MLB All-Star Game LD

Justin Verlander > You
The best all-star game in sports is on tonight, here's the starting lineups:

NL: 1. Carlos Gonzalez DH
2. Melky Cabrera CF
3. Ryan Braun LF
4. Joey Votto 1B
5. Carlos Beltran RF
6. Buster Posey C
7. Pablo Sandoval 3B
8. Dan Uggla 2B
9. Rafael Furcal SS
P - Matt Cain

AL: 1. Derek Jeter SS
2. Robinson Cano 2B
3. Josh Hamilton LF
4. Jose Bautista RF
5. Prince Fielder 1B
6. Adrian Beltre 3B
7. David Ortiz DH
8. Mike Napoli C
9. Curtis Granderson CF
P - Justin Verlander

Should be a good game to watch. I know people hate that it counts for HFA, but I'd rather they do that than people not give a shit like in the Pro Bowl.

I don't mind it counting for HFA, I'd just rather they let the managers set their own lineups. Fans can still vote people in, but the fact that Sandoval and Posey are starting and Wright and Ruiz are not is a mockery.

Leave it to Jeter to show the young guys how to do it for the AL.... Bautista misplays a ball in the OF turning the double into a triple, and Jeter is the only AL guy to get a hit, and he legged out an infield single.

Would be nice to see some runs by the AL to make this game competitive. It'd be nice for the Tigers to have HFA in the World Series... :suspic:

Yes, truly, his infield hit off the glove of a mediocre third baseman is truly a hitting clinic.

There's been about five balls in play tonight that would have gone for extra bases or gone out in a less pitcher friendly ballpark.

Yeah, actually his infield hit by beating out the shortstop who got the ball without a hint of trouble and threw it as soon as he caught it was more impressive then anything the AL had done at the time (hell it's still up there).

The ball glanced off Sandovals glove right to the shortstop who threw it right away without a bobble of any sorts. Yeah, it was a perfectly clean infield hit.

So who you guys think will be MVP? My guess is Melky. Definitely one of the 3 Giants that made an impact (Panda, Melky, Cain).
