Where to begin? Let's wind the clocks back 10 years, the Attitude Era was in full swing and there were two men at the top of the heap, Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock. If you said that Austin saved the WWE from the clutches of Eric Bischoff, you'd be right but, if you said that The Rock was the saving grace of the WWE, you wouldn't be wrong either as a big part of Austin's run was The Rock playing his heel foil. I mean, Austin couldn't just whup Mr. McMahon's ass every week right? In essence, The Rock was, well, the rock that was holding it down especially when Austin was hurt and/or taking his ball and going home.

Back to today, there's a new day in the WWE and once again there are two men at the helm. Now, seeing that there isn't a way to have one man that everyone is going to love thanks to the internet, the role of "top guy" has been tweeked a little bit. We now have John Cena, the actual top guy if you want to take the term for it's actual meaning as he's the face of the company. You think WWE today, you think John Cena but he's also the top guy as far as the women and children, in effect, the demographic that's going to buy stuff outside of a ticket and/or DVD. Cena moves almost as much merchandise as Austin or Hogan did once upon a time. His problem is that the smarks of the internet and the cynical bastards of the world hate his guts. Next, we have Randy Orton, who gets as much love form the IWC as Cena gets hate and is kinda like the top guy their eyes. He's the Vegeta to Cena's Goku, the douche bag we all want to be but don't have the balls just like we want to be half the man the John Cena character is but don't have the balls which is why I think a lot of people hate Cena. Anyway, the question that I pose to you is this, Wrestlezone Forum, which fued would you rather see and why?

Stone Cold Steve Austin vs John Cena: The two top guys of their respective generations in the WWE. Austin was the guy that we all wanted to be, the take no prisoners bad ass that did what he wanted when he wanted. Cena is the WWE's current superhero that you can't ever seem to hurt and that's where it get's kinda interesting. Cena never seems to be hurt but you can hurt Austin, it's just that you're going to have to worry about the payback next week. Both were fantastic heels and were actually better at it than their face roles as Cena can play face but he's just better to me as heel and Austin was never truly a face and more of a 'tweener. The strenghth of the fued is going to come from the build up as they can both cut passionate promos, boy, can Cena cut passionate promos, but mostly because Cena's current style wouldn't lend to it being a great match as he'd be taking an ass whupping for most of the match and that would wear Austin out with his high energy style of working. When he'd work with Rock, he could let The Rock lead the match for a few minutes so that he can take a breather.

The Rock vs Randy Orton: Both third generation superstars, both play douche bags to the tee both were members of memorable stables, both are HHH's biggest rival at the time. The only problem I'd have in this fued is that The Rock would crush RKO when it would come to promos. The thing that made The Rock and Austin's fueds so great was that they were both great at cutting promos, so this fued's true strength is going to come from the match itself which is great because that would allow them to use the Attitude Era's back and forth style as The Rock can lead with the energy and Orton can bring the action if needed although not as much as Austin and The Rock did.

Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Randy Orton: Both the badasses of their time and both ran through the McMahon family like they weren't shit. This is going to have the same problem as The Rock vs RKO because RKO'S gonna get dominated mic wise so he's going to have to make it up in the match which is okay because RKO's slow methodical mace would give Austin time to gather himself after his flurries of offense. Another key aspect would be the aftermath as you know it's going to take more than one match with these two to settle things. I'd also love to see the finish as both can hit their finishers out of nowwhere.

The Rock vs John Cena: Great because of the real life animosity between both men, look at the way The Rock looked at him after laying into him at the Hall of Fame back in 2008, he gave him that "I heard what you've been saying, motherfucka" look so it would be that much more believable. Also they can both cut funny promos against each other so it can be both humorous and riveting. They're both infamous for their signature moves so expect a long match. This match also has similar problems to Austin v. Cena as Cena's current style has him just taking a beating for most of the match as opposed to the back and forth style The Rock used.

I voted for Stone Cold V Randy Orton.

I know Orton's promo Skills arent Superb, but they aren't Horrible either! They both have teamed up and feuded against Triple H.Something that could be used well in the build Up.I find Cena's Wrestling Style Boring,Doesnt matter who he faces The Rock or SCSA,the match would be Boring!Orton has a FIxed MOVESEt just like Cena's,But i find Orton's More Entertaining! And he plays well to the crowd reaction he recieves Considering the Character he portrays !

The Stunner V The RKO (DIfferent Versions of the CUTTER)
But i do realise The Rock is in far better COndition to actual do a wrestling match.

Cena vs Austin. Okay, I know Cena's style of wrestling is get beat up and then come back but he can change his style for one match can't he? Plus the promos, oh my god, they will be AWESOME. Stone Cold saying "I'm gonna whoop your ass during our match" and Cena saying "I won't give up. When you try to... I'll shit!!" (Okay that was lame). But think about the intensity. Its Cena vs Austin for me.

while i love the "bad ass vs bad ass" theme of austin vs orton im more interested in the dynamic that the rock vs cena would create. i mean the cenation vs the people would be well electrifing lol. either have cena beat the rock and become a huge heel or the rock beat him and become a huge heel either way this match would be golden for the WWE whereas austin vs orton would draw huge but it would mostly be due to austins popualarity. nw if this was back when orton was the legend killer and austin was still wrestling things nite be different but the rock and cena could be the biggest match of all time IMO

I would actually quite like to see the rock vs orton. A heel orton that is, it would be similar to the rock/hhh fueds in that orton wouldn't have any boundaries and the rock would have to get down to his level to get even, it would have to be a very personal intense fued for it to work, it probably would have to be for any of those matches to work and in my opinion that's the only fued that could feel real and the payoff match at mania would be incredible. Ad much as I hate to say it, anything Austin is gonna be involved in is just gonna feel like a novelty.

This is tough. I would like to see either Rock or Austin vs. Cena. (I can't stand Orton so I won't even think about him) Orton's too bland IMO to come close to either one of the above mentioned matches. Could you not see the back and forth in the ring with Austin and Cena? The rebel attitude of Austin vs. the more "good guy" attitude of Cena? Kind of puts me in mind of Austin and Angle's differences when they were feuding. Austin beer, Angle milk, that kind of thing. However, that being said, even minus the personal differences of Rock/Cena, those two would be outstanding promo-wise. I see their styles as being a lot similar in the ring. Rock would get knocked around a lot for a while, just like Cena, do the comeback (both use spinebusters too), hit a people's elbow (5 knuckle shuffle) after a little back and forth action, then Rock Bottom (AA). You know, their in-ring style is a hell of a lot similar if you really look at it, and that may just not be a good thing. I mean, if you have two very similar workers, their in-ring action might not play off each other well like two different styles would (yet we did have Hogan/Warrior back in the day...). If I had to pick one of the two, I would have to say Austin/Cena would get my vote for the match. However, they could still have Rock and Cena go back and forth strickly promo-wise also just for the blue hell of it and I wouldn't complain.

Cena and Rock is the best option. Story line/promo wise. They could build it up big time before the match with both men just saying the overall truth of what has happened over the past 6-7 years since Rocky left. What I think would be the best part of the feud, while Cena would most likely getting boo'ed from 99% of the audience I could see a portion of said audience siding with Cena when these two finally collide. I'd say it would end up being Cena vs Orton but much greater then that.

I can't think of any reason why Cena vs Austin would take place other then Cena wanting to torch properly passed onto him. Orton vs Austin would turn into RKO vs Stunner and Orton vs Rock would turn into a lesser Cena vs Rocky. I'm no fan of Cena but I still want to see Cena vs Rock at Mania (the build up would be the best part). Hell Cena vs Austin would work but I'd much rather see Cena vs Rock.

Rock vs Cena. Arguably the most visable name in sports entertainment vs the most well known former WWE performer now in Hollywood. Not only would it garner major buzz, imagine the promos that the two would put on. Without a doubt the best promo guy of the Attitude Era vs the top promo guy of the PG era. Plus, as was stated, there appears to be minor real life animosity, so you have an instant storyline there. Good thread topic man.

John Cena vs The Rock. There's background into it. John saying The Rock went back on his word and turned his back, The Rock making jokes about how bad The Marine was and all that.

I'd go with Austin/Orton. They would just tear each other apart. It would be the most physical of any of those matches. I also think the brutality would just get better and better too if they were able to continue the feud with a few gimmicks.

The Rock vs. John Cena, without a shadow of a doubt. First of all, Stone Cold most likely can't perform at a high level anymore. He left because of his injuries, whereas The Rock simply left because he had moved on. I have much more faith in Rock to be able to put on a quality return match than I do Austin. Plus, I always liked him a little bit more anyway. I also like Cena a bit more than I do Orton, and his name carries much more value for a "dream match." Orton is a top guy, but Cena is THE top guy, and he has been since 2005. He is instantly the most recognizable name, out of current WWE superstars, for people who don't actually watch the product regularly. In addition, Rock vs. Cena would have a built in story, based on the comments that Cena made a while back about The Rock leaving wrestling behind. They could play off of that, and play up Cena's jealousy for the success that Rock has had. In the end, it would be an awesome showdown with great mic work from both guys, and quite possibly an epic match to top it all off.
