More Bourne?

Universal Pictures has made an overall deal with the estate of "The Bourne Identity" author Robert Ludlum that gives the studio exclusive rights to the Jason Bourne character and first look at other Ludlum novels.

The deal with Ludlum Entertainment paves the way for more installments in the Bourne saga, which was originally envisioned as a three-picture series but has become Universal's answer to James Bond.

After the first three films grossed a total of more than $1 billion worldwide, U signed Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass for a fourth film that George Nolfi is penning. Produced by Frank Marshall and Ludlum Entertainment chairman-CEO Jeffrey Weiner, the film will be readied for a summer 2010 release.

Even though during the press for "The Bourne Ultimatum" it was repeatedly said by Matt Damon that that was the last film of the series, you knew after you watched the film that there was a big chance of a number four coming out simply because of the hints of a past relationship between Bourne and Juila Styles' character.

Personally, I'm excited. I know some will say that there's no need for a forth one and that this has the potential to ruin the legacy of the first three, but fuck it... that's a risk I feel should be taken when it comes to this film series. In my opinion, each film has been better then the predecessor in this series and I think that could continue, especially since Damon and co. resigned to continue doing it. Also, once again to me personally, these films have by far been the best action films since the eighties (not including comic movies), so it continuing only makes for more great films for a genre that is basically dead without Jason Bourne.

I would love to see another Bourne movie, they have all been absolutely fantastic. I read one of the books that wasn't a Ludlum novel, and it would make a great movie. All of the Bourne movies have magnificent and a sequel wouldn't hurt the franchise one bit, in my opinion. Matt Damon has been consistently great in the role and I am confident he will continue down that road. As long as the crew sticks to the same formula, I have no doubt the movie will end with very positive results.

We NEED another Bourne movie. Each movie has been better than the last. The Bourne Ultimatum just blew me away. I personally prefer the Bourne movies to the Bond movies. Also the last one really gave hints about a fourth and there is definite things that can make the plot so interesting. We are given hints at Damon and Stiles' having some past relationship which i think can go a long way into the plot. I hear she is signed on for the fourth one too. I cant wait.

I would love to see a fourth Bourne movie. It won't ruin the legacy of the first 3, just like Rocky V didn't ruin the legacy of the first four.

The movie would be great, and it wouldn't matter if they followed the story from the end of the fourth, or told a prequel to the first one. And, if it does lack in movie quality, we'll all still see it, because we live in a society where we just can't help but want to know more of the story.

That being said...I would only see a fourth if the cast returned (i.e. Julia Stiles, Matt Damon, etc.)
