Mike Knox in the Elimination Chamber

Slyfox696

Excellence of Execution
The bastards at the WWE falsely advertised John Cena for their house show this afternoon in Cape Girardeau, which is where I live. I bought my ticket weeks ago, thinking I'd get some Cena goodness. Damn bait and switch.

But, I guess in order to make it up to us, they gave us a fairly important match. It was a 6 man over the top battle royal, with the winner going in the Elimination Chamber.

After a horrid match, Mike Knox wound up eliminating Shad of Cryme Tyme for the right to be in the Elimination Chamber. I must say that I was impressed with Knox. He has a very tough guy image about him in real life, and the man is enormous.

All in all, the show was average. I think the TNA house show that happened back in October was more enjoyable. The one good thing about today's house show is I finally made up for a house show I missed back in 1996. I wanted SO BADLY to go to the house show, because Shawn Michaels was the WWF champion, and I loved HBK. And I've never forgotten the fact my parents wouldn't take me. But, today, I at least got to see HBK wrestle a match at a house show. So, that was good.

Anyways, Mike Knox is in the Elimination Chamber. Thoughts?

Just makes me scratch my head. That makes it Cena, Kofi, Knox, Jericho and Rey so far. That's a pretty weak match if there's ever been one. There needs to be a huge shock as the 6th to make it work for me. Maybe a brand jump.

According to WZ's main page, Knox has qualified for the Chamber at a house show.

As far as it happening at a house show, it has to be for the same reason as the tag titles changing at a house show a few weeks back. It makes house shows seem important, and makes people want to go, so they don't miss anything.

As far as him in the Chamber, it can't be for any other reason than to further the feud with Rey. They probably didn't want the payoff match until at least Wrestlemania, so they put them in a match with a few other guys, and test Knox in the main event, the same way they're testing Kofi.

Jericho will probably be the first guy eliminated, to add to his already huge heel status. Rey will probably get eliminated by Knox, and Knox will then be eliminated by either Cena or Kofi, because he'd be the only heel left. This adds to Kodfi being in the Chamber, just like Kendrick in the Scramble. It'll make him seem credible, and push him into the lower main event level.

Of course Cena wins, but it's nice to see different people in the main event.

Knox fills the role of the power big man. You need to have one of those in matches such as this.

As far as the last spot, it'll have to be a heel, I would think. Maybe JBL will find a way in.

I just started a thread on this in the RAW section...Can it be moved or merged?

1. Well I guess we know who is taking every finisher going in the Raw chamber now

2. I'm actually really surprised, has the WWE actually followed up on it's, let's give Rey a beating scenario? Seriously, they push Mysterio as a genuine threat to the title, but then when he takes a good kicking, the person responsible stagnates, Kane, being the most recent one.

I genuinely think the Raw chamber might be an interesting match up, we have a power guy in there now, so the balance is now infinitely better than Smackdowns

6 needs to be a mystery have one pod spray painted black and have the mystery participant already in the pod. Then at the 6th spot Evan BOurne walks out that would get a huge pop. im being announced would be fairly weak bu thim as a surprise would be freakin' awesome

Sure, I'll move your post. Hold on.

Thanks. I tried to start it, but it said I need to wait 60 seconds between starting new threads, and to wait 190 seconds. It took a few clicks to get it started, and then I saw this :(

It's no problem. I wasn't upset about it, and had no plans for a warning or infraction.

In fact, the only reason I made the thread myself was because I was actually at the show, so I could give a little perspective on it.

I figured it would have to be HBK/JBL, Rhodes/DiBiase, Miz/Morrison, or Knox/?

Still have no clue who that other option could be. To balance it out, they should have a heel, as they already have Cena, Kingston, and Mysterio. I can't see it being JBL or HBK now, as they should have a match themselves. Rhodes and DiBiase will probably just walk to the ring with Orton unless they have some sort of 6-man tag (like Orton/Rhodes/DiBiase against Shane/Kane/Goldust?). Miz and Morrison are probably just going to be screwed out of it.

What doesn't fit though is the roster that's left. Kane, Regal, and Punk lost their qualification matches, so unless they have a sort of "all the losers fight each other for the last spot" thing, then who really is there left? Its surely not going to be Charlie Haas, Manu, Snuka, Dolph Ziggler, Duggan, Noble, or Santino....so really, they have no options other than to pick Punk/Regal/Kane.

My guess is Knox eliminates Kingston, Mysterio eliminates Knox, Jericho eliminates Mysterio, Cena eliminates Jericho.

Why are they wasting a spot on him? I mean no matter what the push they have given him as of late, he has pretty much jobbed to everybody else who will be in it. Waste of space I tell ya.

to further the feud with Rey.

Not sure what the point is. I mean how many times can you run the same storyline with Rey Mysterio where some big guy is obsessed with him to no end? What next? They resign Viscera and have him chase Rey around wanting to sodomize him? It's getting pretty old and Mike Knox isn't even serious enough to not have to wear tights. I mean he looks like Jesus, if Jesus spent every Sunday out in the parking lots of the Cleveland Brown's stadium tailgating.

Sly, was this the same house show where (according to WZ's Main Page), they refunded the money because Cena wasn't there? Or did they keep your money?

They said that Cena wasn't going to be there (despite them advertising for weeks that he would be), but that if we wanted to a refund, we'd have to do it before the start of the second match.

So, it was pretty much bullshit. I almost went and demanded a refund, and then try to stay in the show, but I doubt I could have.

Yeah, I guess the only reason he was put in the Elimination chamber match is to keep the feud with Rey going. He has less of a chance at winning this match then Kofi, who is going in with no chance at all of winning. I guess this means Knox still has a chance at a push on RAW and isn't gonna be completely like Snitsky. Nonetheless waste of a spot.

And now we learn that entrant #6 is Kane. This is one weak ass EC, although it's probably not as bad as SD's last year, but still. You've got stale Rey and Kane, new and underdeveloped Kofi, Knox's first BIG PPV match as well, accompanying Jericho and Cena who we've all seen in the ME spots for the last 7 months and 3 months repsectively.

I don't think either Knox or Rey need to be in there tbh. They'd be better off having JBL and HBK in there, working together to get JBL the title and failing, rather than 6 loosely connected guys in one title match.
