Mickie James can beat Trish Stratus' record

Future Diva, Womans and Divas champ
Ok so we all know that Trish Stratus is the record setting 7-time womans champion.

So do you think Mickie James could beat her record she already has 5 title regins if you count the divas title reign, and she doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. She is my favorite diva in the WWE today and I think she can do it. What do you guys think. If you don't think she can tell me who you think can beat her record or if you think her record will never be beaten.

Yeah, I'm sure she can. She only needs 2 more title reigns and she's set. I'm not even sure if Trish Stratus' record is nearly as secure as it is cut out to be, actually. If anyone in the WWE can beat it, it's Mickie James. However, you can also add Melina, Michelle McCool, and Beth Phoenix into the mix, if you want. Maybe Natalya in the future. I just wished that WWE didn't have Lita's 1st and 2nd title reign so far apart, so she had to retire, just as a 4-time Women's Champion, when she clearly could have won more.

I know Lita was awesome and she deserved to be the 7-time WWE Womans champion not Trish. I don't think Michelle can beat the record she has been there 4 years and she has only won two championships. The average span of a diva career is 7 years, but Melina could do it maybe but not as likley as Mickie.

Mickie definitely has the potential to beat the record. The question is, will WWE actually let her? They're so high on Trish, that I doubt they'll ever consider giving any current diva on the roster seven womens titles in their career. However, Mickie is better at literally everything Trish Stratus did, the only difference is that Trish got pushed more times in her career than Mickie has. However, I'd go out and say that Mickie is, and has been more over than Trish with the fans. Lets not forget she's a better wrestler, a better seller, has more charisma, can work the mic better, she's even got the in-ring psychology worked to perfection, why not reward her for her hard work? She's never had a break since joining the company, she's never been injured seriously, and unlike most of the divas, she came into the company actually knowing how to wrestle, where as Trish took years to actually look decent in the ring. All that being said, the only way I can see her beating the record is if they count the divas title win with her other four reigns. But even then, I believe her third title win was a complete accident at a house show, she's lucky it was counted, although the least they could do is release the footage for that match. So if Mickie does indeed beat the record, I wouldn't be surprised to see many people questioning the legitimacy of it. Either way, I really can't think of a more deserving women right now to beat the record than Mickie James.

pretty much, I agree... I am a Trish stratus fan, but mickie is on a much better advantage. Fans like her more, she is still wrestling, (I dont see why Trish retired so early, she has done sooo little in that time. If she went on, she may still be wrestling, just like fabulous mmoolah's record, could have never been broken)... Trish ended with 7 titles, Mickie has 5, and is getting hyped for the next title with michelle... The whole "Piggy james thing" was kinda rough, and Michelle is gonna deserve what's coming. a 6th title for mickie!!!! Maybe after that, her and Natalya feud over it. (Everybody has been claiming Natalya to be a future womens champ, why not now???)

Yeah I am sure she can. 2 title reigns is not really a lot considering that she is only in her..what early thirties? Correct me if I am wrong. I feel that as a previous poster said, the WWE are so high on Trish they may not do that, but if you count the divas title, that would mean she can only have 1-2 more title reigns in her whole WWE career form now on. But I don't think we can count the Divas title to be honest, because Trish holds the record for Woman's titles. But she has 4 of them in 3 years, so the law of averages says she should reach it in the next 5 years.

But the question is, will she be here long enough to reach 7 or 8 title reigns?

Obviously with all the controversy surrounding her recently with her weight gain issues, one day she might just say, fuck this I'm off. She may just get sick of her treatment. But to be honest I think she is too much of a professional to do that. Or she could leave to be a country singer.

I relay have no idea in this world if WWE is going to let Mickie beat Trish's 7 time champion record. But I relay hope they do as I am a huge Mickie fan.

I do not agree now. To be a wrsetler at all is a preivelage. it takes alot of skill, and mickie has it. But the divas title, that still counts as a wwe title. So mickie officialy has 5 tiles. Maybe though, she can beat trish stratus's record in women's title.

Has anyone ever found out if that weight issue was true? Or it just an internet rumor that caught fire? Anyways, I can see Mickie James winning the title a few more times. Technically, it is easier these days for the women to chalk up title reigns, as there's twice as many belts now. Unfortunately, if Mickie wins, it really won't mean much for her. I guess she would get royalties since she will, or at least should be featured on all the PPVs. But, as far as merchandising, nobody can touch Trish. Cutouts, calendars, posters, t-shirts, etc. If you look at Mickie's right now, the only thing she has by herself is one poster. That's a shame. Her match with Trish at Mania 22 was better than most of the other stuff on the card. She can beat the title reign record, and I can see that happening, but what would than mean, other than an "Atta girl" and maybe a future hall of fame bid?

Mickie James MIGHT break Trish's record.... especially now that there is a second belt for the divas to win. The thing is though.... will they count a win for the Divas Championship as a Womens Championship win equally? They do that for the WWE and World Championship, but that doesn't mean they do it for the Divas and Womens titles. She only had the 1 title run with the Divas title though, so she might still break Trish's record. Honestly though, I don't want any diva to ever break Trish's record. Maybe Beth Phoenix but it'd take her a few years, not anyone else. Trish was the best diva ever and no one should break her Womens title reigns record in my opinion.

I think Mickie James CAN and WILL beat the 7 times record. I think she still has quite a few more years left in her WWE career at least, and I think title reign number 6 is coming very soon for her. Not only does this women deserve that recognition, but she truely earns that respect too. She can really really wrestle in the ring, she has excellent mic skills, and plays her role so well. Not to mention she is OBVIOUSLY the most popular female in the WWE today and has been for at least the last few years or so. Mickie is my all time favorite diva, and ive been watchin the WWE for over ten years plus. This lady has got what it takes, and i am sure alot of her fans would love to see her break the record!!!

Mickie James does have the factors in her corner still such as age, ability and her high work ethics to have the strap placed on her for a couple of more runs, aligning her alongside Trish as a 7-time champion, possibly more than that. She has done a lot for the company and her recognition has not caught up with her as of yet. She still has the go in being the champion and holding that title for a while.

With that being said, there are many reasons why she shouldn't hold the title. What is left for Mickie to do with the company besides a feud with Michelle McCool and Natalya Neidhart... maybe even one with Gail Kim, but I doubt they'd attempt that again after the botched ending that happened last time they met. James has won the Women's Title on numerous occasions and made that title prestigious as past champions have done. She has solidified herself in the books as being apart of one of the most memorable women's matches in the history of the WWE. She has had a good run with the Diva's Title on RAW, elevating that title as her character is more suited for the Women's Title.

Mickie is a big enough spectacle for her to be featured as nearly as prominently as the male wrestlers are, so giving her the belt is only payback on the WWE's behalf to say thankyou for her efforts. Its best they keep the strap on someone like Michelle so they can build themselves up to be credible wrestlers for the future. Much like John Cena when he was without a championship, having someone solidify themselves who really need it the most. I'd like to see Mickie get her next two or more title reigns as women's champion in TNA as that is currently the place to be for mainstream women's wrestling where most of the potential contenders Mickie has never faced or only done so in the indies when she was still relatively new to the game. This would allow her to do her music career whilst still wrestling and finally shut up those ignorant bastards that think Mickie James is an overrated hack who only joined WWE as she knew she could be a big fish in a small pond. If she can wrestle with the likes of Ayako Hamada, Daffney and Awesome Kong and gain their respects (considering they are the veterans/backstage locker room leaders), then she can finally earn her spot into any wresting Hall Of Fame.

In summation, Mickie James can beat Trish's record... but some outside factors that cannot be controlled stand in her way like WWE protecting Trish's record, Mickie James going down different avenues due to lack of determination to wrestle, etc.

Personally for me I have never liked Trish I don't know why I just don't. I mean I respect her in-ring talent but why does everyone like her so much. I really hope that Vince lets Mickie beat the record. She has a bigger fan base and is still around. Does anyone think that Trish might come back if she thinks her record is in jeopardy of being broken?
