Anyone going to get the video game? I fucking DESPERATELY want one of these games to be worth a flying fuck. Just as with real life but to an easier degree, if done right, they could properly align real sports competition and thrill with the showmanship and fun of wrestling.

The trial on EA Access comes out on Thursday, so I'm gonna give it a go. They said they revamped career mode, now it is supposed to include more than just train and fight, get title, fight again. You are supposed to be able to hold interviews and press conferences and stuff to give your fighter a personality that will impact his standing and drawing power. With Connor on the cover, I'm not surprised. Hopefully it adds some depth.

My issue with the games is that it is an MMA game, but most guys just want to punch and kick when they play. I can't say I completely blame them, as the grappling and submission controls have always left a lot to be desired.

Give it the old wait and see. If the career mode is as good as it looks then I'll pick it up. Surprised they havent included a story mode considering they had one in fight night champion which was good and have had one in the last two fifas and the latest madden too

From Instagram of one, Nate Diaz. It's coming, folks. I said to keep your eyes open for movement within a few weeks and we have it. McGregor vs. Diaz 3 is absolutely going to happen for the title. This is why Tony/Khabib isn't confirmed for the undisputed title and is this weird "next question" shit that Dana pulled at the press conference when asked about McGregor being stripped.

I'm far more concerned with the latter. I could give a shit about cut scenes with me "showing personality" I just want a badass fun to play fighting game.

Considering they own Pride and Strikeforce, I've always thought they have underutilized those properties in the video games. Obviously they want to make UFC the top place in the video game but I'd love to be able to jump between the three, winning titles across the board. Doing the Pride tournaments in UFC 3 back in the day was the best part of career mode.

Oh yeah, I loved just stomping dudes in the face. I lost track of how many times poor Bob Sapp got knocked out by that.

The good news is that the reviews I have read thus far say the revamped striking is much better and while some of the ground transitions still feel choreographed, that the game feels much smoother and much more natural. Also Snoop Dogg is a special announcer in certain game modes.

Usually I’d agree. If Jones could’ve just beat his ass, which there was no question on that happening, then fuck DC forever but since Cormier got fucked on I’ve developed a soft spot for him.
