Who was your favorite character? Who was your least favorite? What about favorite stage? Favorite game in the series?
Scorpion was always my favorite. I started using him in the first game, because his finisher was the easiest (Forward Forward Block!). Then, I started to pick up all of his other moves (the wrap-around punch, the spear) and started to mow down much older kids for time at the arcade. As the games grew, Scorpion grew, and his importance to the series grew. He became a fan favorite, and his moves became more and more extreme. I've used him in every game leading to Armageddon, and made sure he was the man I used when beating it. He was also pretty sweet in the movies, even in his death scene.
As far as least favorite, I'll go with Johnny Cage. He was useless. If anyone knows the full story to Mortal Kombat, he did practically nothing. He was a pretty big failure in the movies as well, except for tricking Goro. His moves were pretty lame (except the ball punch), and his finisher was the most ******ed in the first game. He was OK in the first one, largely due to the small roster. When the 2nd one added some new people, he should've became obscure. No reason for him at all.
My favorite stage is The Pit. It was a rather small board, and lacked the 3D that future stages had, but being able to knock your opponent onto a pit of spikes after beating them made it the best. So was being able to fight Reptile if you got it just right.
Armageddon is by far my favorite game, mostly due to the complete roster being available, and the mystery of the franchise's future at the end. The Konquest mode is easily the best, and the fighting styles and weapons are excellent.
I know I didn't ask, but my favorite "boss" is Drahmin. He can be a challenge to fight, and to use, but if you work with him enough, and get his moves down, you can beat anyone...Except Scorpion...
