'Matt Hardy debuts in TNA...'

What's the craic?
Should Matt 'Cross The Line', how would you like to see it happen - someone else posted this thread but got their dates mixed up for the 90 day no compete clause, so when I attempted to post the below scenario I found the thread removed. Having put some time on this, I decided to copy and paste in a new thread... what do y'all think of this idea, how would you amend or completely change if you were in charge of creative. C'mon folks, Russo bashing is a competitive sport these days - how would you do his job with the thread title as a starting point -

'Matt Hardy debuts in TNA...' alongside Gregory Helms at Against All Odds but NOT at the main event. I'd like to see them turn up at Beer Money's Match and cost them the match in a way that suggests that they are there to take on FOURtune and Immortal. During the main event with Anderson and Morgan, FOURtune hit the ring and batter the winner (Anderson) as Morgan lies outside the ring. Hardy and Helms hit the ring and clear it. The PPV ends with Anderson, Matt and Helms standing in the ring and then Jeff's music hits and he comes to the entrance ramp and the coverage ends with a stare down between Jeff and the inhabitants of the ring.

For the next while, a Matt versus Jeff physical confrontation is teased but never happens and Matt & Helms adopt the name Team OMEGA and get embroiled in a feud with Beer Money. After their inring debut at Destination X against Roode and Storm and subsequent victory, roll on the main event and outside interference from Immortal keeps the belt on Jeff. FOURtune come down to join in celebrations and then out come Team OMEGA to dampen the whole thing:gasp: Beer Money, AJ and Ric take front and centre and the Nature Boy grabs a stick and sounds them out until the fearless faces get into the ring. Why would they jump into such a lions den? The answer becomes quickly apparent as Kaz, Rob Terry and Immortal jump Beer Money, AJ and Ric and Team OMEGA join in. Next episode it's revealed that Jeff has tired of FOURtune's limelight hogging - he is the star and that he, Matt and Easy E devised the whole Team OMEGA/ Rob Terry & Kaz turn to show them who the bosses really are! After a subsequent save by FOURtune of an Immortal beatdown of Matt Morgan (facing Rob Terry), the Blueprint returns to their fold and the quintessential FOURtune is established.

From here - AJ will feud with Kaz and then Jeff, the Blueprint with Big Rob/ JJ/ Abyss & Beer Money with Team OMEGA/ Gunnar and Murphy.

Matt debuts to feud with... Beer Money? Sorry bro, but that's where it all falls apart for me. If TNA's willing to take a chance on Matt, then they'd better utilize his best asset (history with Jeff) and make sure those two are either allies or feuding from the beginning. I guarantee you that if Matt shows up and is involved in an angle with anyone other than Jeff there will be about a thousand different posts from the TNA bashers about how stupid and backward their creative team is.

i think a matt vs. jeff storyline would be great, the thing with helms i liked that but i just dont see him doing a heel character in TNA he needs something to start off with a bang matt vs. jeff feud for the title and maybe aj wins the tv title back and its helms vs. styles for the tv title something along those lines. but for this to work either anderson or morgan has to be on the sideline or theres going to be too many faces. yes keep one of them and keep him with matt and helms to take on immortal and fortune but his return needs to be a feud with his brother or at least a tag/stable run with jeff and helms have jeff disagree with bischoff or hogan or both and have them turn on them and u have the hardys and helms (maybe moore) take on fortune and abyss, bischoff, hogan, jarrett and all of them. but the returns got to be big!:2ar15smilie::wwf::wcw::robvandam:

TNA has tried to cover all of its shortcomings by hiring on everybody who someone might recognize from someone else's promotion.

Please let Matt be the first and finest example of a turning point in TNA where they are no longer dependent on a dissatisfied community of former WWF fans clinging to the past to market to.

If TNA is going to waste its time and money bringing in an overrated hack like Matt Hardy, the best thing that they can do is to put him in the position in which he's always been able to shine: riding his brother Jeff's coat tails as part of a tag team or against him in a feud. Even then, it still won't have the same fresh feel about it as it has in the past but I believe it's really just the best that TNA can do.

On his very best day, Matt Hardy is average and has always needed to be involved with other wrestlers that are, at least in some ways, so far above him that he looks good just by being next to them. The best examples are anything that he's done with his brother Jeff and his feud with Edge several years back. Just about anything else Matt Hardy has ever done has left him wallowing in mediocrity, which isn't at all surprising because Matt Hardy is a mediocre talent.

if Hardy comes to TNA, i would like for him to be on his brother's side. TNA now needs some heels (thanks to Morgan and Williams turning face) and my hope was that Carlito and Hardy would debut as heels and maybe join up with Immortal.

Matt will wind in TNA as soon as he can. You can be sure of that. I really, really hope TNA doesn't give him too big of a push, but I think it will happen. I've never understood the love some people have for this guy. He's always been average at best, but for some reason, certain members of the IWC believe he deserves a big push. They think he's underrated, and they think he should wear a world championship around his waist. I just don't get it.

I can see Hardy trying to be the voice of reason for his more popular and talented brother. He could show Jeff the error of his ways, and I wouldn't be surprised if TNA decided to have these two wrestle in the main event of a pay per view. Somewhere down the line, Matt and Jeff will become a tag team again. The Hardy Boyz will probably have one final run, and there's a good chance they will win the TNA Tag Team Championships. Hardy will tag along with his more famous and popular brother to gain some spotlight, because that's the only way Matt can break into the main event.

i think if matt debuts in tna they will probly have matt come out and cost jeff a match (title match or not) then the next couple weeks they will fued then matt will cost morgan or anderson a match (with jeff or immortals) and turn heel and bring the hardys back to life in tna thats just my opinion

Here's what will happen. They will bring in Matt in whatever capacity. It doesn't matter how because as has so often been the case in the past, TNA doesn't elevate talent, they all seem to sink to the level of the company itself, which is in the sewer. Not that it matters with Matt Hardy because thanks to his disgusting self promotion and overinflated sense of self worth, he is there anyway. Actually the only two people who have been the exception to this sad rule is Angle and Anderson. Angle's career speaks for itself and I actually have to admit that I really enjoy Anderson's character in TNA.

Anyway here's my prophetic view, if you will, of what will take place in TNA in the near future. The Hardly Brothers, Helms, and Shannon Moore, will all have their own backstage clique. They will all be together all the time, enabling each other's bad habits (I don't have to expand on this) as they all travel back and forth from NC to Orlando. Speaking of NC, those losers give all of us from NC a bad name. Anyway, eventually there will be heat on them backstage from the other wrestlers because of their attitudes that they, along with RVD, are the greatest things to ever happen to the industry. Then, they will start being late for tapings and live shows including ppvs because they are hungover, high, or just simply because they are that important, leading to even more heat backtage from everyone except Dixie. Eventually, something disastrous will happen and Carter will be forced to release them or send them to rehab. All of this is assuming that Jeff stays out of prison. The ironic part is that I firmly believe that if he goes to prison, it could actually be the best thing ever because it could save someone's life.

Who I really feel sorry for is the other truly talented members of the TNA roster who actually care about the business and who need the paycheck. They are the ones, along with the fans, who will suffer.

I'm sorry but I'm sick of WW(r)ejects walking straight into the main event scene. Pure and simple, as several other posters have pointed out, he doesn't deserve to walk into a top line feud with Jeff (if I remember correctly, the feud they had in WWe pretty much bombed). Matt needs to prove himself and a tag feud with sterling workers like Beer Money Inc is a good place to start (it'll also give him a chance to move out of wrestling the WWe way.) Matt Hardy used to be spoken about in wrestling fan circles the way Christian is now, he needs to prove he can be that man again.

i'm from NC and used to pull for those guys simply for that reason, but the way they use the internet to "swerve fans" or start feuds is just pathetic.

because of their presence on the internet, i think they already have a heel persona. don't ruin that by making them faces. doesn't make sense to me.

I hope to God this doesn't happen. If Matt Hardy is brought in....Well there isn't much to do. The guy is fat, slow, ugly, and not a very good wrestler. Im sure there are way more talented people out there that TNA could bring in rather than this scrub.

The only scenario that would work at all is if Matt does the only thing he is good at...JOB!!! Yeah, job the shit out of him. Have him lose to every up and comer on the roster. Have him SQUASHED! He might help make someone with talent relevant but DO NOT give him anything resembling a push. That would be a disaster. You already have one fat junkie named Hardy. One is too much but 2? No way. Job the shit out of Matt for 3 months and then fire his ass. Then he can make more stupid youtube videos about how he is being misused and the company is not letting him shine or whatever the fuck he wants to claim. The guy is the definition of average. He is almost as bad as Tommy Dreamer.

why do people even care what matt Hardy does or has failed to do on his own. He's a marginally good wrestler with crappy mike skills. what better days he does have are way down the road in wwe, even jeff can't help him now. jeff has enuff issues of his own much less carrying matts dead weight anymore. the video where they shot on cm punk told the story of 2 ingrates who still believe the hype of their tag team careers which are long gone. both need to take a close look at Has Been Hogan and see when its time to hang up the tights and boots. Do it before u over stay your welcome and start doing commercials for Rent a Center ala Hogan and show people you will do literally anything for a buck. TNA needs to develop young talents and quit wasting time on has beens, they would be farther ahead at this point in the game. Double J has sucked his whole career and they pin their hopes on him and other washed up wrestlers, they bury themselves WWE doesn't have to do it for them. Matt Hardy should team with Tommy Dreamer and call themselves the Never Hvae Beens, 2 of the most over rated wrestlers of all time, not to mention whiners.

This is NOT a thread asking whether anyone thinks Matt deserves to be in TNA, so if anyone wants to Hardybash - start your own thread. I'm not a fan of the extra-curricular antics of the boys recently but I am a wrestling fan and I do accept that Matt is nearly guaranteed to join his brother in TNA. If you have something to say about how he should be introduced/ used - this thread is for you. Otherwise, remember the old adage - If have have nothing constructive to say, say nothing!

The only way Matt Hardy should debut in TNA is something involving his brother. The big reason why TNA are even interested in the overweight Matt right now is because his brother is their world champion and they can try and get some interest from the casual wrestling fan who is hoping to see the reunited Hardy Boyz on tv again.

I definately think that we will eventually see Matt and Jeff feuding over the World Title (if Matt gets back in shape and Jeff isnt busy being bummed in the showers in jail), but I reckon Matt will make his debut aiding Jeff in some way, and then eventually turn on him becoming a face with Jeff remaining as the heel in Immortal.

The Hardys will team up in the main event of a PPV before the inevitable falling out, and maybe we will see an Omega trio of Matt, Moore and Helms feuding with Immortal.

The thing is...it doesnt say much for the wrestling business if Matt Hardy, Shannon Moore and Shane Helms are feuding with the biggest faction in the company, and the world champion....

TNA doesn't have to hire every wrestler WWE throws to the curb. Matt is not Jeff and he never will be. Hell, Jeff Hardy isn't even Jeff Hardy anymore in TNA. If the once most popular wrestler in WWE can't make an impact in TNA, then I doubt the mediocre Matt Hardy can. Nothing against the guy, besides his Twitter ramblings that have ruined wrestling kayfabe forever. Although it was ruined way before then. Matt is a star in his own mind. He may have a bunch of followers on the internet, but that doesn't mean he will draw a dime in TNA or anywhere for that matter.

If TNA can afford to hire anyone at this moment, it should be young talent from the indy circuit and not washed up WWE midcarders or green slobs from Team 3D wrestling academy.

Agreed... but still SOD ALL TO DO WITH THE THREAD. Once again for people with short attention spans, this thread is working on the highly likely idea that Matt Hardy is going to work for TNA in the very near future and what WZers would do if they where writing his entry storylines:banghead:

Well, Matt Hardy's 90 days non-compete-clause is almost up and like we've seen on iMPACT, Rob Van Dam's facing a mystery opponent and with Jeff Hardy picking the opponent, who better but to chose his brother, Matt Hardy. Matt vs. RVD would be a good match and it'd be a surprising, shocking way for him to debut, but that means heel Matt, extra epic. I see it happening like I just said,..

No , & not at all! :D

We don't need him poluting the roster with his mediocrity , diva attitude , ugly hair and beer gut

Hey McGillicutty - nice to have some fresh blood stirring up the Zone. You bring up some valid points on Mr Hardy but I think you've mistaken the meaning of my post. 'Should Matt 'cross the line'' would be better read as 'If'. This isn't a character appraisal thread, it's a creative thread. Put your personal feelings for Matt aside and post your best entrance scenario for storyline purposes, please.

The easy storyline would be that Matt Hardy debuts at Genesis to face Rob Van Dam as the mystery opponent. It would make sense that Jeff brings in his brother to take out RVD. Matt would lose, of course, but be the one to officially take out A.J. Styles once he loses to Douglas Williams. The Immortals then would be Hogan, Bischoff, both Hardys, Abyss, Terry, Jarrett, Flair, Kaz, and Beer Money. Matt would then feud with A.J. Styles to get the most out of him for the time being, serving as a buffer for Styles before he gets to Jeff.

I could see TNA hotshotting the TV Title onto Matt, unfortunately, since they seem to be on a debut-and-win-a-title kick.

why do u guys keep talking about his 90 day clause.like 95% do have that 90 day waiting period. but not all wrestlers. And Matt is in the 5% that does not have to wait the 90 days. i agree him being RVD mystery partner would be great. but i think it will be Helms, and Matt will Debut later when he interferes in the main event

Yes but honestly him going to TNA will just make him inferior to jefff but it would be nice to see the OMEGA trio.

and honestly Matt is overall the better wrestler and the Hardy Boyz more well known member. Jeff only got more popular for being an extreme spot monkey.
