending
Right, so I will be reaching the grand old age of 29 years old on 3rd January, and I want to make my 30th year one to remember, so I've taken the idea that one of my friends had and have been putting together a list of 30 things to do before I turn 30.
I haven't yet finalised the list, but this is what I have come up with so far:
1. See 30 bands/musicians I like in 1 year
2. Watch matches in 5 football stadiums I've never been to.
3. Climb a mountain
4. Run a 10k race
5. Visit 3 countries I have never been to
6. See a Wonder of the World
7. Take part in Charity/Volunteer work several times
8. Do a day trip abroad to a foreign football match (e.g El Classico or Milan derby)
9. Organise a reunion with my friends from university
10. Organise a reunion with my old football team
11. Get back into good shape now I've recovered from shoulder & hand surgery
12. Do a train pub crawl with friends (a beer at a pub at each stop on a long journey)
13. Attend the midnight premiere of a new movie
14. Ride a jet ski
15. Get banned by a celebrity on Twitter
16. Do the "dentists chair"
17. Once a month provide a meal for a homeless person
18. Visit a strip club
19. Ride the "London Eye"
20. Get in a wrestling ring
21. Watch and England match at Wembley
22. Learn to cook a Sunday Roast Dinner
22. Convert my spare room into a home gym
I was going to put "Go to WrestleMania" on the list, but I think I'm going to try and do that for my 30th birthday the year after with 3 friends, so I took that off. Also, I'd have put "Get a new job as a Product Manager" on it too, but I achieved this a couple of months ago.
Some of the picks may seem unimportant/silly but they are all just things I've wanted to do, and never got round to/been unable to do so I'm going to try and cram as much into the next year as I can.
For the 3 countries I've never been to, I'm likely going to do a couple of weekend breaks (I'm thinking somewhere in Italy and Amsterdam), then a summer holiday which will take in a wonder of the world. Hopefully, I can combine the jet-ski ride with that trip, and perhaps one of the football stadiums with one of the weekend breaks.
As for the "getting in the wrestling ring", I literally mean just being in a ring. I don't mean having a match. All I want to do is to walk down a ramp, get in the ring, bounce off the ropes and pose on the turnbuckles. A bit childish I know, but it's something I'll never do again so why not?! Fuck it. There are a few local UK promotions near where I live, so I'm going to contact the promoter and ask if I can do that after one of their shows, before the ring is taken down and get a mate to take a photograph.
I've already been working on which bands I want to see, and have booked alot of gigs already. This is who I am definitely seeing so far:
1. The Stone Roses
2. Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds
3. Super Furry Animals
4. James
5. Alias Kid
6. The Libertines
7. Reverand & The Makers
8. Blossoms
9. Theory of a Deadman
I'm also planning to get tickets to see the following:
10. Monster Magnet
11. Dan Reed Network
12. Tyketto
13. Three Days Grace
14. Peter Hook & The Light
Plus, I'll probably have to do a festival too, which is likely to be Download so I see a lot more bands then.
If anyone has more good ideas to help me fill out the list, that would be awesome.
