MD 65: Big Dave and Gordito vs. Barbosa and Ty Burna

Status
Not open for further replies.
*Barbosa is sitting on the ground backstage. However, it is again not clear who is in control as it is not the Depressive, the Smoker or the Manic. However, Barbosa is not the same calm, collected and thoughtful being that sat backstage at Unscripted. He is sweating profusely despite not having a match, suggesting that he has some kind of fight on his hands. It would seem to be the same voice but instead of an internal monologue, Barbosa is speaking aloud to no one in particular.*

Chaos Still Reigns.

Champions and challengers still jostle for position; new alliances being formed; illicit substances being found; interruptions are rife.

The Kingdom is evolving, changing, bleeding…

It needs someone to put things right. Someone to stand up for it.

It needs its King…

*With that pronouncement, Barbosa looks down at the floor to the position where the gold briefcase sat at Unscripted. It is not there now, stolen away by a masked muppet and his soooperstar boss…*

But what is a king without his crown? *cough* He is merely a pretender…

Manic: We like to pretend!

The Smoker: Not in this game of thrones we do not.

*Barbosa clears his throat, trying to retain the singularity of his monologue.*

The court is bare. Empty. Friendless.

The King’s Hand has deserted him, disappearing off into the distance like some real life Dr. Bann Brucer because he feared the power he was being offered. Such a disappointment.

Potential usurpers hide in plain sight, disrupting royal plans *cough cough*

The Smoker: Baez will rue the day he stuck his nose in our business again!

*cough cough*

*Barbosa's attempts to maintain control are interrupted by a passing competitor. It is Austin Reynolds, someone who has had contact with Barbosa before.*

Reynolds: Hey, Barbie. Congratulations on becoming King. Any thoughts on when you will cash in?

*Barbosa does not answer or give any inference that he has heard the Ratings Winner’s question, instead continuing to stare at the floor.*

Reynolds: Yeah, I would not be giving away my plans either. I see you have not managed to retrieve your briefcase yet. Looks like that cash in will not be tonight, eh?

*Talk of the missing briefcase gets Barbosa's attention as he looks up from the ground at Reynolds with a mixture of disdain, anger and somehow happiness. Needless to say, such a contorted visage unnerves the Ratings Winner somewhat and he moves on with a cursory goodbye.*

Reynolds: Well, good luck in getting it back and with when you decide to cash in. It is not an easy decision to make and the clock is ticking…

*Anger becomes more prominent in Barbosa’s face and it briefly looks like he is going to stalk after the departing Reynolds but something prevents him from doing so.*

The Smoker: If we are not going to deal with Reynolds’ insolence then we are going to confront the other root of our troubles…

*Titus is scene walking backstage. Suddenly a dark figure emerges from the side and corners Titus againt a wall. It is Barbosa.*

The Smoker: Titus... we were just looking for you.

Manic: Give us what is ours!

Depressive: What I meant to say was... let us be civil about this. You stole what is rightfully the property of ours and we would like it back.

Titus: I don't know what you're talking about. I didn't steal nothing from you.

The Smoker: Now Titus... we know you're behind this cause Baez stole it and he is your property.

Titus: No... Baez is a free man now.

Depressive: Do not waste any more of out time! We know you took it!

The Smoker: I mean... he was your property and as you can see our patience grows thin.

Titus: Okay... you got me. I don't want your KFAD contact though. You will get it back after Ascension tonight.

The Smoker: That's a wise idea Titus, but since we no longer have to break you with our hands we must ask, why did you have that rat Baez take it last Meltdown.

Titus: Look... there is a very big title match tonight between Ty Burna and Big Dave. Two guys who I have a lot of unfinished history with. And I want to be the one who gets in the ring with them next, perferably as champion. The last thing I want is for your deranged self to be mixed in to an already overcrowded title scene. Barbosa I want nothing to do with you, I just wanted to make sure either Ty or Dave was still champion after tonight. Are we clear? No beef?

The Smoker: Crystal clear. We promise.

*Titus fixes his shirt and walks away. Barbosa stops him and smiles a sick smile.*

The Smoker: Unless we don't get back our KFAD contract. Then my dear Titus, we promise to make sure you never get a chance to fight Ty, or Dave, or anyone ever again. We clear?

*Titus nods and walks off camera as Barbosa continues to smile sickly.

*A door can be heard opening in a dark room. A shuffling of feet can also be heard before the door closes although there is not enough light to identify the individual. A chair is pulled out from under a table and with a sigh of exasperation, someone sits down in it. However, when a voice breaks the quiet, it is recognisably Barbosa but unlike backstage at Ascension where he was fighting to maintain a semblance of monotone, the multiple personalities are clearly in control; the calm, composure of post-Unscripted gone completely.*

The Smoker: Why did we let him go with nothing more than a verbal warning? Surely a cracked rib or a broken nose would have sufficed? Or at least forced him to tell us where Baez was with our briefcase?

Depressive: We have no interest in Baez or Titus.

The Smoker: What? They have our briefcase! Come to think of it, we should have slugged Reynolds while we were at it.

Manic: Why? We like Reynolds!

The Smoker: No one calls us Barbie and gets away with it. Get the chess board out again. We think you are losing your strategic touch.

Manic: Hunt used to call us it all the time.

The Smoker: And look where that got him? Dead from a drug fuelled orgie or from a drive-by shooting or wherever he is.

Depressive: We have no want to get mired in a feud with Titus or Baez if we can help it. For too long we have been kept out of the world title picture by the likes of Everest, Titus, Baez and Gordito so for the time being we will choose to believe the moviestar when he says we will be given back our briefcase in due time. We have three other men to focus on.

The Smoker: Three? Why three? There is only one champion.

Depressive: Maybe but that champion has a scheduled challenger for All or Nothing.

The Smoker: Gordito. That Latino does not know how lucky he is: stealing a victory from us with outside help. Titus was the same…

Depressive: Gordito might get even luckier at the PPV and walk away as champion so if we must keep our eye on him.

The Smoker: But you said three. Big Dave and Gordito are only two. Are we suggesting that we must keep on eye on ourself?

Depressive: We are always keeping an eye on ourself but that is not who we mean.

The Smoker: Then who?

Depressive: Ty Burna.

The Smoker: What? That board game aficionado along with his brainwashed cretins and the Mary Magdalene of the new millennium? He has no claim to still be in our plans.

Depressive: If we think for one second that Ty Burna is ready to give up his chase to regain the title that he held for a year after just one rematch…

???: …then you are sorely mistaken.

*Barbosa jumps at the unexpected intrusion of another voice in the room.*

Manic: Who’s there?

???: Who else but that “board game aficionado… and his brainwashed cretins”?

*A light turns on on the far side of the room from where Barbosa is sitting. It reveals Ty Burna sitting in a chair with his hands steepled, Serafina standing by his side with both Apostles, James King and Chris K.O. statuesquely flanking the diabolical duo. Of the four, Serafina is the only one showing any discernible emotion with her arms folded, her foot tapping and her face contorted in outrage.*

Serafina: Mary Magdalene?!? How dare you!

The Smoker: How dare we? You have the nerve to say that to us when you sneak into our room?

Depressive: They did not sneak in.

The Smoker: What?

Depressive: We invited them.

The Smoker: We did?

*Serafina's outrage melts into something of a self-satisfied smirk as the Smoker sighs and shakes his head.*

The Smoker: Now we really want that chess game. Still, it does not negate our Mary Magdalene analogy.

Manic: What does Mary Had A Little Lamb Again mean?

*Now it is the Smoker's turn to smirk as he looks towards Serafina, almost as if he had wanted the Manic to ask for the explanation.*

The Smoker: It means that she is no more than the paramour of ill-repute of a false prophet who seeks to gain a position of lasting memory beyond his skills by manipulating the minds of the idiotic masses with cheap parlour tricks.

Manic: And what about the two others?

The Smoker: The Apostles? Lackies of immeasurable stupidity and mental malleability.

*Serafina looks fit to erupt but before she can launch her own verbal riposte, Ty Burna, who has so far taken the Barbosa tirade without blinking an eye, puts a hand on her arm, which prevents her from going any further. After returning his hands to their steeple, he then leans forward in his chair with a grin on his face.*

Ty: I am glad we got that out of the way early. We would not want such pent up emotions to interrupt and cloud our negotiations regarding Big Dave, Gordito, Meltdown 65 and most importantly, the World Heavyweight Championship…

The scene continues as Ty sits in front of manic Barbosa, his arms folded in his lap and a smirk playing across his face.

Ty: So Barbosa, why is it you still deride me despite the fact I am no longer World Heavyweight Champion? Do I unnerve you that much?

The two men, usually quick to not let a conversation grow dull, remain silent. They stare down one another for what seem like several minutes. King and K.O. shift a bit uncomfortably. Ty breaks from the gaze and looks up at his three charges and shakes his head.

A simple game of chess as you would say, right Barbosa?

Manic: You like chess?!?!?! You must be a worthy opponent what with the mind games and all! Let us challenge you, please let us challenge you.

The Smoker: Shut up you idiot. So Ty, apparently we invited you to this little powwow. What do you have to say for yourself?

I won't sugar coat it for you Barbosa. The Apostles and I are enraged over the travesty that happened on Ascension last week. Big Dave remains champion and will face Gordito at All or Nothing when I should be the one annihilating a man I once considered a mentee. Quite honestly Barbosa you and I are in the prime position here to strike down our enemies.

Depressive: We hate to disagree with you Ty but we are the ones sitting pretty, not you. You have nothing. No title nor an opportunity to gain it back. Why is it you smile as if you still control the game without even having a seat at the table?

Ty waves his hand and King reaches into a protective case, untwisting the cap and sliding out the ancient Ouija Scroll. He hands the scroll to Ty who unfurls it slowly in front of him. Barbosa takes a seat in front of him, his eyes wide in excitement. Ty gazes down at the Scroll as he ignores Barbosa for a few moments.

I do not need to be present in the discussion to control the outcome Barbosa. You should know that as well as anyone. You do recall before our match at All or Nothing how I tested you and Gordito both. You capitalized and claimed victory over him.

Which we shall do again if Gordito's lucky streak continues at All or Nothing.

Right, I don't really care who is World Champion after All or Nothing. What I do know is on Meltdown we have the right to crush our enemies Barbosa. Do you wish to take your loss last week lying down? Or are you more of a dog then I truly thought?

We are not a dog! We do not drool or play fetch.

Would you shut up? You are not helping our cause right now!

He is right. We don't even have a tail.

Ty watches amused as the three Barbosas argue amongst themselves. He slowly furls the Ouija back up and holds it in his hand. K.O. leans over and says something to Ty which he nods to him.

K.O.: If you wish to simply argue with yourself Barbosa, then I believe our time here is done.

What do you mean we could be descendents from monkeys? We do not care for bananas

It is as we have said, the evolution theory states...

Barbosa!

Barbosa slightly twitches and leans back into his chair, lighting a cigar and putting his feet up on the table. He exhales slowly as Ty rolls his eyes slightly annoyed.

Have you put the other voices in their corners?

It took some effort and shiny things to get them to cooperate but yes, we are of one voice right now.

Good, it's hard enough paying attention to one of you scatterbrain idiots.

Barbosa looks slightly incensed by the comment but waves it off as he goes back to chomping on his cigar.

So what else do you have to say other than insult us over and over again Burna? We need to get back our KFAD briefcase so we can become World Heavyweight Champion.

Ty stands and paces back and forth across the room, his hands behind his back along with the Ouija Scroll still firmly grasped in his hand.

I have nothing to gain through this match Barbosa. The only thing I have to gain is to inflict as much pain as I possibly can upon those that have wronged me. David has stolen my World Heavyweight Championship. I want it back, but I will bide my time until the moment is right to reclaim what is rightfully mine! Gordito was the one man I trusted until my associates joined my revolution. The very moment he returns he sides with Austin Reynolds and derides my every decision. I will not tolerate such insolence Barbosa!

Ty slams his fist on the table and immediately stares down Barbosa. Barbosa returns the favor as he stands up, tossing his cigar to the side.

For too long we have sat back and watched you parade as champion. We watched as you pandered to the people and made them believe in you as the one to represent them. We watched you toy with them Burna. Just as you will eventually abandon those two, what makes us believe you won't do the same at Meltdown?

Barbosa points towards King and K.O. who remain stoic in their positions. They stare at Gordito and almost in rhythm they speak.

We do not question our leader's motives.

King: We exist only to further the grip Chaos has over WZCW.

You are nothing more than an ingrate Barbosa.

Ty only wishes to solidify an agreement amongst you and him.

A mutually beneficial agreement.

Barbosa blinks at the responses, then shakes his head as another cigar is brought out and lit. He blows the smoke directly in Ty's face, yet Ty does not flinch.

We see you have taught them well. How many beatings and hypnosis sessions did that take for you to pull the sheet over their eyes Burna?

Not nearly as long as it did for the fear and panic to grow inside you Barbosa.

We are getting nowhere with this. Why don't you and your little cult go play with your board game in a graveyard while listening to emo music while we take care of Gordito and Big Dave?

Now why would I let you have all the fun Barbosa? Look. We are not in direct competition with one another. At least not yet. As your significant others have mentioned, I have no seat at the table anymore. I should be out of the equation, yet here I am. It would in your best interest to entertain my offer here Barbosa. David and Gordito will be fractured. They will not trust one another even though the enemies they face are far too dangerous to be the hero in this match. We have no need to fall into that trap Barbosa. We will be far more successful in our goals as a united front rather than divided. This is a lesson you should have learned in your time as Kravinoff's lackey. Or was he too busy harping himself up to be of any use to you?

Kravinoff was at least trustworthy. He was a man of his word.

Was he Barbosa? Truly? Or were you merely the attack dog that he used to get what he wanted the King For A Day contract you know have, or did have at the very least. I have no doubt in my mind the moment you helped him get his hands on the KFAD contract, you would have been taken out back and discarded, just as he done with his other partner Toyota. But I digress, that is a conversation for another time. The fact remains Barbosa, together as one cohesive unit can deliver the statement you wish to make, and the trauma I want to inflict upon them both. Now, will this jockeying end for this moment in time? I believe my brief partnerships have spoken for themselves, have they not?

Barbosa chomps on his cigar for a moment before inhaling deeply. He lets the smoke roll out of his moth before putting it out on top of the table. He glares at Ty for a moment before holding his hand out.

You have made your point Burna. We look forward to our one time partnership.

The two men shake hands, and take a step back from one another. Ty produces one of Barbosa's cigars and promptly lights it with a match. Barbosa looks on a bit perplexed.

How did you?

Ty smirks and sits back down and inhales a bit before exhaling slowly.

It is all sleight of hand is it not Barbosa? Serafina my dear, fetch us that bottle of cognac I have saved. A gentleman's agreement of this nature requires a drink of fine distillery wouldn't you agree?

Of course. Though we shall keep to just one drink. After our night at the Sludge Pit we don't believe we can properly handle our alcohol.

The two men laugh in unison as Serafina and the Apostles make their way out of the room. The camera zooms into Barbosa's head as the scene shifts back to the familiar poker room. Manic and Depressive sit at the table, flipping chips over back and forth.

We can too handle our alcohol! Let us out and we'll show him!

You will sit quietly. We agree being left out is no fun but clearly we have connected on some sort of level with Ty. If we are to gain any insight on our adversary and gain ground on Big Dave and Gordito, we will allow him this time to converse with Ty.

May we be an Apostle? We will deliver unto the nonbelievers a Chaos unseen before. Blah blah blah. We could easily be an Apostle like them.

We are already our own cult. Although we could get someone to do our dirty work.

We could have someone do our laundry! We don't want to drink any Kool-Aid though, right?

Maybe we should give you the Kool-Aid to test.

I like Kool-Aid!

The scene fades back out from Barbosa's head. Ty and Barbosa lift their glasses up. The two glasses tap together as the scene fades out.

We open to a smart phone being held in someone's hand. On the screen, we see an active call to voicemail. Big Dave can be seen in the reflection of the phone. The phone is on speaker.

Phone Voice: New Message...

Gordito: Hey, Dave. First of all, what a fight, baby! You've shown that you've earned that title around your waist, and I can't wait to try my mettle against the new Champion. You've got the people excited, man.

Secondly, I called because of our upcoming match at Meltdown. They aren't giving us any easy fights these days, and I'm glad for it. It'll keep us on our toes all the way until All or Nothing. So, yeah...we're teamed up against Ty and Barbosa, neither of whom is going to be quite happy with how things went for them last week.

Gordito's voice pauses for a moment.

Look Champ, we've got history. We've fought before, both against each other and at each other's backs. I don't want to say I trust you or act like we're best friends, but I do trust in your abilities and your strengths. I've won matches as part of team with you before, and I know we can do it again. You and I should be going into All or Nothing as the best of the best to give these people the explosive showing they deserve. So, one more time, you and I together. I'm looking forward to it, baby. Hit me up if you want to before Meltdown. I'm out in LA nowadays. Peace!

Phone Voice: End of message.

-----------------------On the other side of the world...--------------------

Gordito is trekking through brush and trees. Following a path winding up a hill, he's busy rocking out to his headphones and pushing branches out of his way. He's wearing some black track pants and a matching wifebeater shirt along with his signature tacky bugeye glasses and a backpack. He reaches for a his bottle of water, takes a long chug, and then returns it to the side pocket of the pack. After reaching the top of the the climb, he stops and looks out; from up here he can see from Santa Monica to El Segundo to even parts of Long Beach. The smog over the city becomes more noticeable, almost tangible. But the views over the sea become clear from this height. Gordito turns and drops his bag. He reaches into a pocket and pulls out a cigarette and lighter. As he lights up, we hear him think to himself.

Gordito: My god it's wonderful up here. I'm learning to love this city, but it's great to get out of the nonsense a bit and come up here.

He closes his eyes as he takes a drag, as is to become one with his surroundings. After a second of looking at peace, a small frown crawls onto his face. He opens his eyes.

Gordito: You can still hear the city, though. You can't escape it entirely. You can only trick yourself into thinking you're out for small periods of time. That's ok, though. It'll do for now.

Gordito stands up again, still smoking, and looks again over the city.

Gordito: Baez. Baez. Baez. Baez. I can't escape that entirely either, can I? That name. That brat. I thought Titus winning at Unscripted would mean less of the guy, but oh no, he just has to up and work his way into my business.

Gordito turns from his view and goes back to the bag to grab his water bottle again.

Gordito: He didn't even acknowledge me. Didn't even...

He takes a long slow drag from his cigarette.

Gordito: I'm not even mad at him for knocking me out of competition for a bit. I was actually kinda happy for him after a little bit. Here I was, hoping that maybe beating me had been enough, that he showed whoever he needed to that he could reach that level he wanted to be at. Now where is he? Doing someone else's bidding for his mouth writing checks his ass couldn't cash. Maybe he was told not to bother me. Maybe that was part of the plan.

Gordito shrugs.

Gordito: Well, a win is a win. Not my preferred way of doing it, but not unprecedented in the world of Wrestling. And certainly better than a loss so close to the big show. So now I've got Barbosa rightfully peeved about the non-sense involving Baez and his contract and having lost a match to me, and I've got Ty Burna, equally fumed about his recent luck and forming a posse of goons backstage to help him get his spot back. And I've got to deal with both of them at Meltdown.

Gordito takes another few drags in quick succession from his cigarette and then puts it out on the bottom of his shoe. He knows he shouldn't be smoking in an area like this, and comforts himself with knowing that at least he's safe about it and saves the butts in a trash bag in his back pack instead of littering out here. He sits down by his pack, drinking water.

Gordito: My chances partly lie in the hands of the WZCW Champion, Big Dave. He's my partner this week. He's beaten me before, but I don't think we have any beef between us. Actually, I know he and I have been a part of a team before, and we've won. Granted, it took Kurtesy to help set it up, but the chemistry is there and has been utilized in the past. I just hope he can see it that way too. I don't want him thinking I'm going to try and leave him in any kind of compromising position before All or Nothing.

Gordito stands, looking out over the city one more time, a determined look on his face.

Gordito: I want him there ready. I want him there as good as he can possibly be. I want the two of us to have the match that everyone will be talking about for long after. And for that, I need both he and I to get there in one piece. Ty, K.O., King...Barbosa...these are shark infested waters right now. These guys are going to want to tear us apart. I'll be damned if I'm going to give them that satisfaction.

Gordito packs up his stuff and begins the hike back down the path. Before disappearing into the bushes, he takes one last look back over the scene.

Gordito: I live in Los Angeles...I'm used to swimming with sharks now.

The blood has now dried all over his face, he feels like moulded clay thanks to the sweat. It’s a feeling like no other but it can’t take away the positive feeling that Big Dave is feeling right now; he’s overcome the task and finally removed the threat of Ty for now. One down, two to go. He’s now has to worry about Gordito at All or Nothing, but the question he is asking himself is, why didn’t Barbosa strike? He had the perfect opportunity, Ty took everything out of me and Barbosa wasn’t cunning enough to strike? Was it because the briefcase was stolen? That’s no excuse; everyone knows he’s the King. Dave hasn’t had a chance to see the show before as he was locked in isolation, preparing for the match. The blood is being cleaned off his face by the EMT, so he asks the question.

Guys, what happened with Barbosa and the briefcase?

What? You didn’t see the show?

No, I was preparing for the match.

Titus had Baez steal the briefcase to guarantee that you walk out of Ascension as the champion, well, the person who won tonight. Apparently he has eyes on the title.

Dave is now asking himself, why Titus? Why did he do that? Is he planning the time for his revenge for last year? But Dave knows that Titus can only get to him through three possible means, the roulette, earning a shot at the Lethal Lottery, or earning a victory over Dave. But Dave knows the latter can’t happen unless he’s put against Titus; that is something that Dave can control and prevent. He knows that Bateman and Myles will not let that happen as they have Gordito in wait at All or Nothing. The blood has been cleared enough so the EMT can treat the cut, the soldier is wounded but the war is far from over.

-----------------------

A few days later, Dave is clean, refreshed and ready to take on the world. He hasn’t given Titus a second thought but keeps his mind focused on the task at hand, get to All or Nothing. The stitching is slowly healing and the comfort that the recovery will be eased with a tag team match will make things easier on the way. He hears the phone ring and immediately heads to grab it, but misses the caller and hears the answer phone kick in. He recognises the voice instantly.

Hey, Dave.

There’s a pause.

Peace!

Gordito is his partner, and he’s facing Ty and Barbosa. Dave wants to question the situation as to why Ty is meddling with him for a third time around, Dave knew Ty wouldn’t give up with ease, but hoped that Myles would have given Dave some space from his rival and former champion. But worried isn’t covering the look on Dave’s face, but rather a gathered interest, he has two of the uncontrollable elements, the King for a Day and the persistent Master of Chaos. He knows that he can have the opportunity to make his life easier and get to All or Nothing now that Gordito is willing to aid him in battle. But a thought runs into his mind that he hasn’t considered. Titus must be brewing a year long grudge, just like I have been with Ty and he hasn’t seen that amended. But one grudge that Dave feels has outrun its course is the one he had with Gordito.

A year ago, Dave had dropped his EurAsian Championship to enter a Gold Rush Tournament, Gordito was his first opponent and victory was sealed. Then Chuck Myles banned Dave from challenging the World Heavyweight Championship for two months, two long months, and the man who came out of that tournament as the challenger was Gordito. Dave knows that he had long hated Gordito for stealing his opportunity when he felt nothing but hate and resentment towards anyone he considered less than him. But time has changed and so has Dave. He now has the championship he desired, he did one better than Gordito but he knows that this isn’t the point he’s thinking about. Gordito doesn’t know that Dave has gotten past this grudge and welcomes Gordito to be his opponent at All or Nothing. But Gordito needs assurance, he needs to trust that Dave won’t be making a grudge and see this as three targets. Gordito won’t threaten him, he knows he’s done enough to get his opportunity; he just needs to wait, as does Dave. The biggest problem is that Dave can’t get to meet Gordito until Meltdown as he has to promote the pay per view and do more interviews, his responsibilities have tripled since becoming champion and he can’t let his company down. He hits the redial button on the phone, it rings a couple of times but alas there’s no answer and Dave is now the one providing the answer message.

Hey Gordie, I just got your message. I would love to meet up with you before Meltdown, alas my schedule won’t allow some spare time to meet in person. But I want to get how I feel out now. Yeah, we did have history, we had some close encounters and naturally I did feel bitter when you got an opportunity I had considered to be mine. But I am truly behind it now, in fact, you showed me that opportunities are earned through merit and effort, you did that and came close. But it’s not the fact you came close, it’s the fact you never gave up is what I respect. You never gave up, even when the opportunity was out of reach, you got two title shots in succession and pushed Ty to his limits.

Now is the time to show him and Barbosa what we’re made of, you know you can beat them both, there’s nothing to hold you back. You’re damn right that we’re going to make All or Nothing one match to be talked about for a lifetime, and we get people talking when Meltdown rolls by, I want to hear the word spread that Gordito pinned Ty Burna, setting himself up as the greatest challenger to rise out of the ranks. Yes, I am challenging you to pin Ty, not because of hype but because you need it. All or Nothing is a time where I want you to give it your all and not hold back, and pinning Ty is what you need to be ready and willing to give it your all. You have never given up, but you need this victory more than anything, I want to see that fire burning in your eyes because I want to see what my challenger looks like, not a partner or a fight against evil, my challenger. Show me what lengths you will go to get the championship because Ty is that opportunity to see you unleash yourself. I have my own Achilles heel with Barbosa, I have yet to defeat him but with the knowledge of your willingness to defeat Ty, I know I can overcome Barbosa and make him less of a threat so there is nothing to stop us. We have our demons, our targets, we need to vanquish them if we are going to make our match the event to talk about.

Gordito, the man to yet hold a championship but has the full respect of the locker room, give it your all because I know what lengths I have to go through to win and defend my championship. Show me the passion that I use to know of being a challenger who is going to make his moment because your time is coming, and it’s time to make hell your own heaven. Barbosa is going down and so is Ty Burna, and I want to hear the people cheer you as the three count is made. I believe you can do it, now show me what you got! I’ll see you at Meltdown.

Dave hangs up and knows that he just got what he wanted out of Meltdown, it’s not the willingness to remove the competition, but rather getting the challenger he wants out of the man who deserves this opportunity. All or Nothing is waiting, but he knows that he is waiting to see Gordito deliver at Meltdown; he has never felt more excited than anything.
