This is kind of it. Edge isn't some stupid nobody who doesn't know what he's doing.

Bottom line, we are talking about a guy who isnt even in the top 25 going over someone who is in the top 3. Edge couldn't fucking lace Misawa's boots. At what point do things become uneven enough to make it so someone is fucking stupid for voting for a person? It has fuck all to do with him being Japanese.

Probably not, but these threads only emerge, and people only get that 'flamey' and defensive when it's a Japanese wrestler losing to someone not Japanese. See: Shawn and Kobashi and now Edge and Misawa.

Yeah I voted for Shawn because Shawn has had a ton of classics. Meltzer has some big grudge against WWE and traidtionally American wrestling in general it seems so I put very little stock into the star system. People were talking about Shawn like he was a jobber or something. Edge doesn't have that many classics to his name. He's had some great ones, but few classics. Shawn has a TON.

Why not just fix the poll so Misawa can win? I mean, seriously its not like we haven't had at least 3-4 of these threads (now, one started by an Admin, no less) pleading people to give their votes to a man that apparently everyone should already know is better.

We have a couple people running around, acting upset and rightfully so to a degree. (Hey, if you're passionate about the guy you're backing - you have a right to be upset, but not down right childish) We have endless threads whenever a guy (seemingly Japanese) is losing. We have people calling other people cheaters for asking for votes against Japanese Wrestlers, yet I'm honestly sure we've seen more threads started calling people names, stupid, and begging for votes FOR Japanese wrestlers.

So.. how has no one just flat-out fixed, altered and changed the votes to give Misawa his 100% rightful cheap victory yet?

Again - NOT trying to say he wouldn't/shouldn't win to begin with. Irish had what looked to be a decent argument. Tdigs has decent arguments. Xfear will call you a bunch of names, and maybe translated in Japanese it becomes a decent argument. But when it comes right down to it.. Misawa is not winning because people believe he should. He's winning because people have posted enough repeat threads begging for votes, that enough people finally gave in. And that, to me, is hilarious.

Anyone realise the match IS a gimmick match that Edge is competing in? That should give an indication as to WHY people are actually voting for the man, if all of his classical matches and wins were from gimmick matches.

Standard rules contest, Edge cannot win. This is something completely different.

Edge being a top current guy has EVERYTHING to do with him getting votes. But that is kinda the point, is it not? Again - I never recalled in the rules that you had to vote strictly for someone who was once great, as opposed to someone who is currently hot. I don't recall being told to vote strictly for one guy over another because through the majority's mind - it'd be considered stupid.

But can you sit there, stand there, or what ever you do when you type on WZ.. and tell me that Misawa just saw an increase in votes after how many days of trailing by 4-8 votes at a time, that it wasn't largely in part due to 3-4 different "please, oh please vote for my favorite japanese guy" threads?

Hey.. I'm not trying to bad mouth the threads. Win how you can, and thats the bottom line. I did it with Edge a year ago, and fuck all if I'm not still proud of that. But I just find it amusing how blind Misawa marks can be, to think this victory isn't because of these threads and instead because some random flood of Japanese fan base came flooding into the forums.

I'm defending the choices of those who voted Edge, I didn't say I voted for him. My post and vote in the Misawa/Edge match-up proves this.

I like to look at both sides weakness/strengths before I compare the two. I tell you, I had to think about who to vote for though.

I was planning on waiting till the last minute, then rewriting a couple of the posts people made against O'Connor to apply to Japanese wrestlers, then voting Edge just to appease my own bitterness about the round one decision.

Yeah; did occur to me that that was a pretty stupid and petulant thing to do, so I think I'll drop it any just vote for the Japanese guy.

Irish managed to make a compelling argument without spouting off stupid shit like "Misawa is to smart to get hit in the face with a chair", "Edge's spear can't beat people" or "everyone who doesn't vote Misawa is a racist"... so I guess you can credit my conversion to him.
